Do you take the time to hide your BF loot in your car?

I hide most things in my vehicle anyway. DH's Explorer is kinda nice with the cover in the back.. I may use his vehicle this year when BF shopping. ;)

Do you hide the stuff in your vehicle when out BF shoppin'? Call me paranoid, but I'm afraid some dimwit would see a bag I had and break in for it. Silly? Not in my mind.. look at what some do to get that one perfect gift for their kid. :3duck:

I hide stuff in my van but that's because I don't want the kids seeing it, LOL. When I get home it has to all stay in the van till I can get them either out of the house or in bed, so I can haul it all either out to the storage shed out back or up to my room and stuff it in my closet.

My stuff goes in the back of the van (tinted windows make it hard to see in unless you put your face up to the glass) and then I throw a blanket over it. My girlfriend had her car broken into on BF probably about 10 years ago (they busted up the steering column but didn't steal it) and she was lucky that insurance covered most of it (her purchases) because she had all the receipts that showed she had purchased stuff that day. She said most everything was in the trunk, but she had the thing to pop the trunk from inside the car.

Ditto here! My Explorer has rear tinted windows and its hard to see in. :D

My husband has limo tint on his back windows so you can't see in even if you put your face to the window in bright sunshine!!!! So no problems for me!!!;)

I put everything in my van and cover with blankets. We have never had any problems in our town with cars getting broken into on BF. But, when I get home, if the kids are awake, they will run straight out to the van and try to look inside. So, I just take a minute or two to throw a blanket over everything.

I buy a bag of lawn and leaf trash bags to keep in the trunk for xmas shopping. then i put everything inside the trash bags and haul it in the house. no one can see inside. then after i wrap stuff i put it right back in those trash bags and tie them shut so they have to be cut open. they are all ready to be hauled downstairs christmas eve. right now i have two big bullitin boards wrapped and they are right behind the couch the kids sit on everyday..lol they will never notice. :crossfing

I wish I could hide the stuff, but as I already said, I have a kia rio with a jammed trunk....and I have to drive 45 miles home with whatever I buy with my son in tow.... (just turned 3!)

about 12 years ago we went to the movies on BF later in the evening and someone broke into my escort wagon :-( insurance wouldn't cover the few things we had in there. i have a mini van now and really wish I had a trunk to lock stuff in!!! i always worry about that. I hide the stuff in the garage (it's a wreck) until i can get it wrapped and put away in the house. it's worked before. now i have a friend without kids so i can hide the stuff at her house :D

This year I will be taking my car and plan to have the trunk cleaned out so I can store items in there as I buy.

Thanks to the tips on this thread I will also take a couple of blankets in case I need to throw them over something that has to go in the back seat.

I love this site! I've learned alot in a short time! :teacher:
