elena_398 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 My son and daughter keep seeing the ad for the game Scene It (disney edition) which plugs into the tv I guess. Does anyone have this game and do ya think it could be on sale on BF? Im not sure if this is a new game, but this is the first time I've seen it. Seems like a fun game not only my 5 1/2 yr old can play but my husband and I. god only knows if its the Disney version, we've seen just about every Disney cartoon movie ever made! Thanks for any information on this game. Seems interesting.
Gporter34 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I have never seen it but if it is like a trivia game, I'm like you, we have seen every Disney movie and cartoon ever made. We have most of them on video and dvd so we have seen those about 100 times each.
boudmel Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 We have Disney Scene It and Scene It JR - we love them both! It is a board game with lots of trivia. It comes with a DVD that you pop in and you will watch scenes from movies and stuff and have to answer a question. This is a really fun game and I am looking at getting a couple of the expander packs this year.
elena_398 Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 Thanks so much. I hate buying all toys that the kids will play a minute then throw on the shelf. When I saw this on a commercial the other day, it seemed like this would be a great thing the whole family can play. I definately want the Scene it Disney as my youngest can play, but what is Scene It Jr? What kind of topics to they ask? And what is expansion packs. Thanks. I just hope BF will have this at some store.
boudmel Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Here is a link to Amazon for Scene it Jr reviews. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000221YP6/qid=1129334266/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/103-2808300-1792617?v=glance&s=toys It is a juniorized version of the reg edition Scene It for ages 7 - 12. Even though it is a Jr version we all enjoy playing it. Scene It now sells expansion packs with different versions of the game that you can add to your exsisting Scene it Game. They have a HBO pack, a Turner Movie Pack, TV edition, James Bond Edition and a regular edition - it is so you can add more trivia and scenes to your exsisting game. We will be adding an expansion pack this year - I just need to decide which one - I would love to see these onsale on BF too!!
diane175 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 We have both the Disney and regular version. My kids (11 & 14) LOVE them! They are always asking to play them. Definitely worth the $$.
treasure60 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Glad I checked this post out. I have 2 young teenage brothers who I think will enjoy this,,,I think I will buy the Scene It Game for them. Thanks to the OP for asking about it.
Kay1996 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 To heck with the kids I want them, I also want the Harry Potter one that I saw recently...I hope Santa is nice to me this year
elena_398 Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 After I posted this thread and read the responses, I looked further into the game and showed my husband about it. He definately wants this. He said he wants the movie expansion pack too as we could play it ourselves! so I think I'll need the disney version for the whole family, maybe the jr edition, and movie or HBO expansion pack. I think this would be fun for get togethers for adults too.
Gporter34 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Well, I think I will add that game to the top of my list. I always love games we can play together instead of everyone having their heads stuck in a video game. It sounds like it would be a great invest. I wonder if they will be on sale on BF...
elena_398 Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Im hoping. Walmart has them on Price Drop, but its still $29.99
Gporter34 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Well, that's not bad even at regular price. Especially since everyone can enjoy it.
elena_398 Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 yeah, I looked on ebay and everyone on there is saying the Disney one is RARE. I hope not as thats the version my daughter could play as shes ony 5 1/2. BUT she knows her Disney movies. LOL
boudmel Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Just keep your eyes on it - I was able to get the Disney one for $24 last year at Target and I know that Walmart had it on sale briefly too. Just watch for it because when they marked them at the sale price it probably only ran for a week then it was back to reg price.
elena_398 Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Thanks. This is the first year I every saw it. Wish I knew about it last year. Hmmm, don't know why I never saw it before. I bought a lot of games for the kids, but don't remember coming across that game
Gporter34 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I'm in our WalMart almost everyday so I will have to watch for that one.
elena_398 Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Yeah let me know. I talked to my sister the other day and she went to her Walmart and they didn't have it.
Gporter34 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 No problem, matter of fact, I have to go there today for dog food, so I will check.
boudmel Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 If I run across it on sale anytime soon I will post where and how much too.
Stowasser Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 keep checking out TRU online, I got ours and I love it, by the way, and it was $29.99 but it came with a free game or it was on the BOGO free deal....I want the HP one too! Jill
vonnyb Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 This seems like a really fun game I an going to look into getting it for my husband and I. We LOVE movies. My son is a little to young for it right now.

mjmcca Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Some of the scene it games are on sale this week at TRU and amazon.com. The Harry Potter one is on sale for $29.99. The Disney is not part of the promotion as far as i can see.

Thanks for any information on this game. Seems interesting.I manage a game store and Scene It has been one of our biggest sellers so far this year. Most of my friends and family are avid game players and we all love Scene It. You can go to Scene It's web site at http://www.screenlifegames.com/sceneit.aspx and play demo versions of most of the games. That is the easiest way to find out what the questions are basically like.
