Those things had been sitting there FOREVER since they didn't get marked down with the rest of the pool stuff. I usually buy all of these I can find that aren't hideous. I use these throughout the year when my daughter has a bday party. I fill them with various clearance finds and for around 10 to 20 bucks a kid they make out like bandits Cool, I picked the same 2 Leapster games. I went to a cashier I am friendly with and she scanned it without looking at the game title requirements or the expiration date. It was accepted right away so she did not have to manually "force it". If she had seen the expiration date she might have said no but because she knows me she did not not even bother to look at the date. (I go to that Target 5 days a week.)
