areno79
Hi all, I'm just checking to see how the price adjustment policy works for Target in regards to BF. As I understand it, I can go in Wednesday night, buy the items I want, then go back on Friday with the ad and get a price adjustment. Is there anything else I'm missing? Do I have to do the price adjustment at a certain time/place? Will they just put the credit back on my credit card or give me cash? Thanks for any feedback! Rose0426
Thanks for asking that. We just got a Target near me and this will be the first time I will be shopping at Target and was wondering the same thing to. Also if you are price matching from another store, do you have to be there during the blockbuster hours to get it price adjusted?
nick_jenni_jocelyn
I work at Target and asked this same question as I am the store operator(handles all incoming calls and questions). I asked if a person can come in before hand and purchase an item that is onsale for BF and then come in on BF and price adjust and the answer was no. This is the same at several other stores in our area, but it may be a store-to-store policy and I would call your local Target and ask. I just know that we are not allowing it and we have pretty tough management and guest service team members, lol.

Last year I printed off the policy and took it with me and there were no problems. I would call and ask for customer service and ask the question, get their name and the name of the manager and print out the policy and take that with you. mom2thegirls
I have always purchased before Black Friday, waited for the line to go in and then walked up to customer service with the ad and my receipt. Never had a problem. Don't wait until Wednesday, though. The big items start getting pulled off the shelves before then. Send an email to corporate (I do this every year) and ask about the price adjustment policy concerning BF items. Target will respond that their policy is to adjust the price of any item purchased with in a two week period. If the BF ad says a monitary gift card is included, you won't get that. yellowjeepster
Target does not price match. I have bought before hand and went back in during the sale hours and received the price adjustment. I think they are trying to cut down on this though so you might want to call ahead as others have suggested. Have the printed corporate policy w/you as well. I don't think they will adjust Early Bird prices, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Even if its a doorbuster item? My SIL and I are eyeing those 700tc sheets for $30!!! Nowhere else to be found at that price. The entire ad says doorbuster... Also does this apply for the dvd's and the fire pit?
SweetCanela
There's a thread on the main board about price-matching in general you can google any of the policies and stiick to what the policy says.
Gator Pam
Target does not price match. This would have been my response as well, until I saw this past Sunday's sale ad. On the back cover it gives the policy for price matching, if I read it correctly. I have tossed my copy, does anyone have a copy they can quote, please? I am not sure if that is corporate policy or not, I am just saying that I asked this very question on wednesday night when I worked and the answer I was given was no.... No buying before hand and returning on BF to price adjust. But as I stated, ,it may be a store-to-store decision.
speeddiva
I'm assuming this doesn't work on things like the iPod w/gift card? I'm going to do this with the DVDs I need though...thanks for the input :)

Kibit13
One of the issues with buying and price adjusting is you may not get the $10 gift card with a $100 purchase. Thankfully the items I am looking for are not big ticket "hot" items.
vucikn00
Target does price-match, I have linked the policy below, however, it specifically excludes "timed" events. And I have had success in past years with getting a price adjustment. http://sites.target.com/site/en/company/page.jsp?contentId=WCMP04-040400 Here is the link to the price adjustment policy, that does not list doorbusters in its exclusions. http://www.target.com/b/ref=br_bx_1/189-3657959-8160941?ie=UTF8&node=2223356011

tinkrbel
A question for those that have price adjusted previously: Do you need to take the item or just your receipt?
shoppinmama
A question for those that have price adjusted previously: Do you need to take the item or just your receipt? I just took the receipt, but had the items in the car just in case. I also had a copy of a similar e-mail from corporate, but didn't need it. Because the items I had were on sale Friday and Sat, I went in Sat afternoon and didn't have to deal with any crowds. I did this in 2008 before they had the gift card with $100 purchase. I think this year since all I want is pj's and jeans I'll go in on BF.

jlsc
I had no problem last year with Target doing price adjustments on some toys from Walmart's ad. They just looked through the add to make sure the item was not a doorbuster.
