miss_heidi
I found this website called Wishbook web. It's a trip. Someone took the time out to post old Christmas catalogs, starting from the 1930s. I thought some other members here might get a kick out of this site so I'm shaing. http://www.wishbookweb.com/

santaclaus
Oh my gosh, those Doll Houses bring back fond memories for me. While neither was like the two shown, I got two one year for Christmas. My Mom got me a ranch style, my Aunt Ann got me a two story one.
chilimak
Those are so cool!!! Brought back lots of memories of my childhood in the 70's. I will have to show my 11 yr. old daughter. I have told her about some of the toys and dolls I played with as a child. Now I can actually show her. Those prices are a hoot!!!! Sure wish they were like that now, lol. Under $10. for dolls, $25. for play furniture, wow. Thanks for posting this. Its great.
allshoppedout
miss_heidi so cool thanks for alerting us to this. I remember looking at that 1971 Sears catalog! Only looked at a few things, didn't find anything I got--yet. Illinoismom, how wonderful to find your dollhouse in that one, probably brings alot of memories of that Christmas back to you. :)

sunni0913
I loved looking through the Sears Catalog as a kid. I would have to put my name beside everything I wanted so that everyone knew what to buy. Not that I got much of what I circled but it was a lot of fun to dream..lol

AndreaInNC
Looking at the catalogs from when I was a kid - I could remember opening up that brand new catalog and the smell of the pages. Am I nuts?
fluffkin79
I looked at the Sears 1985 catalog expecting everything to look super-cheap. I find much better prices on similar items today! No wonder I didn't get the good stuff as a kid - there were no deal sites like this. Can you believe that my Mom had to comparison shop in person!?! queenofshopping
This is amazing! I think I had every single thing on the page of the '88 catalog with the Fisher Price kitchen! My friend is getting her daughter a kitchen this xmas, and my mom and I were just talking about how nothing compares to the old Fisher Price one! It's so true! And all these other kitchen gadgets and food accessories...all of it was amazing! Nothing out today comes close! http://i51.tinypic.com/qzhg6r.jpg Edited November 7, 2010 by queenofshopping
kboyts
Funny to see how language and word usage changes over the years. Picture from the 1969 wishbook, certainly couldnt get away with this these days LOL http://www.wishbookweb.com/1969_SearsChristmasCatalog/images/1969_SearsChristmasCatalogPage0251.jpg
jakesmommy403
This is wonderful!!! I found my prized kitchen set that Santa brought me in the 1986 catalog on pg 406! I was 4-years-old, and I got that kitchen and every little piece of plastic food and tiny cookware you could think of to go with it! I used to pretend I was a mommy and play with it all day; making meal after meal for my imaginary babies and husband. I almost cried when I saw that picture. I haven't seen that kitchen in years!! :) http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y182/jakesmommy403/k.jpg Edited November 12, 2010 by jakesmommy403
