MrZone Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) Not pricematch, but adjust. If so, I will be going to get that 599 Samsung that Sears is offering on BF. Edited November 17, 2009 by Rockfordmom
noehlp Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I doubt anyone know's the answer to your question yet or not, for this year. However, last year they did, see the thread: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=125445&highlight=Walmart+price+match Anyone?
marshmallowpuff Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 We did this last year with our LCD TV. Got the great Sears deal without having to fight for one....just by Ad Matching at Wal-Mart. I am going to guess they are going to do this again this year. They have this as an ongoing thing (printed on all their ads), so I don't see why they would change it this year. According to my husband it's their policy to price match (as long as the item is identical), and it doesn't matter if it's a special sale.
bigjimslade Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 This subject comes up every year and everyone has a different experience and or outcome. what I would do is email WM and ask them in very detailed terms and see what they say. Once you get a response print out the email and then when you go do it on BF take it with you. I would also talk to your local store manager and ask them as well. I have noticed that some district managers empower local managers to do what they feel so you may have one manager in Broken Bow, OK who will do a PA but a manager in Dallas, Texas wont. I have been doing BF for many years so here is my friendly advice.
amyers12345 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Not pricematch, but adjust. If so, I will be going to get that 599 Samsung that Sears is offering on BF.If you are planning on getting the television at Walmart, that is called price matching. Price adjusting is when they will refund a difference if a price is lower at their store (some stores will do this for competitors). If you plan to price match, the answer is yes. It is part of their corporate policy. However, each manager is able to discern the distance that they will price match. Walmart does not price adjust, but you do have the option to return and rebuy. Because this is not a normal policy, they will not employ it for BF only.
bigjimslade Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Here is WM policy from the WM site. http://walmartstores.com/FactsNews/7659.aspx Price matching Our goal is always to be the low price leader in every community where we operate. Our customers trust us to have every day low prices ... there's no need for "special sales."Our unbeatable promise: Store managers make the final decision in always taking care of our customers, but we do have guidelines for matching our competition. * We do honor "Preferred Shopping Card" advertised prices. Must be like items, be advertised and require a competitor's shopping card, for the discount to apply. * We do not honor advertisements that require a purchase in order to receive the advertised price or free product. * We do not honor "Buy One / Get One Free" advertisements. * We do not honor double or triple coupons or percent off advertisements. * We do not honor other retailers' "Misprinted" advertised prices. * We do not honor Internet Pricing. * We do not honor competitor advertisements from outside of the store's or Club's local trade territory.
dbaby4ever Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Good to know that it's worth a try! Thanks! :)
MrZone Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 The normal policy is that It must be within 7 days of purchase. If I buy the TV on that Saturday before, I have until the following Saturday to get it adjusted if I see it lower.
amyers12345 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I've seen a commercial twice today for the new, improved 'price match promise' at Wal-Mart. It says that they will match any competitor's ad (excluding online) and you don't even have to bring in the ad. At a coupon class I gave the other day, a student said that their manager told her that there were no limits to the distance of PM'ing anymore, and it was going nationwide. I'm not sure how this works with any store with no ad. Our stores keep local competitors ads on hand, but it would be nearly impossible to keep them all. I'm sure they aren't going to take your word for it. I haven't receive a press release on it yet, and haven't been able to find one. We are near Bentonville, so I don't know if that has any effect on our promotions.
speeddiva Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I'd love the distance thing to go away. I live in a rural area where WM's only competition that fell in the 30 mile rule was Meijer. It'll be great to be able to use the BB, TRU & Target ads there now!
bigjimslade Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Here is the only thing I found for WM. http://walmartstores.com/FactsNews/7659.aspx
amyers12345 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 yeah, that's all I found, too. It's weird, I've seen the commercial two more times since I posted this. It may be a regional thing, but WM doesn't usually do that.
suddenly_1976 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 do they generally recognize competitor store coupons?
amyers12345 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 no, they don't accept them... sure do wish they did!
Illinoismom Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Good luck with the price match at walmart during Black friday, They are known for removing items from selves that others have so you cannot price match. The Walmart I shop at has done it three years running.

The Walmart I shop at has done it three years running.yeah - if the Office Max ad is correct I would be that no Walmart will have Snuggies on the shelves until that doorbuster time is over.
amyers12345 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I've price matched there on BF for years without a problem- I've even got the BB and CC big ticket items, camcorders, cameras, etc. Our stores here don't pull items.. sometimes they run out early, but they don't pull them.

dmmiller Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I price-matched a few years ago at WM. They had the few things I needed on the shelves and had no problems. (it was a slower WM, so maybe that had something to do with it?)
sweetdiggity Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I just seen this commercial this morning, too. I think it's great. I have lots of stores like Target, Kmart, etc right next to my Walmart, and have price matched things at Walmart with no problem, but could never price match things from TRU because they're further away than other stores. Hopefully this year TRU will have something good for me to price match.
Gporter34 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I PM every year at our WM and have not had a problem, but I have heard people say that they sometimes remove items from their shelves that they don't want to PM on BF. I guess I get there before they remove them, lol.
nikkilugi Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Never had a problem PM'ing at the Wal-Mart near me either on BF. The items from other stores are usually on the shelves and the employees usually act like they didn't even know another store had it on sale until I show them the ad, lol.
angied64084 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I've price matched a lot of things of BF...I generally get to my 24 hour store 1-2 hours before 5am and grab what I need and drop it off in the cart with my FIL who patiently waits in womens clothing for all of us to shop.
amyaj Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 The nearest Kmart and Target are 20 minutes away. Even though we get the ads in the local paper, Walmart refused to PM from their ads. I'm glad this is going away and now I won't have to drive.
pixiedust0208 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Does anyone know if Walmart Ad matches on Black Friday?
arci122 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Ours does if it is not a doorbuster some place else.
nikkilugi Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Does anyone know if Walmart Ad matches on Black Friday?Mine does - even doorbusters, however the PM must being during the hours that the store is open. So if I want to PM the snuggie from OM which doesn't open until 7 am I would need to wait until 7 am at Wal-Mart to purchase it there and price match.
marshmallowpuff Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Mine will PM the doorbusters too. We got the Sharp 46" LCD tv that was on sale at Sears at WM last year. It was so nice to waltz in, get a beautiful tv for a good deal and waltz right back out without having to deal with the pushing and shoving and fighting over 3 tvs.
Sandi852 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 yeah - if the Office Max ad is correct I would be that no Walmart will have Snuggies on the shelves until that doorbuster time is over.Ooooooh. . .that's a great idea on the Snuggie if they don't pull them!!
KBsDarling Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 kmart add has them as well...not sure if that helps but maybe kmart opens earlier to not have to wait till 7am re:snuggies
