As someone who is partially disabled (leg injury), I fell in love with this website and the people I have met because it brought those of us together who, otherwise, would never have met. The sales and online deals posted, as well, have meant a TON to those of us with a very low cash flow. I would love a shirt but do not care if I win one, I just want you all to know (and all the people from West Michigan) that I have appreciated you more and more every year and thank you for giving this old man some great memories.

I have to say I agree 100% with it being a dull sale year.. I dug through every ad over and over and really see nothing I want for a price that is worth it and so it looks like I won't have to sleep outside again this year. Thank God... Note to stores and suppliers.. I know the economy sucks and everyone is getting hurt right now but come on.... seriously. ..and to you Harmonix.. HOW ABOUT SOME ROCK BAND 2 DEALS ?????????

Well, considering I can buy just about everything BB has at a lower priceon Newegg.com, I am not shocked. After I built my new pc (parts from Newegg), I went into BB to see how much I had saved and it was close to $900 in savings... and this is not even a "top of the line" pc... wow !

My wifes sister-in-law works for the local newspaper and says that they put them in a vault when they come in but, hopefully, I can get a copy early and will be sure to let everyone know

I haven't heard anything, not even rumors, about a cheaper Xbox sadly to say. I am really hoping and praying for a low cost Rock Band 2 bundle or even just the drumkit... but, again, haven't even heard rumors about them at this point.

Yeah, it is basically the same as any other Xbox (i.e. same functionality) but just does not come with a harddrive or wireless controllers. The harddrive is not a huge necessity but really comes in handy if you want to download anything off from Xbox Live since there is not much on-board storage in the Xbox... my Rock Band and ROck Band 2 downloads alone would be way too much for the Xbox alone and I don't have too many at all. It is a decent item if you can get it cheap though and easy enough to get a hardrive for it (Go on Ebay for a harddrive...they are expensive at the store). I believe the Arcade version also comes with a disk with some little arcade games on it as well.

Damn, too late for me to put something together tonight... I knew I should have checked earlier today or yesterday but I am always in the "store specific" section... AHHHHHHHH

Can bring a tent if you want to BB...saw many people do that. Last year I saw a couple porta potties set up (unlike the year I waited...argh !!) Luckily, I live close and my wife was with me so, later in the night, I went home to warm up, made some coffee, came back and gave her some coffee, and then she left, warmed up, and got some sleep. It is nice to tag team it like that AND it gives ya someone to visit with. If you do bring a camper, be prepared for a few things : A) A tall fat man (if I come) breaking in to get warm. Possibly being told to move it by police or BB staff C) Not being able to leave because of the size and the traffic in the morning. Maybe I will just use an old play... pay a homeless guy $25 to wait in line for me all night... hahahahaha

Well, 2 years ago they got to the Alpine store about 3pm Turkey Day.. I got there about 3:15 and was 3rd in line and stayed the whole night... I believe I was hanging with Redlotus there that year... Last year I drove by about the same time (since, as I mentioned, I live behind it) and there were about 50 people or so there. I am expecting a ton more this year since it seems to majorly increasing... I am not really planning on going this year but it is all dependant on the add I guess... I built my own pc last March so I have one better than anything they could offer me at any price so the only thing that might bring me out is a great video card at a low price and they really never have anything upper level on BF so I am not holding my breath. I will warm you all to stay away from any bulk deals on DVD-r media bulk packs... hid a couple the day before Turkey Day and went in late in the day BF last year to get em and, wow, they are just bad. No wonder they were so cheap. I normally use a TON of em but I bought 2 packs and have one full one left and one partially full. Anyone want some DVD-r's ? They would work great for data storage but just suck terribly for use as dvd movie media... I tried 3 other DVD-r's (different makers) and they all performed flawlessly so it is just this brand... ack ! The brand is "Dynex".. avoid em like the plague people !

I would say to grab Rock Band (or even better, Rock Band 2) I think all you are missing currently is Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero World Tour. For GHWT or Rock Band you should be all set (just have to buy either game) but, of course, if you want to play drums you need to pick up the drumkit.

I agree, the GHWT drumkit is kinda flimsy IMHO and just felt wrong to me in so many ways. I rented GHWT a few days ago (since it works with all the Rock Band and RB2 peripherals) and, frankly, the music is great but the game itself is only so-so. Rock Band 2 is a much more complete and better game. Then again, I was never a die hard GH fan anyways so, if you are, you may prefer GHWT over RB/2. Personally, I think I am just going to go for a RB2 drumkit and then order the 3 pack of cymbals from madcatz.com and have a field day with it all. For you guitarists, might as well find a cheap deal on GHWT guitars or go for the RB2 wireless guitar controllers. I apologize too for not realising the price and ad was for just the guitar bundle... my bad !

Sucks that it is limited in area... they should just have a general contest and then go to those cities where the winners are for this. I am a couple hours from Detroit but am sure as hell not going to drive (or be driven) into Detroit with money in my pocket. Hahaha I used to live there, I know what it is like. Still, I am sad....

Has anyone heard any rumors or, well, anything about maybe a sale on the Rock Band 2 bundle for Black Friday ? My wife and I really want that but, if it is not going to be on sale, Sears has Guitar Hero World Tour for $99.99 online only the day before. (Actually, check my post in the Sears thread because it might be happening now) I prefer the Rock Band 2 drum kit so I really want that but, if the price is right, I can be swayed ya know.

I noticed for the "Day Before Sale" which is online only, they have the Guitar Hero World Tour bundle for $99.99 (about $90 off I believe) but here is my main question... When I click the "add to cart" link and go through the process (although stopping before buying it) it says that price now... anyone know anything about this ? Drop a line and let us know because, if so, I might be able to talk the warden into it even though we would prefer the Rock Band 2 bundle (which I hope goes on sale this BF)

here is what I do / have done in the past. First, tell them that if it is important, they should be there with you... of course stating "not so funny now is it" every chance you get. Second, tell them you WILL pick up whatever but tell them YOU want to be paid for it... even though you are there anyways, the time it takes to grab that 1 extra item is the difference between 30 minutes in line and 2 hours. If they complain, tell them how long the line is at that point and welcome them to come and sit for themself.

I was thinking about visiting Best Buy or another store locally which has long lines early and bringing a grill and hotdogs, pop, coffee, etc and was wondering if you all think it would be a good idea to show up and sell them to the people in line. Also, anyone know if I need a business liscence to do it ? I think it would be a good way to help out the people in line, give me a few extra dollars, and have some fun but it won't be worth it if I go to jail for doing it. Also, anyone know if the GD tshirts come in fat sizes ? (i.e. 4 - 5x) Man I want one... I am not really thinking of going BF shopping but would sooo wait in a line all night wearing the shirt and interviewing people who have been to or heard of the site.

Last year the crowd was around the building at 5pm Thanksgiving day... the previous year (when I went) it wasn't like that until about 1am on BF morning so it is definitely getting rougher and tougher out there. Tips to keep in mind, alot of stuff they sell on BF is junk (i.e. their dvd-r bundles which error more than work) and be sure to browse the internet for reviews on this high dollar choices before you run down there and buy it. An old friend got the 54" (or maybe it was 64".. big either way) tv on BF last year, paid for their "extended warranty" ripoff and, when it broke down 3 months later (yes, only 3 months), it took them about 5 and a half months to finally repair it. They said it was up to the manufacturer, the manufacturer said it was up to them, and then they brought in outside repair companies who look at it, said what was wrong, and then never showed again to repair anything. BB is VERY sneaky like that so keep that in mind... I never bought top dollar items (thank God) and have never had an issue like that but I saw it first hand so I am very cautious about them now. It may only be the one BB store who does that.. if it is, never go to the Saginaw, MI BB store on Bay Rd.

2 years ago, I got a desktop pc (eMachine with printer and lcd monitor) for $200.. they had the same deal last year but I didn't go because I was saving to build my own pc... cost a bit more but was exactly what I wanted and needed. I am sure BB will have the same deal this year..

I would very much love the same information. I will also keep my eye out and let you know what I find.

Don't be caught cutting in line...2 people did at our to be in line with their nephew (or whatever) and they had the police escort them from the property... not just back of the line but off the property

Little late for this, I apologize, but I hope you called them and ask. Some states don't offer BF sales at all and, instead, offer a gift card, others don't offer that.

I don't think you should have to "stay" there per-say (sic) My wife came with me for company and not to buy anything and she sat in for me so I could sit in the car for awhile and I ran home once, posted some posts on here, and warmed up. Now, if you come alone, no matter how "friendly" you are with those around you, I think you should have to stay. Of course, I let others leave to to the bathroom and whatnot. Some people kinda push it though such as one guy from here who came and spend quite a bit of time at IHOP instead of being in line. He also came after many people and cut in line (kinda) He asked people if it was ok (which was cool) and they didn't mind but I am sure others would have wanted his hide for it. He was behind me so it was not an issue for me...let em all cut BEHIND me. Haha The fact is, if you come later and your friends are way up, visits are fine BUT go back to YOUR place in the line. First come, first serve. I got there at 3:30 pm the day before, why are they complaining about being there at 10 pm ?

So who all plans on visiting Best Buy on Black Friday next year ? If not, what sotre do you plan on going to. I know many visit numerous stores so I am asking about the one you will be camped out for / wait in line for first.
