  1. Now that some of the BF ads are out: Dell, BB, Staples, Office Max - would like an update on the thread. I'm looking for one with windows 7 that can burn dvd's/cd's (at least 1 optical drive, 2 would be nice), reasonable memory/HD space - it's used for some graphics work (resizing etc), internet, some games (low end online), and word/excel. LCD monitor would be nice, printer not needed (unless there is no driver for windows 7 for my HP 1310 printer/scanner).
  2. I'm impressed with the ad. There are somethings I want - the 5.00 PJ's, the 3.00 coffee maker (I need a spare), the mini tv and the DSI. I wonder if I can get stuff Wednesday during the day and price adjust (probably can get the PJ's at least).
  3. Can anyone see what games are on the Mario one? That would be perfect for my son.
  4. I heard that the 5 games with the DSi were being preloaded (downloaded on to it?) Does anyone know what games are in the bundle?
  5. Select stores for Saturday would be the ones in Bergen County, NJ = Lodi, Paramus, Elmwood Park (I think there is one there).
  6. We also got the same deal on the 32" Samsung at Sears and love it.
  7. Do you think there will be good deals on Windows 7 Desktops? I'm in the market for one.
  8. I left the house around 5:30 and came home around 10 AM - I hit Staples, CVS, Walgreens, Sears, Target, Gymboree, another CVS and then Rite Aide. Got just about all I wanted - couldn't get the razor at CVS. Was able to get the 10" TV at Walgreens which is pretty nice (just myself and one other person there at 7 AM, the other person wanted something else). Have a bunch of rebates to fill out for Staples, Walgreens and Rite Aide. Our Gymboree and Mall were very dead at around 9 AM - not sure if this was because it was an upscale mall and is usually quieter or not - Gymboree was fully stocked and the Gap in the same mall had someone sitting on the floor restocking boys socks which isn't something you'd think they'd have time to do on BF.
  9. I was fussy about Staples letting 16 in at a time at 6 AM. But it did work out - and it wasn't mayhem that could lead to a disaster like this (they said someone was hurt last year with the crowds)
  10. Hit our local kmart around 1:30. Wanted slippers for me, didnt fit. Saw snowboots for DS (been looking everywhere) got them. Left DH and DS in toys - they found 1/2 price hot wheels. When we went online, we had to wait for the person in front of us to have a price check. Then we we got inline, the 10 pack of cars rang up 1/2 price, but not the tricky track. Associate eventually got a price check and we got it at 1/2 price. Store was pretty dead, but probably had sign issues - another customer left complaining about signs for 1/2 price sweaters and not getting something that was near the sign. Our kmart tends to be disorganized a bit it seems. (I remember when Kmart first started opening on t-day in the late 80's or early 90's. It didn't go over to well with store employees - my ex-MIL was a store manager.)
  11. My 6 year old son got the arena and 2 balls as a birthday gift from a friend in October. I went out after that and bought some more balls (and some cards) - I gave him 1 more ball so far (the others are rewards or chanunka/xmas gifts). I guess I got them before the big rush hit. A hint - since my son ripped the arena box when opening it and I couldn't save it for storage, I found an old backpack and put the folded arena in the big pocket and the balls/cards in a smaller zippered pocket. It works well.

    xD Memory

Anyone seen any deals (BF or not) on xD memory cards - I love my Olympus Camera, but hate the propriatary xD memory cards
  13. My son would love the 4 lane Hot Wheels Raceway. I probably can stroll in on BF and get it - not likely to be massive lines for that one!
  14. Sears has the Samsung TV at 499 also - and they have the same price at this weekend's friends and family sale.
  15. Any of the "freebie" type items - memory sticks, CD's, DVD's etc? Staples is usually my first stop for that stuff.
  16. Rite Aid has a converter box for 40.00 this week! So we paid 2.80 for it due to tax
  17. We took my son on BF 2002 when he was 6 weeks old. But I don't think we've taken him since. The routine the past few years has been for me to head out to Staples @ 5 AM and DH stays home with my son and internet shops. (It's a lot easier to get up in the wee hours of the morning to shop online, especially with your child sleeping in the next room!)
  18. Some places in NJ have a 3% tax vs the regular rate. Several places I know that do that are Patterson, Elizabeth and Jersey City. It's good to know for large item purchases. I miss being 1/2 hour from New Hampshire. When I lived in Mass, if the item was expensive and could FIT in my car, I bought it in NH (computers, furniture, skis etc).
  19. If you have a converter box coupon already, Rite Aid has one on sale this week for 40.00. We paid 2.80 due to tax - if you live in a tax free state, it's free! (At that price it might be worth getting as a spare in case the cable goes out).
  20. PC Richard is on my list to check out - I purchased a 32" Samsung for a family member there recently and was impressed with their in store service, they took the time to take the TV out of the box and check it before I left. A small thing, but it saves a trip!
  21. Online - Gymboree on Thursday AM - all but 1 item I wanted Today: Hit Staples around 5:30. Way too far back for a laptop ticket. Doors opened at 6 - grabbed my 2 items off the table in front and checked out. Out at 6:03 AM Then Target - ran for the Dinoco 400 Cars, they had tons. Went to get ladies clothing and also some play food/pots for a charity gift. Checked out about 6:45. Walgreens - very few people waiting at 6:50 AM (including someone waiting for the ATM). Got everything I wanted including the telescope, tide, helicopter and keychain. Helicopter ran up as not for sale (manager said it had been recalled and cancelled) - they sold it to me anyway. Also got a razor but they couldn't find the rebate - left my name and number. Back to Target to return extra Dinocar Car set and a few other things. Looked around again (still had a 10% off bonus from charge card for the day). Found the turtleneck I wanted for my son which I couldn't find Wednesday. Checked out again - headed to Sears. Sears - picked up clothes for me and a clearance T shirt for 2.33 for my son. Will try them on at home. Meanwhile my husband called me that Walgreens had the rebate forms. So I went back to Walgreens and then off to CVS. CVS - B1G1F on toys including the 9.99 Hot Wheel Playset. They had disney princess play dishes I needed for my charity gift also. So, not a bad day.
  22. I was in my store around 6:10 and they were putting them on the shelves. (I didn't need one)
  23. Do you think the 17" monitors and bluetooth headphones will be very hot items? I usually get to my Staples around 5:30 and do ok. But it took forever last year waiting in line in the store for them to get out the limited items from behind the shipping counter (over an hour).
  24. Does anyone know which DVD's are good with burned DVD's? Family members have the Phillips DVD player from Circuit City but it doesn't seem to work on all burned DVD's. Our old Apex did this very well, but it's freezing up randomly while playing and needs to be retired.
