  1. My friend and I ran into another girl we knew from work on Black Friday. We were waiting to get into Target and discussing our strategy. When we got in there this other girl took off to the dvd section and whipped a dvd at my friend. The dvd flew over my friends head and over two aisles almost hitting someone else. This girl was trying to be helpful, but is way too enthusiastic.
  2. I love shopping anytime, but Black Friday just seems special. Plus it's a tradition now for me and my friend. I also like seeing all the people.
  3. 1. Best Black Friday ad had to me Target for me personally. I bought the most stuff there and I liked the dvds they had on sale. 2. As for advice- I tell people to check out Gotta Deal and to go shopping with a friend or group. It's helpful if you need to split up and search for something. 3. I would like it if stores offered coffee and donuts too or some kind of free souvenier would be nice.
  4. I voted for about the same. Although, if I find a lot in the ads it will definitely be more. I'm sure my friend I shop with will spend more. She recently adopted a 2 year old boy and I know she will want to spoil him!

    Teacher Gifts

Yes, agree. I watch two year olds all day and I am always grateful when parents think of us. The best present I have received have been a gift card to Kohls ($10) and Bath and Body Works lotion. If your child goes to a large child care center you could always ask the director for ideas.
  6. Yes, I had lots of fun even though I didn't need that much. The lines moved quickly and everyone was very polite. My BF gottadeal t-shirt was a big hit too!
  7. First stop is Kohls. I don't really need anything from there, but they open first (might get some shoes for myself). Then Farm and Fleet by 6 (my friend needs 2 $15 dog beds) and then to Target for cds and dvds. After that to Wal-Mart and maybe to Home Depot for the phones.
  8. Kohl's is first because they open first at 4. Then Wal-Mart as long as we can be done before Target opens at 6.
  9. I wear a long sleeve shirt, t-shirt (my new Gootadeal BF shirt this year), sweatshirt, Columbia coat, ear muffs, mittens, jeans, and running shoes. It's always freezing here. The coat and sweatshirt will come off once we're inside the store.
  10. I haven't got one yet. I hope I get one soon. I have a Target Visa so you'd think they would send me one.
  11. I have to shop with someone or I get lonely. Plus my friend usually guards the cart and I go down the aisles and grab what we need.
  12. I have $400 saved. I usually like to shop with cash but on BF I use credit cards. It's so much easier and safer. I just pay them off asap.
  13. Most of the stores are only a few blocks away from my house. Although, there has been some talk of driving 45 minutes away this year to hit some stores we don't have here (JcPenneys, Sears, and some other mall stores).
  14. I got my Christmas cds out last week and started listening to them at home by myself (or my DH would make fun of me too). I wanted to start playing them at work ( I work in child care with 2 year olds) but my co-teacher says not until after Halloween:(
  15. I still have to buy mine too. I usually have all the cards signed and addressed already, but I can't find any I like. I think I'm falling behind this year.
  16. early morning sales old ladies yelling at us car full of presents
  17. I think it's been about 14 years now. I have gone with several different people over the years as it's hard to find someone who shares my enthusiasm for BF. Although the past 5 years has been with the same person.
  18. Last year was probably the most memorable. At Kohls my friend and I got yelled at for line jumping (although I promise you we did not and would not ever do that), next some lady accused me of stealing her cart at Wal-mart (again not true), then my friend lost me at Wal-mart and had me paged. Very embarassing. I'm hoping things go smoother this year.
  19. I work for a child care and they consider the day after Thanksgiving a holiday. Thankfully my boss is a big BF fanatic so I know we will always be closed BF. It's probably the main reason I will never leave that job. I would be heartbroken if I had to work BF.
  20. I wish the stores would go back to givng out free stuff for the first 100 or so people thru the door. Whether it would be donuts and coffee or a Christmas ornament or special coupons. That really added to the fun when they would do that.
  21. I always intend to get just stuff for friends and family, but somehow by the time I get home half the stuff is for me:cheesy:
  22. Oh yeah! Definitely antsy. My friend/co-worker go every year and we have been planning strategies for this year since the begining of September.
  23. My name is Kayla. I've been going out on black friday for the past 13 years, but only found this website two years ago. So now I'm more organized about it. I've been married for 3 1/2years and have two dogs ( a border collie and a mini dachshund) and one spoiled cat. I work in child care with two year olds. Thankfully the child care I work at is closed on Black Friday. My boss is a big BF shopper too!
