  1. She still teases me about it . Lesson learned - never go Black Friday shopping without your phone.
  2. This wasn't funny to me, but my Black Friday shopping partner thought it was hilarious. We lost each other in the crowd while shopping at Walmart (no surprise) and she couldn't find me and I didn't have a cell phone so after 10 minutes of looking she had me paged over the intercom! It was very embarrassing, but she couldn't stop laughing.
  3. I'll probably start decorating in the next couple weeks. I put up my Halloween/Thanksgiving decorations in early September so I can enjoy them because I know I'll never be able to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate. Lol. I like my house to feel like Christmas after I get home from Black Friday shopping so I decorate early.
  4. I'm sorry I missed that Hallmark planner. I make my own planner every year from notebook paper, a folder, and colored sharpies. It doesn't fit in my purse, but I bring it along and leave it in the car for reference during my Christmas shopping trips.
  5. As a poor college student those freebies were everything to me!
  6. Wow, I'm not sure. 1997 I think? Of course back then I didn't pay much attention to the ads and I didn't have much money. I went mostly just for fun and to get all the free stuff they gave out - bags of free samples, Christmas ornaments, donuts, . . . Now I love finding the best deals, but I still miss the free gifts.

It also comes in pink.

  9. I find I've been shopping more online for gifts, but in store for myself . It's easier to sit at home in the quiet and figure out what to get each person and how much I have left to spend on each person. Keeping track of everyone's gifts can be overwhelming sometimes in the store.
  10. Yeah! I'm happy to be part of the holiday card and gift exchange this year! Thank you for letting me join.
  11. I just started my shopping this past weekend online. I know more things I want to buy for people, but I'm trying to hold for better deals. There is usually some great deals on pjs, slippers, and blankets on Black Friday.
  12. I love lip balm and lip gloss and there are a ton of different flavors so I usually fill my own stocking with those . My new favorite is olive oil and lemon by Nivea.
  13. Counting this years shirt I'll have two. Sorry I missed the pink one, but this years version looks nice.

    Christmas Shows

I like to watch Trapped in Paradise starring Nicolas Cage to get me in the Christmas mood. It seems to be a forgotten Christmas movie, but it always makes me laugh.
  15. In the past it's always been Target, but our Target closed so that makes Kohls a must stop.
  16. 1. Urban camping 2. I hope no one is in front of me. 3. Santa!
  17. Kohls usually has good deals on slippers and maybe some sheet sets like others have suggested. Lol. Nothing too exciting. I'm sure I'll find more stuff I need by Black Friday.
  18. Definitely credit since it is faster and easier. I do carry some cash as back up because the credit card machines went down briefly at Target one year where I shop so using cash let us check out quickly instead of waiting.

  23. My recipe is for Simply Super Crescent Cinnamon Rolls. I make them every Christmas morning just like my mom did. They are delicious, but sticky:) 2/3c finely chopped pecans 1/3c brown sugar 1/3c powdered sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4c butter, softened 2- 8oz cans crescent dinner rolls Glaze- 1c powdered sugar 1 tbsp butter, softened 2 to 3 tbsp milk Preheat oven to 375. Combine first 5 ingredients in small bowl. Separate one can rolls into 2 large rectangles. Overlap long sides to form 13x7" rectangle, frimly press edges & perforations to seal. Spread with nut mixture. Separate second can of rolls into 2 rectangles. Place over nut filling and press to seal. Cut into 8 13" strips and roll each into a coil. Place in ungreased 13x9" pan. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Combine glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls. Serve warm. Makes 8 large rolls.
