Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
afrey66 replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I thought the $12.xx was way too high for the Puppies. I did buy them at 50% off but found them today at 75% off. I repurchased them and then returned them with the more expensive receipt. I scored the 3 Kelly Dolls at $1.24 each. Thanks to the poster who said to check the Barbie aisle. I still haven't found the LPS; even in the regular toy section. Oh well...c'est la vie. -

I bought the broom vac for me because I have a bad back. (I get cortisone shots every 3 months.) Believe it or not, sweeping kills my back. I'm hoping this helps out. -

I went perusing at lunch and managed to get one of the broom vacuums for $24.xx - I know some of you have found it 75% off, but if I wait I know I will miss them. I do that too. If there is something I really want, I won't wait. I just happened to luck out when I found the broom vac. I was ready to pay full price! -

That rationale doesn't even make sense because when you get right down to it, everything bought on clearance is getting money for free. You are saving it over what it originally would've cost. To me, that is the same thing. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. -

I'm sorry, I didn't notice the colors. I haven't opened mine yet. But yes, I bought 2 of them at $12.48 each. The broom vacs were the silver and the aqua looking color. -

It's funny because I had been doing this at Target for years but almost feel as if I've found a sorority for it. lol I am always on the hunt for the red clearance signs or the clearance endcaps. That's my method. Or if there is something that I like, I won't buy it at full price because I know Target will either put it on sale and will eventually put it on clearance. They cycle through their clothes so quickly that I NEVER buy clothes at regular price. With the other departments, there are time of the year when the whole section is reset so many items get cleared out. I hope this helps and . :) -

Sorry for the long post. I faired pretty well yesterday. I didn't get the Margarator for 75% off. I figured I would miss out since I wasn't able to get to the Target first thing in the AM like I had wanted. Oh well, wasn't meant to be. I did get a bunch of Valentine's Day items. My DD starts school in August and I probably bought enough Valentine's for her to give out for a few years. lol At $1 a box, I thought it was worth stocking up. I found a cute T-Shirt for her to wear next year. This woman was not letting anyone look at the T's and the VDay towels, etc. She totally blocked that section. She seemed a little annoyed when I started reaching over her (I did say excuse me...lol). She had put a T-Shirt down that I had wanted. She must've seen me looking at it to check the size and she snatched it back up. Ohhhh, I wanted to . I felt a little naughty because I kept thinking if she puts that shirt down, I'm taking it! And this sounds bad but I would've taken it not only because I wanted it but also because she was being rude. (I feel like I'm going to confession right now...lol) There was another nice lady looking at the pocket puppy things. I had only found one but she had found 3 and 2 that were different from the ones that I had. She was sweet and shared with me. to her if she's on this board (even if she's not). I also got some misc. VDay towels and stuff. I found a cute set of washcloths for my daughter's bathroom. I'll keep them on the sink for her to use instead of my hand towels. Do any other kiddos do this or just mine??? There are other washcloths available but she seems to always want to use the hand towels. Anyway, she was excited that her washcloths to wash her face and hands have hearts on them. Maybe this will resolve the issue. I was only able to stop at one other Target as I had my DD without a nap and my great-niece with me (taking care of her this weekend). Not to mention is was cold and rainy. The second stop was worth the trip. I found two of the VDay Play-Doh sets. I'll split one package up between daughter, Goddaughter and niece. The other I will save for VDay for my daughter's kindergarten class. (I'm thinking it'll last as long as it all stays sealed?? Any opinions??) Between the BF sales at Target, the after Christmas sales and Target and this, my daughter has enough PD until she graduates college. :) I did buy some other misc. VDay items. My dog is set with chewies for awhile and the kitties will like their new VDay balls. :) I did hit the mother load with the Dirt Devil items (one of the things for which I was on a hunt yesterday). The Target closet to me had the Broom Vacs and the Kurv hand helds regular price when I was in there the day before. I decided I was going to buy one regardless (even at regular price) and then see if they had any left when they finally put them on clearance. They had moved them to a clearance endcap. I thought oh cool, I'll at least I'll get it for 30% off. I am happy to report that they went from regular price to 75% off!!!!!!! (They were not ticketed....just set on the end cap). I bought the broom vac AND the Kurv....each were $12.48. :2woot: I bought a set for my friend and broom vac for my nephew as well. There were a few left so I told a few ladies (after I loaded up my cart, of course) that were in the area. They were pretty happy that I shared the deal. It made me feel good to help out other ladies (even though I didn't tell them until after I had picked out what I wanted .) I'm still on the hunt for the LPS Valentine's Day (I'll have to check the toy section). I would like to get a Margarator but I can live if I don't. Maybe it'll be like the roaster and I'll find it down the road. -

I don't even bother waiting for the holiday stuff to go 75% off. If I see stuff I want when it's 50% off, I get it then. Better to get it at 50% off than not at all. -

I'm sorry that you can't leave work. I'm being held prisoner by rain and a sinus migraine. I want to go but I'm moving VERY slowly this morning. I have some things to do (darn chores) before I can go play. -
Check the grocery stores too.

I went to Target to buy kitty food and of course, you can't go in without surfing the endcaps. Boy, I'm glad I did. I FINALLY found the Rival 16 quart roaster on clearance. Now I knew that it would come up $0.00. I scanned it to be sure. And of course it did. So I took it to Customer Service. I explained to the guy that I knew it had been on clearance but now it was coming up without a price. So he tries it...same thing. Then he calls for a manager. The manager comes over and goes, yes these were on clearance and went to get the other machine to scan it. He comes back, scans it and goes you are going to get one heck of a deal. It was marked down 75% from $34.98....I GOT THE ROASTER FOR $8.74!!!! I just about jumped up and down right there at the service desk. lol I did tell them I was pretty happy because I had searched high and low for one when they were clearanced earlier. He asked where I found this one. I said it was on the bottom shelf where the towels were (just waiting for me...hee hee). On a separate note, I saw the Margarators, the wine coolers, the small refrigerators and other assorted items like that for 75% off. I also saw some portable DVD players at 50% off. I didn't have the money today (darn it, the day before payday!) but will be back at Target when first thing when they open! I figured with it being Valentine's Day, Target should be pretty empty tonight so the deals should be there in the AM. That is unless the employees get them. All I want is the Margarator. I didn't think to use it for slushes but that would be awesome for kid's parties. -
Check grocery stores too. I'm trying to say no, no, no to the candy...lol Of course Easter candy is starting to show up in the stores.

In 2006, I did all of my toy Christmas shopping during the summer toy clearance. :) I am going through clearance withdrawals too. -
No, they don't backorder. And just because I had placed the order and THEY rejected it (still can't think of why!!), they can't find this item for me. She did tell me that if I find it in stock again they will honor the price. I wanted to say if I find it in stock again I'll get the price anyway, I want the merchandise!!

Whenever holiday stuff goes on clearance, I buy what I feel I can't live without when it goes 50% off. If there are still items left at 75% off, then I may buy more. To me finding stuff at 75% off is just gravy. I did this at Christmas and bought the stuff I had been eyeing since before Christmas when it went 50% off. I figured I would rather pay a few more dollars than miss out completely. And at 50% off, I'm still getting a great deal. Sometimes I luck out and find the same item at 75% off that I bought at 50% off and of course, I repurchase it and return the item with the higher priced receipt. -
I feel the same way. I thought I had it the other night only to find out Kohl's rejected my order!!!!! There was no explanation nor did I receive an email. My order did not show under my normal order status but I could see it when I typed in the order number. It kept showing at Submitted so I called yesterday to find out what was going on. She said the order had been rejected but couldn't tell me why!!! So close but so far! I figured when it's time, I will get this set!

I haven't been finding any good deals recently. This is probably a good thing since my wallet feels as if it needs a rest. -
