Boy you guys are certainly more generous than me! I've never even seen our mailman, garbage man and paperboy. Plus the fact that since we live in a townhome community I have to walk to block to get my mail "outside". Nope, my taxes are about 2,500 a year for virtually a postage stamp piece of property and the prices I pay for garbage/water combined, forget it. I can't get away without a $65.00 a month bill. Last month it was $128 because I had a running toilet. Nope, they get paid well enough. Sorry to be a scrooge.

I don't think so. When my son was little he was totally in love with Marie Osmond so I got him the Marie doll. Then Baby Brother Tender Love came out and it was anatomically correct. It was so cute I haD to have it so I bought it for him. He used to take his dolls to bed. He's fine today and has a family of his own! LOL

Ok, so you purchase a fairly large big ticket item for a gift and the price is after rebate. You usually have to send in the UPC code, receipt and all, so what do you do if you are giving this item as a gift? I hate rebates!

I see that Kohl's is selling electronics...is this something they bring in just for the holidays? I never see any electronics at my stores here in Illinois.

I need the same information, just was searching the threads for this. I'm kind of leaning towards that HP, any opinions?

Do you stow away money here and there without your s/o knowing? I try to save about $5 per day and just stash it in a section of my wallet, then when I get a large amount I'll take it out. Sometimes I spend a little, but if I am diligent, I can come up with a huge chunk for the year.

How much are the ink cartridges? I know I'm fed up with my printer hooked up to my pc, it always needs ink. Cause I was thinking of that deal too!

Ok, I work for two attorneys, one of which JUST started a couple of weeks ago. I know etiquette says you don't have to do anything but I suppose I should get them each a little something. Any suggestions? Oh, BTW, last year there was another attorney I worked for that is no longer there. The day before Christmas one of the other secretaries practically ordered him to get me a gift...he did alright, $15 worth of McDonald's gift certificates. Sheesh!

I have given silver jewelry in the past, chains, etc. They can be very inexpensive on sale and they make a nice presentation.

I'm the first to admit I spoil my GD rotten. Its just like an obsession with me. She's almost three and one day I went over there about six months ago, I walked in and she says "what did you bring, Grandma?" I said nothing, she disappears and her mother finds her in the powder room crying...she said "why are you crying" and Kylee responds, "Because grandma didn't bring me anything." You see, almost every week I show up there with something. Its a good thing they have a big house and she has a large playroom. I figure I've spent around $700 for her bd (12/12 and Christmas). She does have way too much. She still has a couple things put away from last year she hasn't gotten yet, like a vanity and the bella dance studio thing. Then on top of me, her other grandmother buys too! Its like TRU over there.

I bought this year's on sale at Joann's last year for 25 cents a roll!

My Christmas bonus sucks...it was like 250 last year, or maybe even 200. I remember at another firm when I used to get a week and a half's paycheck. The worst thing is here, its called a year-end bonus and they aren't given out till after the first of the year and included in your paycheck so the taxes are higher and you can't even hide it from hubby!

You know I actually thought about those, but I didn't know they came in pink. I also thought about going to Joanne's (with a coupon of course) to see if they had an unpainted trunk or something and then maybe stain it. I did a little wooden box for her last week and painted Ariel on it and she loved it.
