  1. Candy has a long shelf like, the fudge I put in tupperware or ice cream buckets. It stays good. The covered pretzels would stay fresh forever. I save the divinity until the last week as it will get stale. Homemade marshmallows also last forever. Buckeys stay good also. It's all sugar, sugar doesn't go bad. The fudge will get hard after a few months I guess, but my mom just puts hers in tins and it stays fresh a very long time. My mom makes spritz cookies and starts same time as me. She stores hers in tins and they stay fresh . She sent them to my son in Iraq. THey stay good for a long time also.
  2. They are trying to get rid of all the old stuff to get the boutique sections going. THey said it could take a long time. It will be stores inside of stores.
  3. Me too, usually a pack of socks works good and is close by the registers.
  4. At my house it's Christmas Salad. My grandma died in January,. she had made it as long as my mom could remember. She was 93 and I started making it about 5 years ago when she couldn't anymore. I use the recipe written in her handwriting from many years ago. It'a a jello cream cheese layer salad. I am the candy maker in the family. I start right after thanksgiving and make everything. I make up about 15 trays to give out. Last year I made a new favorite. Peanut butter almond bark. It's my new favorite. It's just one pound white almond bark, 1 jar peanut butter, and a half package or full package of mini marshmallows. Melt the almond bark, stir in peanut butter and marshmallows, spread out on flat surface. Let cool break in pieces > I put mine in a huge sheet pan and cut for a cleaner look. Makes tons and is so good.
  5. You can't do that in every store and I for one think it's cheating. Walmart gets stuff in with special bar codes that don't scan only on black friday.
  6. I buy all year, but have a xmas club that I buy the big gifts on black friday. I have a few of those bought already though, like the kindle and my grandkids tablets. I have too many presents to do it all in one day. Each of my own kids get about 12 presents and my grandkids get about 6 each. . I average about 100 presents total.
  7. Amazon prices change hourly. When that happens to me I call them and they usually give it back to me. The digital perks r supposed to be added benefits, but they were really losing with so ,any people including me, buying 1 or 2.00 items and having them shipped prime. I live 10 miles in the country. It was ridiculous. sometimes I would laugh t the ups guy for bringing me that 1.00 package.
  8. I have 3 or 4 big tv boxes. I wrap and store by family. I don't put the bows on until they go under teh tree.
  9. Add ons have been a thing for close to a year now. I found out about it while on the kindle forums. It's mainly for people who use the super saver shipping. IT's not items amazon usually sells. They are put on there for people using the free super saver shipping which requires a 25.00 purchase. Plus it was costing them too much to ship us some items that were only a couple of dollars .
  10. I bought a 10.00 shirt. I waited for her to tell me the tax. She said that's 0. IT's 10 and coupons 10 so it cancel's it out, it's 0. THe percent off is a special sale that's only good on clearance and it's just through this weekend. They don't do it off regular clothes.
  11. Its good thru the weekend according to the text I got
  12. My dad fishes and we ride horses, but I ran out of ideas for his birthday. He loves peanuts so I bought him a 5 gallon bucket of peanuts.
  13. We have bought the dremel sets for several years.
  14. I second that. All the books on my kindle were free. All 1000 of them.
  15. My husbands is a Milwaukee, but it is 20 years old. He says Milwaukee tools are no longer made well and not to buy them. You can use them for anything. Cutting a bolt, a tree limb, a small piece of plastic, it's like a small electric hand saw. He used it today to cut the tail pipe on my son's project truck.
  16. Its still a toy. I bought mine tablets. Our school is going all tablet next year, from kinderg up. They need to use them
  17. I doesnt say refurbished. It says used with a 6 rating. No way.
  18. No wind could lift mmine. I can barely move it. Its a Jump King
  19. No , it's cowboom and it's a preowned kindle that may have scuffs or scratches. IT says 199 retail , which is incorrect since amazon dropped the price to 150 and upgraded the fire. IT is not a good deal in my opinion . It lists the condition as a 6.
  20. Some insurance companies don't care, others won't allow it. Call yours first and ask. I just switched companies after telling them I had the thing over 10 years and why complain now. Mine now said they don't care. IT's country mutual, or country companies. Allied said no way. But most of the houses in town have them and don't care, they rent and don't have insurance. Only the homeowners who have homeowners insurance have that problem with insurance companies. Weirdly, they didn't care about my big swimming pool. We strictly enforce the 1 child at a time rule. THey bounce into each other and that 's when they get hurt.
  21. You can't read nook books on your kindle unless you sideload a nook app.
  22. Actually a family here has a pot belly pig as a pet. I had a pet pig as a kid also. THere is a family on the news here with a girl that got a pot belly pig as a bday present. It's housebroken, but the city doesn't allow livestock and doesn't consider it a pet. IT's been in teh news for months.
  23. There is still an advantage to buying from amazon and that is the customer service. There was a woman on the forums that had a dead kindle and staples wouldn't take it back because it was 1 day after her return period . All amazon would do was replace it and she was just mad and wanted her money back. If you buy from amazon at xmas time, you have until Jan 31 for a full refund , if you don't , you abide by the rules of the store you bought it from.
  24. Why do you say that's a 150 discount when 200 is it's regular price. You aren't really saving anything at all if you buy from amazon you pay the straight 200.00. If you buy from Staples, you pay tax and get the gift card,
  25. Dinner is always noon , no matter what the holiday. At xmas we open presents afterwards. EVeryone drives to my parents next door, after dinner, we do dishes, visit and people like to get home at a decent hour.
