  1. Forgive me if this has already mentioned, but does anybody know what time most Staples going to open? I skimmed the topic but all I could see was people suggesting how long you wanna be there before they open.
  2. Not for myself. My brother recently gave me his 8GB Creative Zen Microphoto after he upgraded to a larger size MP3 player. So I don’t really need it. I might pick up one for my Mom, though.
  3. You weren't kidding. Thanks for posting though.
  4. You must have gotten a different MP3 player than I did because the Sandisk Sansa Doorbuster that I got last year didn't have a rechargeable battery in it. I kept having to replace the battery every 15 hours or so. Edit: Whoops, I misread your post. I see now that you're talking about this year’s model. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a delete post function here at gottadeal, so the best that I can do is insert this note and say, my bad.
  5. Excellent. Thanks for posting this.
  6. It's too bad that there's only a couple of CompUSA's left in my state. There's actually a few things of interest in that ad. Nothing worth driving 50 miles for though. Especially when I've got other things at other stores that I wanna get on BF.

    Comp USA??

Wow, I just did a store locater search for CompUSA stores in my area and found only 2 in Massachusetts. The closest of which is 44 miles away from me. I knew that they had closed a few stores, (including the one that was only 2 miles away from me) but I had no idea how many stores had been closed. Guess I can cross CompUSA off of my potential BF places of interest list.
  8. I too have been looking for Graphics Cards this year, so I've made note of any appearance in the ads at any stores near me. So far, list has only two entries. Best Buy Visiontek ATI Radeon HD2600 Pro 256MB 16x PCI e Graphics Card $100 And Circuit City Visiontek ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro 256MB 16x PCI e Graphics Card $50 Kinda slim pickings thus far. Hopefully Newegg has something because neither of those two cards that I listed are much of a bargain.
  9. Most excellent! Computer upgrades happen to be a big priority for me this year. I can’t wait to see what they have.
  10. Super Mario Galaxy $35.00 Sims 2 (for PC) $5 Sims 2 Celebration Stuff $5 Sims 2 Glamour Stuff $5 Sandisk 2GB SD Card $20 w/ $13 mail in rebate And I'm thinking about: Visiontek ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro 256MB 16x PCI e Graphics Card $50 and either Western Digital 1TB External Hard Drive $250 w/ $50 mail in rebate or Seagate 500GB External Hard Drive $130 w/ $50 mail in rebate
  11. I'm not surprised that it got yanked. I remember the same thing happening last year. Good thing I downloaded the ad.
  12. Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying that for me Indy2424.
  13. I got the MP3 player that they had last year and I had no trouble getting it even though I didn’t get there until around 7 AM. I had called the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to ask how many they had in stock (so I could gauge my chances of getting one if I got there after they opened) and found out that they had a good deal more than the ad guaranteed. Last year the MP3 player came in silver and pink and the ad guaranteed 40 and 20 respectively. When I called to ask how many they had in stock, it turned out that, between the two colors, they had over 750 in stock. So I figured that there was no way that they’d run through 750 MP3 players in the first few hours. And as it turned out, I was right. They still had a ****load of them left when I got there. I can’t guarantee that your Best Buy will have that many in stock, but I’m sure that they’ll have a good deal more than the 90 minimum that the ad guarantees. Give em a call on the 21st to get an idea of what they have.
  14. Is it possible that this is just a regional ad? I am in need of a new computer chair, so I took interest in the one listed in this ad. I decided to look it up online to get a better look at the chair, but when I entered in the item description (including several variations using only one or two words from the description) I couldn’t find the item. That puzzled me for a moment. But then I remembered that Staples makes you enter in your Zip Code so that they can tailor the results of your search so that only the items that are available in your area are shown. Is it possible that the chair I looked up (as well as other items in the ad) might not be available in my area?
  15. Ah, I see. Not what I had hoped for, but it's better than mailing the rebate in. Thanks for clearing this up for me. :)
  16. I bought an internal Hard Drive at Best Buy last year, so I guess I have a little of experience in this matter. Although, I have no idea if an external hard drive will be a hotter item than an internal. In any event, here’s my advice regarding your chances buying it in-store. Last year I asked a similar question on this board and I was told that by and large, computer upgrade items tend to be overlooked by the first wave of BF shoppers. Most early arrivers will be looking to get a cheep TV, Laptop or MP3 player. I had asked if I needed to get in line at midnight or so to get the HD (as well as a new DVD-RW drive and a video card) and everyone agreed that I could just sashay into Best Buy around 9AM and still get what I wanted. They where right. It was also suggested that I call my Best Buy on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to ask how many of the items that I wanted that they had in stock. I can’t remember everything that I had on my list, but I do recall they said that they had a minimum of 10 Hard drives, but when I called, it turned out that they had 83 of them in stock. Also, I wanted an MP3 player that they had as a doorbuster and the ad said they had 40 silver and 20 pink. Tuned out that between the two colors, they had over 750 of them in stock. So even though it says they’ll have a minimum of a certain amount in stock, there will likely be a good deal more than the number listed. The key word is Minimum.
  17. I see from looking at the adscan that several items are listed as being a certain price after an “Easy Rebate". What exactly is this? I’m guessing that it’s just Staples’ term for in instant savings. At least I hope it’s what it is, because I wanna stay away from items that require you to mail in a rebate.

    Lowes BF ad

Thanks for posting this. There’s only a few items in the ad that I might have had interest in buying, but I’ve already purchased them over the past six months. So it looks like I wont be going to Lowes on BF.
  19. Nice. I just had a Linens-N-Things open up near me. Too bad about not being able to use the coupon on the doorbuster items, though.
  20. I found a few things of interest in the ad. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. Though, I'll have to wait until the Best Buy & Staples ads come out (both stores are within a stone's throw of Office Max where I live) before I say that I'm definitely going to Office Max on BF.
  21. I second that. A lot of those discs are in less than perfect condition. Thanks for the head's up.
  22. First of all, sorry if this is the wrong forum in which to post this question. I figured that even though I’m asking about an online store, it’s really more of a BF question. Anyway, my brother gave my mother a $150 gift certificate to Amazon for her birthday and since it’s so close to BF at this point, I was wondering if she might be able to get a little more bang for her buck by holding off on using it for a couple of weeks. Anybody recall if they’ve taken part in the BF festivities in the past?
  23. I’d have to say that I’m not ready yet. The calendar just turned to November, and I’m just now making my first visit to GottaDeal of this season. It’ll take a couple of weeks yet for me to really get ramped up. By that time, several ads should have leaked out. So unlike the rest of you BF addicts, I’ll only have about 10 days of anticipation to sweat out.
  24. Thanks for the input, guys. I’ll pass those sites/stores along to my Mother. If anybody else has any input, it would be greatly appreciated. This is definitely the sort of thing where the more opinions that you get, the better. While I’m at it, let me ask if any of you have ever heard of a web site called http://www.americarx.com? I spoke to my mother earlier this evening and she said that she stumbled upon that site while trying to do a little bit of investigating for herself. She wanted me to ask if anybody out there knew of, or had any experience with them. It’s the first time that I’ve ever heard of that site, but perhaps it’s familiar to somebody out there. If so, could you tell me what you might know about them?
