  1. I've just got to know...what kind of crafting uses a toaster? Can you tell I'm not crafty in the least!
  2. Insignia Blu-ray Disc Player $99.99 Best Buy Samsung 32" Widescreen LCD HDTV $399.99 at Radio Shack Total: 498.00 Since I've already budgeted for the kids...this is for me and the DH in our room!
  3. Actually I just saw the Raspberry one for $149.99 at Amazon and Aqua for $155. Free shipping with Amazon Prime.
  4. Our TRU has a sign up that says 6 AM....can this vary by region or do they have to do what the ad says?
  5. I went with it even at $59....researched the ones that were going to be on sale at Kohls on BF and this is a much nicer deal. Also found new quilt for DS9's new bed! Not really Christmas gifts but definitely stuff I was looking for. Thanks!
  6. LOve my Roomba. It does require upkeep, but I think older folks especially would appreciate it! They probably don't have as much dirt as we do anyway since the kids probably don't live at home anymore...LOL! I bought a refurbished Scooba to mop my kitchen for a great price on Amazon and it works as well as my regular Roomba that was bought new. Refurbished is a good way to get it cheaper and they do have a limited warranty.
  7. I have a Sony and love it but then I don't care about the highlighting, note taking, underlining feature of the Kindle. It does let you download wirelessly however and the Sony does not. You can get the Sony at BooksAMillion. Get a membership/rewards card first and then use your % off to get a discount on the reader.
  8. It's one of the only times I hop out of bed before the alarm...but I like all that leads up to it too. Cruising Gottadeal weeks before hand, checking out the ads, planning the day....my BFF and i get to spend a guilt free day shopping and snacking and spending! I second the earlier poster who said, "Its my favorite day!" Me too.
  9. oops...running out of time and I almost forgot to post...so here goes! I'm not a pumpkin pie fan but I love pecan pie and this one seems to please people from both camps. PUMPKIN LAYER 1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell 1 cup Pumpkin pie filling 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice PECAN LAYER 2/3 cup light corn syrup 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs 3 tablespoons butter, melted 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup pecan halves conversion calculator PREHEAT oven to 350° F. FOR PUMPKIN LAYER: COMBINE pumpkin, sugar, egg and pumpkin pie spice in medium bowl; stir well. Spread over bottom of pie shell. FOR PECAN LAYER: COMBINE corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla extract in same bowl; stir in nuts. Spoon over pumpkin layer. BAKE for 50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
  10. I work for the school system so I've always had BF off....who needs summer break when you have BF? My problem has always been the DH who has to watch the kids while I shop...he prefers it that way. He's in a job now that works M-TH and has Friday's off...thanks goodness. For once I won't have to ask him to take off that day to babysit. Yea me!
  11. For the whole family it has to be the Wii Fit...we're all competing on Shaun White snowboarding! DS8 loves his nerf N strike game for wii and the zip line we put up in the backyard.....or the Deal or No Deal game???? DS6 is all about the army vehicle set (was 60 got it for 20 - thanks gottadeal!) and Wall-E movie. I gave my kids way to much also, but since I got such great deals on everything I could afford more...guess that could backfire, but we've had a blast together playing with it all.
  12. What is a Department 56 store? I thought all of their stuff was sold through gift shops like Hallmark stores and some department stores...are there stores just called Department 56? Wish I could find one!
  13. Are you familiar with the Raving Rabbids games...really crazy games for wii with rabbits? THey have a new one called TV Party for the wii balance board that I got for DS9 and DS6...they love those games! Also, the Sean White snowboarding is supposed to be hot as is the new skateboarding game for the balance board. good luck!
  14. LOL...you must be young! Those of us over 35 have all heard of Sylvania...remember the big furniture style tv's that had a dial to change the channel...all 3 of them...and (gasp) no remote? Yep, we've heard of Sylvania. But you're right, Toshibas are great too.
  15. I feel better knowing I am not the only one still waiting. I ordered 8 dog tags on 11/2...I emailed them 3 days ago and have no response even though it says they will respond in 24-48 hours. I tried calling and all I get it music...when the music ends the call ends. Getting kind of worried...they charged me a month ago and my order has been saying shipped for the same amount of time. I realize its cheap stuff but they really need to work on customer service.
  16. I know these get lots of great reviews and we loved the one we bought my DS6 for our trip to WDW....but don't fall for it!!! Ours broke after about a month...and my son wasn't rough with it at all. So, I returned it and bought another....6 weeks later, same problem. The music simplyh wouldn't play...something kept going wrong with the speakers. I know they should be pretty sturdy and like I said, my son was careful, but these just didn't last. I'm sure many people have great stories but I would say, "don't fall for it...pick something else!" Of course for $12 it may not matter...lol.
  17. Do they really make you wait until 3:00 on Friday when it says the sale begins?
  18. REally wish they had the lip gloss...I remember someone last year saying it was addictive...and they were right on! I had one tube and gave the others away before I tried mine...mistake! But, I did get SIL's present....wrap sweater with scarf shipped for $16...yeah!
  19. I got DS6 this for his birthday in October. Sam's had a great deal where you get this package and the space rover package together for $45. At that time the rover was $15 at Target and this part was $40...so I thought it was a good deal. I've seen sales on this for $35 at best since. I figure I at least broke even;) It can be put together lots of different ways and goes with some other Matchbox sets he has...at least they fit together ....lol. I think your son will love it even if the little alien spaceship drives you crazy with it's sound effects!
  20. So I can go to CVS and get 6 12 packs of cokes for $20 (which I need anyway) and buy Wall-E for $10, use my $5 rebate from MM and use my $3 ECB's and get the movie and cokes for $22? NIce deal! Thanks!
  21. We went through this last year at our house when my son asked why we bought for "poor" kids when Santa brought gifts to all kids. So I told him that even though Santa brings things the parents still have to foot the bill. So he asked why since the elves made the toys...I told him that used to be true but with all the high tech stuff nowadays the elves had to depend on Target and WalMart, etc. to get some of the stuff and it cost money of course. He accepted this....and really enjoyed helping buy and wrap for others. It also stopped the questions....he also knows you have to believe to receive!

    Kids & Santa

I can't even imagine saying the words out loud! I grew up with the rule about not receiving if you don't believe and my kids will do the same. I got Santa gifts until I was 23 and got married! My BFF told her son this year (he's 9) that you know who isn't real....and the Easter Bunny, tooth fairy, et al. I was horrified...I think she kind of ruined the magic. My kids know the real meaning of the season but they also know that Christmas is magical and the myth is part of the magic! Most kids figure it out on their own and they don't really want it to end so they play along.
  23. bopen...can you give me your opinion...I got the Garmin Nuvi 750 from Cotsco for $199...advertised as $100 off...what do you think?
