Happy July everybody! Counting days till I’m next at a race track (31). Missing my track family but enjoying the summer. Considering a trip to Cedar Point this year - now that I’m no longer concerned about fitting in the seats well (this was my reality until I got serious about getting healthy early last year), I figure it’s high time to indulge my love of roller coasters again. After all, it’s only been 20 years since I was last there (yes, really! Where did that time go???). Some updates on my journey: - The scale readings are still trending downward but more slowly these days. No surprise, since I’m down to the last 45-50 lbs that need to leave. - I’ve been doing more working out (both strength and cardio) to build lean muscle. Another reason the scale isn’t dropping faster. Body composition changes over just straight weight loss. - I’ve learned I don’t love running in the heat but I do love the way I feel afterward, especially when I jump into that nice refreshing shower. Seeing the shirt teaser has me wishing I hadn’t whiffed myself out of the club already this year. Fail. lol That said, had a good time at Michigan Int’l Speedway this weekend in spite of the weather that pushed the race to last night. Here’s a pic of me with three of my favorite people in the world. The one on the right is Brad Keselowski’s rear tire changer, Jake, someone I’ve been blessed to call “brother-from-another-mother” for over 10 years. On the left is Jake’s brother (and dear friend of mine) Jordan, with their dad behind us photobombing. [emoji38] Good times.

Hello & happy June 1st from the IndyCar Detroit GP on beautiful Belle Isle! My buddy Crystal (far right) & I got to say hello to our buddies Jon Bennett (L) and Colin Braun ®, drivers of the #54 CORE Autosport IMSA machine. They qualified 11th but we’re hoping to see them on the podium after the checkered flag falls. [emoji4][emoji106][emoji469]

So one of my best friends has a Valentine’s Day birthday. Since he lives a solid 4.5-5 hrs drive away from me, I send him a box with his gifts every year, which always includes a batch of his fave lemon cookies. This year, he actually had the day off so he was home when his box came. He had cookies for lunch. lol [emoji38][emoji106] In other news, I have hit the 115 lb weight loss mark as of this morning. Update on my blue beauty! She is fixable and I will have her back in about 2 weeks, if repairs go smoothly. So glad I don’t have to go car shopping again so soon. That would’ve really stunk for me on a variety of levels. lol I concur with the short week being a good thing. Work was unexpectedly very busy and I was more than ready for a weekend. In the final planning stages for first NASCAR trip of my “season” - I head to LV with one of my best friends at the end of Feb for the race weekend (3/1-3/3). All we have left to book is our rental car. Win. [emoji106]

Happy New Year, GottaDeal fam! I hosted my church’s NYE party last night & got home about 2:30. Back up around 9 this morning, ran a couple errands, had lunch, took a nap. Quiet day. Cats are enjoying having me home. lol

Cheap Christmas candy hunting for my church’s NYE party (that I’m running) - Meijer was only 30% off yesterday. They can do better than that... Punks. lol [emoji38]

Thanks. Body shop got my blue baby this morning. (First day they’ve been open since it happened.) The guys are cautiously optimistic about being able to repair it based on what they could see, but they’re going to call me tomorrow once they get it apart.

No no NO! I do NOT want them totaling it. I get where you’re coming from but I drive my cars into the ground so resale value is not important to me (I typically either pass along to friends or donate my cars when I’m done with them). Not having to shop for another car right now would be far nicer for me. As for possible pillar damage, the hood got shoved back and under the pillar trim a bit on the driver’s side. I’m guessing that’s what you might have been looking at. I’ll know more, though, once the body shop gets a look at it. For what it’s worth, my brother (state trooper) says most likely fixable since airbags did not deploy. I’m hoping he’s right. Merry Christmas to all!

Today, it’s whatever I have in my fridge. Dad & I will have our Christmas Thursday.

I swear I am a deer magnet... [emoji37] This is third car in a row I’ve owned that’s been hit by one of the blasted creatures in the first 6 months of me owning it... I’m fine, deer’s not, car is TBD. Should be repairable if no hidden frame damage under the body damage. Happened last night when I was less than 5 miles from home. Grrrrrr...

You're fired... LOL I love it but I get that not everyone does. Meanwhile, I may get the boot myself for saying I can't stand A Christmas Story. That movie just drives me nuts for some reason. lol
