Aries, barely. Not that I really pay attention to that stuff much, generally speaking. lol Happy early birthday! Taking some essentials to a friend with limited access to them this afternoon. His transportation is... less than reliable... over any distance past about 15-20 miles and he pretty much lives in the middle of nowhere by himself, so... Since we both live solo (thus minimizing virus exposure risk), I help him out by bringing him a few things every couple weeks since I live in the middle of everything, by comparison, so I can find stuff a bit more easily.

Celebrated another trip around the sun alone on Tuesday. Oof. Not how I was hoping to spend my birthday this year but such is life. Ordered takeout from my favorite local BBQ place for dinner that night, tried not to dwell on the “alone” part as much. Still healthy, though, so I am thankful for that.

I agree this year will most likely look very different. But... The main issue for me in terms of online shopping is that I have no secure way to receive packages at my apartment. My complex consists of buildings with 6 apartments each, all with inside entrances. Outside entry door to each building is locked. Delivery drivers literally leave packages on the front (exterior) porch of the building. It’s a porch pirate’s dream if someone’s not home to receive the package. Oof. Bottom line... If I can’t order online & subsequently pickup in store (and/or just go buy in the store directly), I’m not buying whatever it is, no matter how good the deal.

Yes. Kanyon’s right, as I understand it. They will crack down on any large outdoor gatherings and any businesses found to be in violation of the order. Some kitty pictures to (hopefully) bring a smile to your face today, my friends. [emoji4]

Working from home but it is definitely NOT ideal for me. Living by myself, the almost nonexistent human contact is wearing on me pretty badly now that I’m halfway through my third week of this. Hoping to see light at the end of the tunnel soon. As an April baby, that would be the best gift I can think of right now... Praying all are staying healthy and safe. [emoji120]

Just when we had a nice round number (50). Boo. lol

Hello March. Starting the month sick as a dog thanks to my trip to Vegas. Worth it, though. Love my track family. Fun is increased when they WIN! [emoji16][emoji106][emoji469]

NASCAR'S BACK!!! I'm a HAPPY girl! Get to see my track family in Las Vegas in less than 2 weeks! Can. Not. WAIT!!!

Here for February. January did indeed feel like it lasted forever. First true day off in quite a while today and I woke up with a headache and just feeling like crud in general. Fail.

My prayers go out for the families of the nine killed in the helicopter crash that, among the nine, claimed the life of Kobe Bryant and his daughter yesterday. I cannot even imagine the pain.

We don't have Monday off at the "day job" and I'm working the side gig both days this weekend, so...? *shrug* Happy long weekend to all those that are getting one, though! Enjoy some for me, will ya?

Miss Mew is still very much enjoying the gift of the perfect sized box from our GD Secret Santa gift collection. Thought I’d share. [emoji4][emoji106]

Ha. Yes. We were in chairs for the photo but stood shortly after to pray in the new year. Smart aleck.

Happy new year, all! Here’s a pic from last night of the last four standing at my church party that I throw every year. [emoji4] We had a good time. About a dozen of us at the height of the festivities.

Enjoyed Christmas dinner with my dad and his “lady friend”. I insisted Dad & I get a picture together before we called it a night. Good times.

I’d like that, my friend. Would be fun to meet a fellow GD’er in person! [emoji4][emoji106]

I opened my SS box just now to lift my spirits. Because, real talk, waking up alone on Christmas year after year with no special someone to share it with, no matter how much I know I am loved by family and friends, is one of the loneliest feelings for me and I struggle some years more than others. That said, thank you so much, SS. I (and my kitties) love everything we found in the box. Cheerful wrapping paper greeted me when I cut the box open. Inside that cheerful wrapping, I found wonderful gifts for my kitties and I. Peppermint B&BW treats for me in various forms, a cat dancer and a big box of my kitties’ very favorite flavor of Temptations treats. The kitties also told me to thank you for giving them a new box to play and nap in. Mew (tortie girl) and Hodges (gray and white boy) both immediately tested it for fit. [emoji4] I’ll be headed out in a short while after I bake up a little something to take with me to meet up with my dad at his (as he calls her) “lady friend’s” place for a late Christmas lunch/early dinner around 3. (Dad and I are responsible for dessert.) No idea how I’ll be spending the rest of the day. Thinking maybe a movie at the theater to occupy my time.

Baking is done, all packages full of my home baked Christmas treats and gifts faithfully delivered by my FedEx elves to their destinations without issue again this year (I've been fortunate, I guess). Just have to finish up shopping for Dad (I know what I'm getting for him - just need to pick up), mail out one thing I missed as I was packing up one of the boxes (thankfully just a GC that will fit in a normal card/envelope) and I'm ready for Christmas.
-
Oh goodness! Hope it isn't lost. Had a package I shipped via FedEx go into temporary limbo over the weekend but, thankfully, it had just missed a scan. It was enough to give me a minor heart attack for about 24 hours, though, so I understand how much this must be bugging you (and the sender), Bopeep. Fingers crossed the last package is freed from whatever limbo it's in before Christmas!

I rarely have issues with FedEx when shipping things for work or personally. (Using the corporate acct to save some $$$ - and yes, totally legit to do it that way. Company just asks that we pay for anything we ship on the account for personal reasons. Small price to pay.) That said, the most special of the shipments I made this year is currently in limbo and I'm a wreck praying they haven't lost it and it's just the holiday volume causing the delay... It hasn't moved (according to the website) from the next-to-last stop shipments to this family usually make since 2-something this morning and it was originally scheduled for delivery today. Oof. I've already let the family know there's been a delay and gave them the tracking number so they can check up on it themselves if they want to while we wait, fingers crossed, for it to get moving again.

I have NO CLUE which of my friends/family might have ordered this for me but I’m beside myself... It wasn’t in my budget this year but it was something I very much wanted (as a proud member of Rowdy Nation). So. Cool. [emoji172][emoji172][emoji172]

These sound amazing! Thanks for re-sharing them so we can all swipe and enjoy. [emoji4][emoji106]

I honestly try to treat it as I would any gift to a friend and try to go over and above when I can. Doesn’t matter to me whether I happen to have seen (or otherwise know) that it might be the only gift someone might be getting. Honestly, the SS is often the only actual “gift” I open on Christmas Day but it’s only because dad and I long ago switched to just swapping GC’s to places we love so we have excuses to shop there. lol Edited to add: Good thought, though. I’ll be curious to see what other’s thoughts are. [emoji4][emoji106]

Got a box on my doorstep Thursday night that I can only assume must be my SS box (since I wasn’t expecting any other packages), so thanks, SS! Will wait till Christmas to open. [emoji4]
