I know my 15 yr old son- is all "skater" style clothing, skateboard and accessories, and video games. He did also ask for a camcorder. But everything falls into these categories. So, I figure I can make shopping easy- Zumiez, Pac Sun, and Gamestop and he'd be a happy camper.

Personally, I think if the older one know's- it's time for a heart to heart. Get him alone and tell him how important it is that you know.

My baby is now a teenager-so I don't have to worry about that. When he was younger, I didn't put presents under the tree. Now, that he's older- I only put those out going to oher people outside of our household (like aunt's. grandparent's, ect). Those for him, my husband, and my husband's to me- all get hid in various places.

Walmart tends to have a lot of "sale items" for the everyday low price. Seems 95% of their sales are not truly sales.

There was an ad on our radio today- they state the whole store will be 40% off. I'm waiting for a state refund check-- please let it get here before Sunday!!!

I went the Gamestop yesterday they still had a lot- so I'm not too worried. Though our local Walmart didn't have any.

Okay- my son always had PS's so we have no former Xbox games- so I wasn't worried about it playing older games. Really he just wants it to be able to play games he buy's. He won't get into downloading them or anything like that. Considering he'll want something new in a year or so- I'm thinking the arcade style might be my best option?????

I know others mentioned Gamestop- but they have them for $79.00 used w/ an extra $20.00 off through 12/2. SO that's only $59.00.

I'm wondering what the general consensus is.....think this item will be hard to find the closer it get's to Christmas??? My son just announced he'd like this. I can swing it w/ our next- next paycheck. But it's not until around the 10th of December. So, is this going to be hard to come by???? I was looking at that arcade version they have.

I'd be ticked- w/ them holding up that much money.

We were @ JC Penney's at 3:30 am (not for the deals- but because they were first to open here and we didn't need electronics). Only got the free snow globe here- but it was fun watching people fight on the floor over some GPS unit and the pillow's. Made it to Walmart by 4:20 am. We took my 24 yr old cousin w/ us for his 1st ever black friday- he was a line cutter heckler. He did make the line waiting in 20 degree temps go fast. Anyhow at Walmart- 8 DVD's-- 6 were there $2.96 one's- 2 I price matched from Best Buy for $4.99 (?) Got the PS2 Madden 2008 for $14.9? (I price matched Circuit City even though this was one of Walmarts sale items for $19.98) PS2 Nascar 2008 $19.98 Bratz Head $10.00 Lexmark Printer $25.00 Toaster $3.?? My sister got a bunch of board games and some transformer thing for her kid's. My cousin got DVD's and the portable DVD player Old Navy- we got here by 6am-- we didn't stick around- my sister and cousin just wanted to be sure the MP3's were gone. We then went to the Mall-- I did well @ Pac Sun w/ their 20% sale. Also shopped Sear's and Game Stop there. My sister did pretty much only the Disney Store as the line was nearly 90 minutes long there. Target- didn't get here until close to 11am- I got all I wanted except the FP Sing Star Station. I did get a raincheck for that- but pricematched it at Walmart later that night. Also bought the Fur Real Baby (???) and the Panasonic $69.00 digital recorder, and the $38.00 air hockey table. Also got the $38 wireless Guitar Hero for PS2 guitar. Fashion Bug-- it was my birthday and I treated myself to some new items. The whole store was an extra 20% off. I was home at about 1pm- slept until 4pm. Then my husband went out w/ me from 6pm-1am (after all the store closed at 11pm we started hitting up 24 hr Walmarts). The 2 things that suprised me-- our Walmart was dead this year. They still had the line- but it's the first year I could comfortably move through electronics w/ no problems. It definetly was a lot quieter there this year. Though the sale item's were blah- so I think that accounted for it. Hope they learn. The other thing I couldn't believe. Pac Sun- who never has a sale anyhow-- had 1 cashier on duty in the morning (8-9am ish). There was an associate on the floor too- and it was his first shift. That was it. So, while this store wouldn't get a huge rush- I waited in line here the longest (nearly 45 minutes). I'd like to know what that store manager was thinking.

They did it at my store this year too. I have to say this is the only year we DIDN'T shop there. The line wrapped the entire way around the store. People at the mall later that day said they spent 2+hrs in line. We seen the line and left. Target was always the fastest line we got through--- so I think, personally, this was waaaaayyyyyy worse. People were livid- and I honestly think around here it will affect them for next year to a certain point.

Our Kohl's is right next to Target (they're connected).....BUT I'm too afraid of the line being 1.5-2 hrs long at Kohl's that it still will not be at the top of my list. I'd miss all the 5am openings. It's supposed to be downright cold, windy, and snowy here Friday--so no long term line standing- plus nothing we need that bad. But I'd like to be at one of the major stores 15 minutes before opening. Nothing like that rush!!!! :)

I'm preordering the one from Gamestop for PS2- coming out 12/18. My son didn't ask for it but I think he'll like it. If it's in on time- great it's for Christmas. If it's late his birthday is at the end of January.

Our Walmart price matches pretty good. But not on B1G1 or on percentages off sales. Now, I had a problem the last 2 yrs w/ Sears. They state no price matching on doorbusters. Even during the correct hours.

Okay- I swore I was going right home today. I got so much to do for the holiday. BUT...I'm gonna have to make a stop to see if we got the same deals.

Location for sure. I know about 9 minutes before opening our's appears to have about 75-100 people in line (I drive by every BF on my way to Walmart- though this year I might be going here first). I know I usually get to our TRU 3rd on my list (about 1.5 hrs after opening) and the lines are usually a solid 45-60 minute wait for checkout. The biggest reason I won't go here first usually.

I'm hoping for the Guitar Hero 3 set for PS2. Glad to see nobody else mentioned that one yet. Also, I kind of want to get my neice that princess throne w/ free dress.

This is the first time in forever, that Walmart is not a must-go-to-first stop for me. Ironically, the sale's all around are terrible everywhere this year. I spent all day Saturday shopping- (14 hrs) and got 4 gifts. I then went to our local mall's- Holiday Head Start shopping event last night- and got 2 things. I was banking on BF and Walmart-- NOPE-- not impressed!!!! It's usually my biggest place I spend at each year. First it looks like the same old same old- year after year-- and the few doorbuster "unique" items are nothing to write home about!

I seen it's coming out for PS2 December 18th. I really don't want to invest in a PS3 this year or Xbox- so I'm thinking of checking Gamestop tomorrow to see if I can pre-order the PS2 one.

Our's is opening at midnight- but I heard last year traffic was backed up 2 hrs to get into the place. Not worth it.

Anyone know if either of these store's will run a sale. My son wants mostly clothes (I am in shock here truly) and these are the stores of choice. So, just wondering if I can expect anything good from either?

I was gonna say don't they have this sale every year. I usually pick up a good handful of games there during that sale.

I too have received them- and it was on the DVD's. Last 2 yrs in a row. In my case, both times, it had the raincheck dispenser set up right there. So, I'm thinking maybe they never even got the item.

I'm fortunate that my husband's family treats my son (their "step-child") as equal as all the other children. I would be heartbroken for him to sit their and watch something otherwise.
