AHHHH does len know something I don't? Now I'm freaking out........ Nah just as you said it's a weird year all around. I do think BF won't be the same moving forward if the retailers find the way they are doing things works moving forward. I do guarantee though that the minute people can be back in Walmart assaulting each other over $3 towels and $5 toasters they will be.

People suck. Wish I could catch them and beat some morals into them.
-
Ya I might do this also.

I wish they would pass laws banning the political ad's that do nothing but slam the other person. Why don't you try telling me what YOU stand for not why the other person is the devil. OK enough pol babble from me.

As you can probably get from my first post I am big into Christmas decorating and the season as a whole. We want to try and get property for our next house and my wife and i have talked that once that happens I want to do a large walk through display. I'm the person that HOA's hate, when we built our last house that's one of the things we made sure of was no HOA so no one (besides local laws) could tell us what we could or couldn't do with our house and property.

We are actually planning to try and get one or two of the 55" sets on the second day sale. We figure it's a good enough price to replace the TV in our daughters room and the one we put in the guest bedroom. The 70" seems like a good enough price to where it's worth the gamble. We currently have a 70" Vizio FHD set but it's not with us right now and we had considered just gifting it to my in-laws who we are letting use it while we are looking for a new house and get settled in. I'm never against getting a new TV. I was really hoping to see a good deal on a 4K 75" or 80" to replace it though. Last year we bought the 55" Hisense Roku TV and have been very pleased with it. Wish some others would release their sales info so that I can make some informed decisions. On the bright side if I snag the 70" tonight it's just going to sit in the box for a while so if something else comes up better we can always return this one.

"Walmart's new electronics house brand sets are inexpensive, but they don't rival sets from the top brands for performance" That statement right there makes me not want to read any further. That's a huge DUH. Heck the top brands cheaper devices don't rival their top of the line.

I think it's a weird year. I'm hoping as the days get closer and it's post all hallows eve it will start to feel more normal.

I've been ramping ours up over the last 3 years or so. I have a couple of hand built lighting controllers I've made to control my light shows. One of them is for standard plugin LED light strands and the other is for my newer light that are PIXEL lights. The pixel lights I can control each individual light in the strand which gives me a lot more control over the types of effects I can pull off with the lights. This is my newest build so it's not as powerful as my other strand controller I built. Sadly this year we aren't in our own house but I still may take time and build the new controller out to the point where I have the old style one and then maybe next year (old controller is in storage) I will give that one to my friend so he can have a cool show. My old style controller is easier to setup a show, you just add the music into a specific folder on the controller, setup your hours you want it to run from a web interface (it has wireless built in) and then when the time of day starts it will start the show and rotate through the songs using a built in lighting sequencer. The newer one I've only used for a small Halloween show last year, I have to actually go into sequencing software and build out the shows, I do it to music (both have FM transmitters in them), this takes a lot more time but I have far more control over what the lights do and when. I hope to one day rival the Griswalds.

I'm all for a 70' TV. Nowhere I can put it but what the heck I can charge admission to watch movies and sell concessions for people to eat.
-
That's actually cool. My daughter saw those giant nut crackers in the store last weekend and wants them.
-
We tend to buy sheets every year.
-
If you spend enough there it is definitely worth it.

Man your boss sounds like a jerk.

Y'all can send all the cookies to me. I'm not hesitant.

I hadn’t seen that. I’ll have to keep a lookout.

I was wondering especially with this year how will your job work when it comes to BF? Do you take the day off? Do you say well may as well work this year since BF is likely to be online for the majority of it anyway? I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do. Where I work is closed but I still may get some work done since the majority of what we want is likely to be available the days/weeks leading up to then online.

Photo 1: This picture is doctored FAKE NEWS. We know they don't have that many employees working at Walmart helping people. Photo 2: Ahh the good ole days, back when we were actually allowed to camp out for BF. 2020 WHY MUST YOU FORSAKE US!!! Photo 3: Wow are these people going to be mad when they realize TRU went out of business.

We have their more expensive membership that has the rewards each year. It pays for itself each year in the cash we get back so it will just stay how it is. I guess they figure that's how they get people.

A lot of them have already been sold during the pre-orders.
