  1. Cranberry Jalapeno Cream Cheese Dip Ingredients 12 ounces (340 g) fresh cranberries 4-5 green onions, chopped ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely diced 1 cup (212 g) sugar, more or less to taste ½ teaspoon ground cumin 2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice ¼ teaspoon salt 2 (8-ounces each) packages (454 g) cream cheese, light or regular, softened Crackers, for serving Instructions Pulse the cranberries in a food processor or blender until coarsely chopped. Add the green onions, cilantro, jalapeno, sugar, cumin, lemon juice and salt and pulse until the ingredients are well combined and finely chopped. Transfer the mixture to a covered container and refrigerate for 4 hours (or up to overnight) so the flavors have time to meld and develop. When ready to serve, spread the cream cheese in an even layer on a serving plate or 9-inch pie dish. Top with the cranberry-jalapeno mixture. Refrigerate for up to an hour before serving. Serve with crackers.
  2. This ad looks better than their BF ads usually do. Guess I will make a Target run!
  3. Yay! Love, love Christmas movies!
  4. #1 Yea, it's 9pm, black Friday is over! #2 Cash only #3 We split up to be 1st in line at 3 toy stores and still couldn't get the #1 requested toy. Christmas is ruined!
  5. Black Friday is not the same without all the print ads. But I am so ready to decorate for Christmas
  6. I ordered a pair of gloves from Macy's on Dec. 2nd., they shipped on Dec. 4th and have been showing lost since Dec. 9th.. Macy's would not do anything about it until today, Dec. 17th, now they will see if they have them still in stock and send them out. I have to wait 48 hours to find out if they have them or not. I'm beyond frustrated. The postal service said they were lost on Dec. 9th but Macy's said to wait until the 17th. Now I may be without a gift, of course, the recipient picked these out so I can't just go get a different pair. My cc was charged on the 2nd., but still no package.

  11. The ads are a disappointment this year. I looked back at last year's and there is a big difference. Hate to see what next year will bring.

  18. Same thoughts here. Plus they usually had cat trees on special too
  19. I will be starting this week. I have a tree that I put up in our dinette that is all vintage ornaments, that will go up very, very soon! I will put up my village probably tomorrow. We get a real tree for our family Christmas tree so that won't go up until the 2nd week of December. I used to wait until after Thanksgiving but figured "life is short" and if I enjoy the decorations then I should put them up when I'm ready to enjoy them. I will admit that I am that person that is ready to take everything down on December 26th though. When it's over, it's over
  20. Went to JcPenney one year when they opened at I think 4pm on Thanksgiving. We were there for the $19.99 boots and while standing in the checkout line we were right next to the red bow boxed jewelry that I think at that time was $10 for Black Friday and picked up 3 pieces for my daughter. When we got to the car my son decided he wanted some to give to his gf for Christmas so went back to stand in line for 3 more! Then headed to the inlaws for Thanksgiving and was telling my SIL's about the good deal on those boxes so they went the next day and were told you could only get 1 box for $10, additional were the regular price. Not sure how I lucked out and why the system put them through that way on Thanksgiving but not Black Friday but felt very lucky indeed!
  21. Meijer has great deals on pet supplies on Black Friday. The cat condo deals are always the 1st to be gone
  22. I made this pie on a lark for work after telling my co-workers about it. It is a depression era pie and delicious. I have to admit that I was very skeptical about it but was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. The best part is that it's the easiest pie I have ever made! I made it for Christmas one year just for the laughs, but everyone enjoyed it so I have continued making it. Enjoy! WATER PIE 1 deep dish 9 inch pie crust uncooked 1 1/2 cups tap water 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup white granulated sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 5 tablespoons butter sliced INSTRUCTIONS Pour water into uncooked pie shell. Whisk together flour, sugar and salt. Sprinkle over water in pie crust. DO NOT STIR. Drizzle on vanilla extract and add butter pats on top of pie. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees and continue baking for 30 more minutes. Pie will set up as it cools and is refrigerated. It will look like it is not cooked when removed from oven but will set up once it is cold.
