Happy New Year ....
-
Almost all gifts bought. Just need 1 more for my mom, a couple more stocking stuffers and treats for our dog.
-
Went to Walmart around 8 am and it was pretty dead and they still had a lot of their BF items left. Got my mom and grandson PJs and some lounge pants for my mom. Went to Target around 10 and again it was pretty dead. Picked up my order of games and toys that I ordered on Thanksgiving for my kids and grandson and got some candy for stocking stuffers. Did more online shopping this year than in the past. DH and I went to a local outlet center Friday afternoon and that place was PACKED. Snagged a coat for our grandson, got some shirts for me. I am thankful I took advantage of the some great deals during the summer and fall as those deals were better than what was offered on BF.

I am so glad I took advantage of sales over the summer and fall as they were a better deal than what was available on BF. So disappointed in the ads and sales this year. I

Underwhelmed is right. I think this year will be the least amount I will spend there on BF.
-
Thanks, guess I missed that

Only saw a few things but I did not see any DVDs unless I completely missed them.

Thanks Brad

Congrats to the winners

Only 2 sales this year instead of 3. The only thing of interest to me in the 1st sale is the one of the fire pits. I hope the 2nd sale is better.

You're welcome. Couple other ideas: invite some local friends over for a night of appetizers and games or have a gingerbread building contest. They sell kits with large and small gingerbread houses. Invite some ladies over for a day of making cookies together or do a cookie swap. Most of the time my DH and I already know what we buy each other for Christmas but I do challenge my DH each year to get me surprise gift, something that I would never suspect.

So instead of buying gifts why not do twist on the 12 days of Christmas. Each day you do a different Christmas related activity together. Drive around looking at lights. Do a movie marathon day/night of all your favorite classics. Make your favorite Holidays Meals/desserts/appetizers, etc. Buy matching Christmas PJs. Some farms, winery's and amusement parks get decked out for Christmas, visit one. Search of all Christmas events in and around your area. If you have Christmas dishes use them all month.

I make this every year for my kids. Mint Chocolate Chip Pie FOR THE CRUST 24 oreos 1/4 c. melted butter Or Buy a premade Oero or chocolate pie crust FOR THE FILLING 1 1/4 c. heavy cream 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1 1/4 c. powdered sugar green gel food coloring 3/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract 3/4 tsp. peppermint extract 1 c. mini chocolate chips, plus more for garnish 1 c. Andes mints, roughly chopped, plus more for garnish Make Crust: In a food processor, pulse Oreos until they form coarse crumbs. Add butter and blend until completely combined. Press crumb mixture into bottom and evenly up sides of a 9" pie dish. (Try to make crust about 1/8"-thick evenly all around.) Refrigerate at least 1 hour before adding filling. Make Filling: Using a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Transfer to a bowl. To bowl of stand mixer, add cream cheese and beat on medium-high speed, 2 minutes. Add powdered sugar and food coloring and mix on low until smooth. Add vanilla and peppermint extracts and mix until combined. With a rubber spatula, fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture, then fold in mini chocolate chips and chopped Andes mints. Pour filling into prepared crust and smooth top. Sprinkle with more mini chocolate chips and chopped Andes and drizzle with chocolate. Refrigerate until firm, 5 to 6 hours.

I have been checking daily ... a few times a day hoping for an ad. You are right this is crazy ... a month to go and nothing yet.
-
Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Aeropostle, Carters, Kohls - all depends on the sales and the want we are looking for.
-
#1 - I can't pass up this deal. I will find someone to give it to. #2 - Let me know if you see them, I am just to rest here for a minute.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz #3 - What do you mean shopping in the comforts of your PJs was for online shopping only
-
Other options Legos, snack type gifts, throw blanket, onsie type PJ with hoodie (character type) which are very popular with the teens in our area. Bath/Deodorant sets like Axe. Hoodies are popular with kids/teen. Are there any characters he likes? DVDS of favorite movies and/or tv series. Trying to think back to when my son was 12 LOL. Something we have been doing for our kids the past few years is each year we buy a few Christmas Movies (home alone collection, Santa Claus collection, Rudolph, etc) to help them create their own collection of favorites so when the time comes for them to moved out on their own they will have a great collection.
-
Will be spending about the same. We also have Christmas Club that we put money into each month plus we already bought several gifts.
-
What about remoted control cars or monster trucks, bike, small drones?
-
Waiting for that 1st ad to drop

My DD wants a kindle reader and DH wants beats earbuds. Always on the lookout for deals on transformers LOL

I was really surprised and excited to get this in the mail over the weekend. My kids are too big for the "toy" book and my grandson is still a bit to young but hopefully next year he will be old enough to get excited to go through a toy book and mark off what he wants.

Our Walmart started placing out Christmas Decorations in the Lawn and Garden Area this past weekend.
