  1. Me TOO!!!! Among a few other places. I am sure I will run into you at one store or another!
  2. Thankfully neither of my kids want anything on that list
  3. We set a budget per kid and spend according to their wish list and budget. Some years they get a lot of smaller gifts and others they get one big gift and a several smaller ones. We also reserve some of the items on their wish list for the grandparents to get since every year some or all of the gransparents will ask what they want/need.
  4. Well if they dont have anything I need to get at a decent price then it will be one less store I have to stop at. I dont shop much at Target through out the year anyhow so if I didnt shop there during Christmas it wouldnt be a big issue to me. Will have to wait until the ads come out before I will decide if I will shop there or not.
  5. I am not crazy with the stores opening on Thanksgiving night but I can deal with the midnight openings. I may be in the minority here but I do prefer the 4 am openings better.
  6. Getting the kids each a new nintendo DS. DD has one but its older and the case is cracked, DS is now old enough to handle one. Those will be their main gifts. DH wants a flat screen TV for the living room so that is on the list. We will wait until after their birthdays to have them work on their Christmas Wish list.
  7. None are near me....
  8. I have seen a few small things that I want so far but nothing that will make me stand in line. This year may be the smallest and short BF shopping I have done in the past 15 years with the exception of the one year when I had to work on black friday.
  9. We already bought a lot of gifts already... our kids are still on the younger side and we found some great deals items that they wanted so we went a head and bought them. Will be heading out on BF for other items still on the list to buy.
  10. We are looking to get either an iPod shuffle or an mp3 player for our 10 yr old. Not sure which would be better. Kind of leaning towards the shuffle but worried she might lose it because of how small it is. Would like to hear from those who have gotten one or the other for their tween.
  11. I think if they keep pushing the start of sales earlier and earlier in may back fire on the stores. We always host Thanksgiving dinner and have a house full day. We enjoy the time with family and friends. If it comes down to spending time with family that we do not see that often or out shopping then family will win. I am sure I am not alone in this. Will I miss out on some deals ... Yup but thats OK.. either another deal will come along or I will change my gift buying list. Yes there will be some people who will/do love the earlier times and thats great if they do but I think they may be in the minority. I guess only time will tell.
  12. Love being able to score deals on gifts ... stretching that money to go a little further and getting the kids what they want for Christmas.
  13. HATE ... HATE ... HATE the fact that the stores are opening at midnight. I enjoy Thanksgiving and spending time with family and friends. I want to be able to do that and still get a few hours of sleep before going shopping . Not sure what time I will head out this year or where I will head to first untiul I see the rest of BF ads. I love shopping on BF but enjoy it better when the stores open around 4 am to 6 am. If these stores start opening on TG day/night I may have to do my shopping on line and skip going out. Only time will tell.
  14. Something we gave to the teacher a few years ago where the metal kitchen whisks filled with the red and green wrapped hershey kisses. Wrapped up the bottoem with clear food pastic wrap and attached a home gift tag that said We Whisk you a Merry Kissmas! Found that idea one another site.. It was gift that went over well. It was very inexpensive and our daughter had fun helping to assemble them.
  15. Last year after christmas we found these cute red, green and white dip bowls with matching plates marked down. Both kids are in elementary school so their main teachers are getting them along with some dip mixes. I used to sell Tastefully Simple but stopped a couple months ago. My last order I put in were a ton of the single serve dip mixes in vaious flavors. The rest of the kids teachers will get cards with a few packets of the dip mixes in them.
  16. I have a ton of ornaments so I will place ornaments on the inside branch as well as the outer branches, avoiding the very tips.

  20. That would make sense ... in years past the sale has started at the end of Oct.
  21. Grabs some solid colored totes from the store and lable them mom's summer clothes. Put the gifts in the bottom of the totes and some of your summer clothes on top. Do you have a friend or neighbor that you could hide the gifts at? Some of the smaller things could be hidden in the back of your dresser drawers. Just make sure you keep a list of where you hid the items at.
  22. Lets hope so ......
  23. Disney DVDs.... I agree books are always good.... Christmas ornaments to start his own collection that can be passed onto him when he gets older.
