  1. Wow! A contest entry along with lots of great recipes:

Our favorite Christmas cookies are M&M meringue cookes.

    2 egg whites

    1/2 cup granulated sugar

    pinch of cream of tarter

    3/4 cup holiday m&m's

With room temp. egg whites beat and cream of tarter until foamy

SLOWLY add sugar beating until stiff peaks form

    GENTLY Fold in M&M's

    Drop onto greased cookie sheet

Bake at 250 for 25-30 minutes.

    Yield 1-2 dozen

Can't wait to start chrismas baking!!!

  2. I believe that this comment is insulting to a lot of people besides me, You have no idea what a persons reason's are to use layaway. I manage what little money I have just fine thank you, But I also with the help of Layaway saved a tremendous amount of maney every year, along with time and problems finding those hard to find toys my 4 children would want. I know with Layaway from Oct through Dec I paid walmart 1000.00 for what was on layaway.

You are very condisending and insulting

I agree with you Illinoismom, I believe we had this same debate last year or the year before. Please don't let it get to you, its very easy to judge when you have no clue about other or their reasons for layaway. For me, it saved me time. I put everyones presents on layaway at 1 time, didn't have to run from store to store, everything was nice and convenient in one place. Oh well, things change, nothing I say will or will not bring it back.

  3. I posted about this last year I was so proud. Last year at walmart, my best friend and I scoped out the door busters we want, perched ourselves at the roped off area and when they let us shop we grabbed the 5 things we wanted between us and headed to the check-out. The time on our receipt said 5:03am woohoo!
  4. Hi All! My name is Heather, I am from Pennsylvania. I have a DS 3, DD 5 and a DSD 10. I have been married to my husband for 7 years and I LOVE TO SHOP!

BF is my olympics but I visit GD throughout the year to get the good online deals and to see what other good deals have been found.

    Hope to chat more soon!

  5. I agree with Brad, Sept is early enough for me. Brad, I say enjoy your summer and worry about us BFers after Labor Day. We'll be here, waiting anxiously!

Although, I must admit, my stomach did a flip when I happened to see the BF notice when I logged onto GD this morning ;-)

  6. My opinion may differ here however, Christmas gifts are not ones I would see as a reward. If you normally go all out for Christmas, go all out. BUT...receiving Christmas gifts is one thing, keeping them is another. Once he receives those gifts they are his, if he earns the right to keep them. I would enclose a nice note with his Christmas gifts, telling him that he is loved and that is why he is receiving whatever the gifts are you chose to give him. But if his bad behavior continues they will one by one be taken away. If his behavior is not changed to earn them back, the next step would be to sell them on ebay.

That is my opinion. In summary, treat this Christmas as normal, with the very clear possibility that those things can be gone in a minute.

  7. My best friend and I got to walmart about 330am, took our position by the rope (superwalmart, wait inside :D) Between the 2 of us we needed a bratz fashion doll (hers, i don't buy those ugly things) 2 littlest pet shops and a dvd player.

Anyway, we were directly in the middle of those items. When the rope dropped, she ran to the bratz, I grabbed an LPS for each of us and then the dvd player. We went straight to the checkout. The time on our reciept said 5:03am so we grabbed our good and paid in 3 MINUTES!!!! It was great. Our walmart is always the most organized and easiest store to manuever on BF...Other days, not so sure!
