  1. Well today is chocolate dipping day for the first batch of buckeyes. I always have the hardest time with melting chocolate. So wish me luck!
  2. Our delivery people have stopped knocking too. A couple Sundays ago, the main delivery guy arrived at 10:35 pm!! I happened to see him worked out front as I was heading to bed, so I went out and met him at the door. I wondered if he would have knocked that late at night, or if would have left my packages out all night! We've had a lot of issues with UPS last week. I has multiple shipments delayed and rescheduled, or just not delivered. Several times, something would be on the truck for delivery, and not arrive. I understand they are busy and may not be able to make it anywhere. but twice they delivered one package, when two were supposedly "out for delivery". And once, the same guy came back 2 hours later with a second box. So stuff like that is pretty aggravating.
  3. I got everything finished tonight, except my grandson's. All his toys are crazy shaped, and I haven't felt like tackling that yet. This is seriously the most caught up I've ever been. I really like having everything all out and in one room. And the table is nice too. I have 4 or 5 things that I am still waiting to arrive, and about 5 things left to buy, mostly gift cards. So I should be done by the end of this week. And that's pretty impressive for me!
  4. I wrapped about 25 presents today. Got everything wrapped for my husband and both boys that are still home. Got about half of my daughter's done before I gave out. The first 3 presents got ribbons... The rest did not!! I bought new wrapping paper and bags last year that I forgot about, so I have a new paper color scheme. Having all the wrapping paper in one room and having a table in there has worked out well, I'm really loving that.

    Goodies

I always make buckeyes. I bought all the stuff today, I might start tomorrow. We are going to a friends house Friday, and he always wants them. I'll make another batch next weekend for family Christmas. I never really thought about that you could make cordial cherries. I'm not sure anyone would eat them here though. Sometimes I make potato candy because it's fun and I love making it, but no one eats it. Mama started experimenting with fudge this year, so I probably won't make any of that. So looks like I'm just at buckeyes and cookies! But we'll be on vacation and returning Christmas Eve, so I won't have as much time as usual anyway. Let us know how the cherries turn out!
  6. They are not heavy or very thick, but I think they are a great weight. My mom has some big heavy plates, and I way prefer these.
  7. I love the Corelle dishes. I got a set when I got married at 22, and then the plain white set like these at some point later... They've made it through 3 kids, and I still use them all as my every day dishes. And I've been married almost 23 years. So I think they'd be perfect, especially if you get the plain white.
  8. I love my necklace and bracelet sets. This will be my third year doing it, and this year I got me a new one.
  9. Happy December, and Happy Friday! Today is the day to start your Advent calendar! Mine is a necklace and bracelet set, where I open a new charm every day. Yesterday I got my wrapping station set up, so today I will start wrapping. I have probably less than 10 presents left to buy, hooray! And only 3 people not started at all (out of 20). Best I've ever done I think!
  10. Well, yesterday was house decorating day, so hopefully tonight I can start on wrapping. I am almost motivated!
  11. I use it a lot too, especially since target is where I do my grocery shopping, so I'm there often. A couple years ago there was an online only deal on an Xbox. I didn't really realize it was online only, so I first bought it in the store, because I had several gift cards to use, and you are limited online. When we realized it was different , they helped me combine my gift cards into one (but they wouldn't honor the online price), and I ordered it, did my grocery shopping, then as I was loading my groceries I got the pick up notification. And last year, mama wanted 5 of something, but they only had 2 out. Website showed there was enough stock though. So she ordered it, and in less than 10 minutes it was ready.
  12. A couple weeks ago I bought a new folding table for my craft room, but hadn't put it up yet. So this weekend while I was shopping, my husband and son set me up a "wrapping station" in the extra bedroom. I always keep the paper and bags and tissue downstairs in that room anyway. So now I have a place to wrap, and I don't have to keep running up and down the stairs. And I don't have to sit on the floor and hurt my back. Yay, I'm so excited. I'm (almost) excited to start wrapping now.
  13. My tree is up... Although I'm not loving it for some reason. Haven't had time to do much else. But mama is taking home the grandson today, so I won't have to spend every day at her house anymore. So hopefully I'll get some more done in the next couple nights! We will be on vacation the week before Christmas, so I am already losing a week.
  14. Yep! You get to keep the Kohl's cash. How nice is that?! Also, if you had used a department coupon (like $10/50 home), and the cancelled item was a qualifier, the discount still holds too.
  15. Well I've done a fair amount with Amazon. They were the only one that put one of my son's wanted games on sale. And the turntable that my other son wants, that I couldn't even find anywhere else besides eBay. And I have a book to buy. Tried to buy at Books a Million, but they didn't have it. I still have a few Warhammer things to order. I bought everything the local game store had (paid about $15 more on a $200 purchase, but I wanted to support this store), so there's only about 3 more things left. The Dot I ordered late Thursday from Kohl's was cancelled (still got the KC though!) and target was out, so Amazon came through for that, plus got a smart plug for only $5. Also got the IconX earbuds for $50 off. Best Buy also had them, but sold out before I made up my mind (which to be fair was late Friday). I got a Fire HD8, but that was because I was impatient and didn't want to wait for another sale to start. Which is funny because I still ordered from both Best Buy and Target that night. And the Fire Stick I purchased while standing in line at Kohl's, and I didn't think about checking for it at target. Amazon is just so easy. And lastly I pre ordered Horizon Zero Dawn, because they have the low price guarantee.
  16. My entire Monday morning order has now been delivered. Yay.
  17. I was out with my mom and sister both Thursday night and Friday morning. For a total of about 8 hours. Since most of my shopping was online, I didn't have much to get. All I have to show for all that time is an eyeshadow pallete, dvd set, a few gift bags, a hairdryer, and a trunk full of cat litter and dog treats. My mailman and UPS guy will be busy the next few days though!
  18. Well, even during the year I check the site as my daily routine at least twice a day, so I'm here... Now remembering about this thread is another story!!

  21. Well mama has the grandson all weekend, so I'll be over at her house all weekend helping watch him. So that's going to seriously impede my decorating time. But my son and husband were going to start getting things ready today, so maybe I can get a little done tonight when I get home, before I collapse into bed from exhaustion.
  22. I have a gingerbread and candy theme for my house, including my tree. My wrapping paper also matches the theme.
  23. PetSmart, got cat litter and dog treats. Didn't seem to be as crowded and stressful as years past. Maybe because we were done faster than usual. Ran in Michael's in case something jumped out at me, and there was NO line. Which was amazing. There is always a line at my Michael's. Books a million was dead. Apparently they opened at midnight, and was supper dead all night as well. Stopped by CVS and grabbed a couple of the ECB deals, including the $5 hairdryer for my sister. I had not noticed it in the ad, but yesterday she said she needed one, then she pointed that one out. Now back home resting before unloading the litter and then going to mama's to help babysit the grandson.
  24. Had a 5 hour shopping trip tonight with my mom and sister. Kohl's: Pretty crowded as always, but fairly organized. Stock was low on a lot of items because people had ordered online and picked up in store. According to the manger, some items she didn't even have in stock at all when the store opened tonight. Stood in line for one hour. Bought nothing. Ulta: Stood in line for 30 minutes. Got an eyeshadow pallete for my niece, thy my sister picked out for me. Five Below: A little busy, but they were super fast. Stood in line les than 2 minutes! Bought gift bags and wrapping paper. Walmart: A lot of people, but not super crowded. A nice associate helped my mom find the last hover board thing for my nephew. A couple things my mom and sister wanted were out of stock, but we were 3 hours into the sale at this point. Stood in line about 5 minutes. Bought nothing. Target: Went here by myself. Parking lot was packed, and lots of people inside. Went straight to the check line endcap and grabbed Stranger Things, and walked right up to the register. So glad I went tonight, it was the second to last one. So for 5 hours, I have one DVD and one eyeshadow, and a few gift bags. Woohoo!! Oh! While I was standing in line, I places another Best Buy and Amazon order. So at least there was that!
  25. Amazon: Fire HD8, around midnight. Best Buy: Powered speakers, Destiny 2, Neir Automata, Wonder Woman, Logan, and Mad Max Chrome edition. Got checked out by 1:07 EST Target: Google Home Mini, k cups. Checked out at 3:08 EST All going pretty good so far! About to head out to Kohl's and Ulta, then Target in the morning for Stranger Things.
