  1. I would love to find a good sugar cookie recipe for the cookie press. My crew doesn't love the stock recipes for the cream cheese spritz or butter cookies. But they love sugar cookies. I've tried just some regular mixes and recipes, and they are either too dry or sticky for the press.
  2. Yay. Although I've already been taking advantage of sales and coupons and have gotten 10 throws and clothes for my grandson. Those are usually the bulk of what I get. But I'm sure I will still find things to buy!
  3. I'd pick the Stanley Rolling tool chest with 54 piece tool set for $75. I was excited with the $99 I paid a several years ago, and have been looking for another deal like that since.
  4. I also use my guest room to stash gifts. That's also where I wrap so that's nice. I dont have a super good system of keeping track, just random lists and notes. But for my 3 kids and 1 grandson, I use an app on my phone. I changed phone platforms last year right before Christmas, so I need to find a new app this year. The one I used kept up with number of gifts and money amount, and that is surprisingly hard to find. I also keep a notebook for the 3 kids and write things down as they are received. Used to I would mark if they were being wrapped or from Santa, but that's not so much a concern now. I also make sure the kids at home have the same number gifts to open, so having that list helps me know when I need to combine or separate gifts to keep that even. Because of this it takes me a little longer to get wrapping organized and finished for the year. I keep the A-1 size Amazon boxes under the bed for stockings, one for each person. That helps me visualize how much "stuff" there is for each stocking. Those also get written in the notebook and marked for stocking.
  5. We had one open here in July. I was so excited while watching it be built. But yeah I've never gone now that it's open. Interesting with this week's ad being so similar. A lot of the small stuffs on sale have coupons this week for the same price. I might just run up there tomorrow and grab the one thing I saw and check that off the list!
  6. I went and looked up those bags. So cute! And so easy! I may be very tempted. The only thing is, all my wrapping matches my tree theme. And, I already have so much wrapping paper... but maybe I can transition.
  7. (Has a full drawer and box of socks) Oooh! Socks! Disney Princesses and Star Wars! And the Star Wars ones are more colorful than the ones a few years ago. Purple Stormtrooper socks, yes!
  8. I finally got fall stuff out this past weekend, hooray! Although I think I am missing a box. I haven't decorated my dining room in many years, so I was happy to finally do that again. Halloween was pulled out of storage, and I'll probably do that in a couple more weeks.
  9. A couple years ago I was able to make a wrapping station in the extra room. Around Thanksgiving I'll set up a table in there, then I can wrap a little at a time. That's nice, because the worst part for me is getting everything out to start, then putting it away. I'll put all the presents in that room as I get them. I don't like to wrap too early because I like to see what I have. But once my tree is up, I love getting the gifts under it!
  10. Love it!
  11. My mom and I had been shopping together for several years when my sister decided to join us. On Thanksgiving she checked the ads and made her list. We met at 6 am and decided to go to Staples first, because that's where she wanted to go. As we were walking up I asked what she was planning on getting. "Oh, I was thinking some crayons and coloring books for the kids, and I'll look and see what else I see." Oh dear, she had no idea. We went in, she looked at the lines and people, and decided she could get crayons anytime (they weren't on sale). For the next couple years she still used BF as her casual browsing/shopping by herself (away from kids) day. Drove me crazy. Now I get almost everything done online before Thanksgiving dinner, so I just go and let her shop and browse.
  12. I agree. My school district has had Dell, Lenovo, and now HP. I would for sure pick Lenovo between those 3. (I work in our technology department.)
  13. Happy October! It's only 88 here, with an expected high of about 92, so we're cooling down compared to the last couple days!
  14. They did. I think it was about $50 off. I dont remember if I actually got it from Best Buy or Amazon, but I do remember Amazon had matched the price.
  15. Yes, the colors are really pretty! But that one won't serve the purpose my son wants it for, as it doesn't hook to a display (or so I'm told). So the big one it is.
  16. Youngest wants a 3D printer. Preferably kit form, with a 12x12 plate. It's hard to find deals on things that are so specific, but I'd love to find one around $350. I also could be needing a Switch, so $250ish would be great for that.
  17. Woohoo! Nice number to start counting down from! I already have 2 toys bought for my grandson, and one small thing for my friend, along with some yarn that will hopefully become some blankets, and of course I've started the Kohl's blanket stash. I know 2 things I'll get youngest son, and what big thing I'll get my daughter. So I'm making progress!
  18. I'm not a "fun" person, so I dont really like playing tricks too much. I've given cash in a new wallet, or a zipper pouch. See, no fun. But I do like the idea of the money inside the advent calendar. This isn't the same situation, but a few years ago I had about 15 Target promo GCs I was going to give my daughter for her baby shower, and was struggling with a cute presentation. The room we were using happened to have an undecorated Christmas tree in it (it was November and was going to be decorated after our event). So I tied up the gift cards, baby socks, and other small items and decorated the tree. You could do that with cash too
  19. I'm pretty much the same as Len. I wish I would save some each month... but I dont. I'm a little worried because we are adding a car payment in November. But, we aren't paying as much for tuition/housing this year, so hopefully that should even out. Typically I spend about $1000 on bf, with a good chunk of that at Kohl's.
  20. Oh my! We are setting records for high temps here, 2 days in a row at 99*!
  21. Yes, every item that offered 1 day shipping has arrived the next day. And you're right, there are quite a few items available now. When it first started you had to have $35 of eligible items, but that restriction seems to be lifted. I ordered something today mid-morning that is set to arrive tomorrow.
  22. Oh thanks! Yay.
  23. I just went and did a quick search on eBay and came up with several. I usually shop Home Depot because it's closer, but I'll have to keep this coupon in mind for big purchases. Thanks Brad for the heads up!
  24. Every year I have such good intentions, and say "this is the year!" Maybe this year will be it! I'll do it towards the end of September. I have fall table settings I'll leave out until Thanksgiving. My kids are all grown now too, so I dont do a lot for Halloween. I wouldnt mind, just never get motivated. Usually I'm rummaging around in the halloween box when I get home from work on halloween to find the lighted pumpkins and candy bowl!
  25. Haha, yep! A few weeks back I was able to get them for about $9 each so I jumped. And I'm so glad I did, as 3 of the designs are no longer available! One is Halloween, one is for me, one for my daughter's birthday (she gets one for birthday and Christmas), and one for my grandson because I can't give his mom one and not him. There are a couple of the fall designs I am eyeing, as I actually don't have any fall throws.
