Anyone come across deals on electric blankets? This old house is drafty and now with a fifty-percent increase in rates come Jan. 1st - I need to find an alternative to turning up the thermostat. Thanks!

DEMUSX According to the postings on the Amazon Wii Board - don't hold your breath. They keep pushing back the shipping date on the bundles. I ordered the Wii only and got it last week. But haven't heard of any of the bundles being shipped (these are actually Target bundles via the Amazon site). They pulled that garbage on the day before release bundles too. Personally I'd keep looking and be prepared for a fight in getting the order cancelled and your credit card cleared from them. Keep emailing and see if they will give you an answer but like I experienced from the 11/17 deal they send form letter after form letter and it varies on answers

Some very nice handcream (nice scent not overpowering) Think of something really nourishing for the winter months when the furnace is going full blast. An easy on/easy off sweater that is washable (they are a bit hard on stuff in the laundry room). Find a great unique color like violet, etc. Do they do hair there? A gift certificate to get her hair done a few extra times.

Keep checking with Circuit City (online). I scored another one there last Wed. They don't offer too many so you need to move quick. They sold it as a bundle but it just included one extra remote and numchuk which I wanted anyway. They gave you the option to drop them but if you expect more then one player you'll want them anyway and they are hard to find right now.

The Columbia line is wonderful for warmth. I already had one as did two of my daughters so DH was thrilled to get this one (and the price is great - I paid $100 for mine on sale two years ago). Plus just toss them in to the washing machine and they look like new again. They aren't those heavy bulky looking coats so you might be deceived into thinking it won't keep you warm - but it does.

I see that they are also utlilizing in some cases the 2 phase FedEx delivery - it has some extra name on the end of it. First part of the delivery is FedEx and then it gets dumped in the local mail mail distribution center and the USPS makes the actual house delivery. Whether its more efficient I don't know but sure can see the headaches on blaming the other one when a package comes up missing or damaged.

Don't forget to be checking in person at EB Games (usually found in Malls). Their shipments arrive by UPS so figure between 10:30 - 2:30 . The last big shipment will be coming out this week to all retailers (at least before Christmas) so if you are at the mall make a mad dash to EBGames if you see the Brown UPS truck outside lol

Deana makes sense. These game units produce a great deal of inner heat and putting it on a surface where air can't reach it is looking for trouble. Get it up on a hard surface sitting upright and see how it works.

12/17 seems to be the next big release date for TRU Target Etc. Ebgames sells them as they come in of course.

Just a heads up. When buying game cube games to use on the Wii - they won't have the interaction stuff going on like with the wii games. It will play just like it would on the gamecube. If you want the kids up and moving you need the games for Wii!

Yes they always overestimate shipping dates to avoid people calling and complaining if a shipment is a day late. If you have a tracking number that will give you a more accurate date.

HollyBerry: Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean about the extra remotes. We had them sitting on the shelves until my wii arrived and then forget it. But I imagine they'll be poppig in. I think you want an extra nunchuk too. The boxing in sports allows 2 players and that requires the nunchuk. I read somewhere toward the end of Jan. Nintento is releasing another game kind of like sports and it will come with a free remote.

According to the Nintendo website the classic controller is required for those games you buy through their website and download to your wii unit.

lol Nothing too exciting is there. But I must say I am sitting here with my Ladies George Long Plush Robe on over my sweater and jeans in this draft old house and feeling pretty cuddly. I might just pick up 2 more for my two oldest girls if they have the right sizes. Thanks for sharing the info!

I considered velcro but considering the effort in throwing your arm back and forth I'm not sure. But the string itself it uses (and I do mean string) is extremely flimsy. Why they didn't use cloth wrapped wire to make these is beyond me. Perhaps in a hope that people would rush out and buy those colored covers to help grip them? But has the same strap with it as the console unit just in color. The tricky part is finding something strong enough but skinny enough to loop to the controller eye itself.

Passthecrablegs: Let me give you a warning with the wiimote. It is shaped like a modern remote control and has the flimsiest cord that hooks on to it and goes around your wrist. There have lost of cases of the cord breaking the wiimote going through tv screens, windows, walls. YOu are using some force playing the sports games. I'm very worried about it because my tv room has 3 antique barrister cases and the orignal house windows (160 plus years old). At the minimum I will wrap a thin wire around everything until I can find something better. So think of something to help keep this baby from breaking (or sliding off skinny wrists like my youngest has). Who wants to wreck the holiday by having an accident?

HollyBerry: Yes it does come with one wiimote and a nunchuk. But if the kids (or we adults lol) want to compete against each other the second (or third or fourth) controllers are great to have. If the kids are into the boxing game and want to beat the daylights out of each other instead of the wii-guy they need the wiimote and nunchuk extra. The nunchuk plugs into the wiimote.

Holly Berry: I am so tickled yours is on the way. We have plenty of the games here but are all out of the remotes/nunchuks now. I have no idea how they matched their orders up on what to ship since they are way out of proportion. I suspect more of these - including the point card that I still want will be hitting the shelves before Christmas. I've heard more people are fully loaded with the accessories and games just no wii to use them with lol

Jeep Mom is right. I have been able to score 3 (last one yesterday from CC). All I got online by looking and looking and refreshing and countless horus. Got one for my kids; one for my college daughter and one for a friends family. You want it - you work for it and work hard. Worse case scenario go to fleebay
