  1. a ton, if thats what they actually make with or without rebate, I would buy 20-30 of the hard drives alone at those prices and several other things, quite possibly every one I could get my hands on.They are 3x cheaper than any model on pricewatch, the catch is, its a hassle, and you have to shell out 130 a piece for a 20 dollar total item and then wait for 100 dollars in rebates between 3 different rebates, one which will probably get lost and limit of one per household on the rebates.
  2. yeah probably, but for 30 more dollars you can have the 89.99 one at kmart that is a 7" name brand memorex and would be much more enjoyable, a 3.6" screen is quite small. Walmart running one for 79.99, and I imagine Best Buy and Circuit City will both have deals on portable dvd players, so probably wait to decide until you see their ads. Twice the screen size could make a big "watchability" difference" Radio shack is not known for quality dvd players if it is indeed a "radio shack" brand player.
  3. hrrmm well those are all 4-5 year year old technology, coming to the end of their lifespans, I have owned all 3 but have also recently ebayed all 3 of them except the games to get the money for them while I can, and invest it into the new systems which are all backwards compatible with the old games. if you are getting something this year then why not the xbox 360 (note not an xbox)... it definitely blows all of those systems out of the water if you have the $ for one, and will be what everybody wants... that or the ps3 or the new nintendo (both early-mid quarters next year). The 11 and 9 year old probably would want the xbox 360, but if getting old system for kids might as well go for gamecube for the pricing and kid friendly games.
  4. The buying up xbox 360s might be a good idea to resale on ebay... depending on how much they will go for and what kind of supply they are in, I hear of many many people wanting to do this as a small business venture.
  5. It gets worst every year here at best buy, was there at 4am last year and already over 50 people in line. By the time it was ready to open I'd say there were close to 1000 people in line about 1/4 mile long going around and out of the whole shopping center, lots of die hards here and in a tech savvy market. If best buy runs deals I need, I'll be there 3-4am, if sears or jc penney runs some jewelry stuff for the misses at insane rates, I'll be there.

    JC penny and Macy's

jc penney indeed does have nice door busters, and usually give out free stuff to the first customers, I got a 2ct diamond tennis bracelet with white gold there last year for 149 which was one of their door busters. They had several others though, especially on christmas themed clothes. If you want the door busters there you need to be there when it opens, as they will go very fast and limited quantity, esp jewelry, I think it was 5am here last year when it opened and a pretty good crowd.
  7. Yes I'm very unimpressed... gotta wait for best buy, also lets not forget staples and office depot also run some very nice tech deals.
  8. Yeah I'm not really impressed, especially all the after rebate stuff at compusa, seems like they ran better deals (with similar products of yesteryear) at quite a bit cheaper and better prices, I think they had roughly the same prices on LCDS last year. These for the most part seem like same deals they will run on say one of those 6 hour things or Labor Day or something, come on its BF they need to seriously slash the prices. Also I thought more retailers were trying to get away from all that rebate stuff. Rebates are fine and all but for some people like me, getting a lot of after rebate stuff really puts a burden on how much you can buy and put on a credit card. I can afford the stuff, but putting all that stuff on a credit card, paying the interest waiting for a rebate to come in and possibly having rebates not come in (which has happened several times) is just not worth it to me. Also not sure if anybody noticed but not really any great deals on Jewelry, but haven't seen jc penny or zales etc. They had some really really good deals last year if you are in that market.
  9. they had memorex 25 pack DL discs at compusa for 29.99 about 3 weeks ago, hopefully there will be something cheaper for thanksgiving, or insane prices on single layer also works, need to stock up. They used to always give away free or 2.99 `100 pack cd-rs on BF... maybe dvd-r will be like that this year.
