Garth Brooks probably has a deal with Walmart that keeps the price up. They had two distinct items for sale on black friday, one being the same set they couldn't offload last year at only a $5 discount from the previous year. Some secret item! .

Sure does. One hour does not a laptop guarantee make. It also pays to listen to what others had been saying about Office Max. Obviously most had justly stayed away in order for this person to be the second in line at 4 AM. False advertising might apply only if there was an clearly stated, not implied, minimum stockage level per store. This is very hard to prove with larger chains who send their stock to cities based upon demographics. Chalk this up as a lesson learned and another store to avoid like the plague on black friday. You will have better luck to camp out at the larger stores than to expect miracles from office supply stores who specialize in ink toner cartidges and paper clips. They just do not have the means to deliver the goods based upon meager distibution channels. You could be first in line and can come up empty handed. it has happened all too many times before, it is regretful, but a fact from these poser stores.

Computer games online can be free(not MMO'S), unlike xbox live. something else to consider if you have a pc that can run newer generation games.

Good point, but on black friday, things are rather busy and much too crowded. Hopefully, people will check their boxes on subsequent purchases.

This literally meant one ticket per item. I received one of any front cover item i wanted. They came out at 2:30 AM and tried to limit it to one item per front cover, and to make it one item per family, and then realized that they were about to have a riot on their hands. At 3:45, the guy came out and begrudgingly said that since the paper had indicated otherwise, we would get the items as originally printed. There was a huge sigh of relief from the crowd! I was #5 in line, and the mood was fantastic from there on in!

Now that Wal-Mart has posted a lackluster sales ad, use them to do your afternoon pricematching. Make them prove that they are the low price leader. Small, easily matched items will suffice. Did anyone notice if that Garth Brooks set was the same set that they couldn't offload last year, and a secret to boot???
