  1. I'm with pretty much everyone else. I don't like that most stores are opening on Thursday. For the last few years I have started out at Toys R Us. I waited until my kids were about to go to bed, kissed them good night and headed up to get in line there. We waited out for hours, made friends in line and had fun. I'm not going to cut into 1/2 a day of family time in order to go shopping. I hope that there will be some backlash over this and eventually we'll see the trend swing back the other way.
  2. I'm a little bummed too. I really hate that so many stores are opening Thanksgiving night. I like BF to actually be on FRIDAY! My kids are only 3 and 5 so I'm shopping for toys but none of the stuff that they've been asking for is on a decent sale. I can get the stuff now in the Big Toy book from TRU.

    ad okay

TRU is usually my first stop but I don't think I'll go until later on Friday this year, if at all. None of the stuff that my kids really want is in the ad. There are a few little things I may pick up. It's definitely not worth going there for an 8 pm Thursday opening. I want to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family, not spend most of the day in line.
  4. This is one store that I always shop on BF. I make hair bows and tutus so I love their 70% off ribbon!
  5. Stalking Gottadeal a bunch of times a day hoping for an ad to be released. I love the anticipation.
  6. I love Kohl's BF deals but I always shop them online. They usually start early so they're my first one done. Their stores get too crazy on BF and they aren't big enough to handle the crowd. I went one year and that was it. You couldn't move in the store!
  7. We usually get our from The Disney Store too.
  8. I see a few things that I may pick up. I wish there were more Dora things on sale because I have an almost 3 year old Dora fan. I'll probably pick up some stuff and be sure to save my receipt in case it is on sale cheaper on BF. I definitely want to try to get the Doc McStuffins stuff. Do they give rain checks for items that are out of stock during a sale?
  9. Awesome! Thanks! I just got some cute stuff for my 17 year old stepdaughter for Christmas!
  10. DVDs, pjs, slippers, boots. I mostly shop for everyone else but I have a hard time resisting a pair of boots for myself.
  11. The Doc Mcstuffins set is already hard to get. BJ's has a cute set online that has the doctor kit and a Doc McStuffins doll with it.
  12. Sleep is for the weak. Gottadealers go all night long!
  13. Everyone has a choice. No one is forced to go out on BF. If you don't have someone to watch your very young kids then don't go.
  14. Yeah I'm guessing they'll be opening earlier next year. I was at the mall BF early in the morning and I was surprised that some stores weren't opening until 6 a.m. I was waiting for Sephora to open but found out they weren't opening until 6. I was done at the mall by 5 and wasn't about to hang around for another hour so they lost my business that day. There weren't many people waiting at Penneys that day either.
  15. I was in Children's Place at 3 a.m. There was a woman there with her mother and 3 kids. She had a little girl who was about 5, a boy who was about 18 months old and a newborn baby. The baby was sound asleep in a stroller. I don't know how she got that stroller through all of the crowds in the mall. The 18 month old was apparently sick. He was coughing this horrible croupy cough and he and the 5 year old were crying and whining that they were tired. Mom and Grandma just ignored them and kept right on shopping. I felt so bad for the poor kids. Kids that age have no business being out that time of night. I posted something about it on FB and someone got all offended. She said she always used to take her kids out and how some people don't have a choice. I let it go but I so badly wanted to say "yes, you do have a choice." If you don't have a sitter, stay home. There has been one year since I started BF shopping that I didn't go and that was the year my DD was born. She was born at the beginning of November so she was only a few weeks old come BF. I was breastfeeding so I couldn't leave for long and I wasn't ready to be separated from her anyway. There was no way I was taking her out in the cold, in the middle of the night, to go shopping in crowded stores with strangers breathing their nasty germs all over my newborn. I shopped from home that year.
  16. I got the Honey Badger shirt and another shirt. Thanks!
  17. Our only local paper was closed.
  18. I got my papers and for some reason we have no Best Buy or TRU ads. No one around here can find them.
  19. I love that guys shirt! How's it going out there BigJim?
  20. I'm guessing they aren't giving out condoms as a freebie. That would cut into their business for next year.
