  1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-LEGO-City-Police-60047-Police-Station-Includes-Car-Motorbike-Helicopter-/121153985834?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item1c35571d2a My son desperately wants this set and I'm hoping to find a deal on it this year. He's an awesome kid and would totally love it.
  2. I think some of the deals are pretty good. There are definitely some good toy deals especially when you factor in the $15 for $50 Kohl's cash. The deal for the KitchenAid mixer is pretty good. $199 after $50 rebate plus $45 in Kohl's cash. There aren't any kids clothes but it's possible that some of the ad is missing or that they will be added on. They have adults and juniors clothes so I can't imagine that they'll leave the kids out.
  3. Line cutters are definitely the worst. People who try to grab an item right out of your hands. People who take their kids out shopping. I'm lucky enough to have someone who can stay with the kids. I go shopping and my husband stays home. But it bugs me when people say they don't have a choice other than to take their kids out because they don't have any one to watch them or they have to take their newborn because they're nursing. You do have a choice. Don't go. Stay home and shop online or if a friend is going out see if they can pick up an item for you. The year that my daughter was a baby and still nursing I didn't go out. I stayed home and did my shopping online.
  4. I don't like the earlier hours either. The only thing I find easier about it is that I just stay up versus sleeping for a while and setting an alarm. I found that last year the stores didn't seem as busy overall. It was also weird to not really have to wait in line outside most places because I didn't go at opening because it was too early for me. Oddly, I kind of missed the waiting out in the cold part. I don't mind the early sales online. I shop them on Wednesday while I'm waiting for pies and such to cook and I shop on Thursday while watching the parade. I never go to Kohl's on BF. I only do their sale online!

    Disney Store?

I can't seem to find any info on this year's sale.
  6. I think I'm going to have to make myself a cup of coffee soon to wait up for this one!
  7. I usually buy them at A.C Moore. I don't usually find many deals better than that.
  8. I was looking for toys and they were a bit disappointing. The Ninja Turtle vehicle is only .79 more if you buy it right now and the actual Ninja Turtles are cheaper now than they will be on BF. I'd rather pay the extra .79 and get the vehicle now and not have to fight the crowd. Target is usually one of my #1 stops but nothing really jumps out for me this year. If I were buying electronics I might feel differently though.
  9. I won't be shopping there that early either. There's nothing I want badly enough that I'll go stand in line in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner. Shame on the people who will be there shopping that early. It's unfair to say that "well if you take a job working retail you should know you'll have to work holidays." That's bull. For many, many years most retail stores were closed on Thanksgiving. Most stores opened at 5 or 6 a.m on Friday. It's called Black Friday because it occurs on FRIDAY! Not Thursday! Stores have never had 5 p.m. Thursday opening times so people who took the seasonal retail jobs or who work there yearround didn't know that they'd be opening that early. Last year they opened at 9 p.m.
  10. Thanks so much for posting it! I usually get quite a bit out of the sales in this book but nothing stands out as really great this year. My DD wants the Sofia Amulet and it's cheaper now than it's listed for in their sale book. Oh well!
  11. I've seen some trying to jump the line at Target and Toys R Us while waiting outside. Both stores usually have police officers present though and they quickly take care of it. I'm sure they figure it's easier to remove a few line jumpers than it is to deal with a riot breaking out over those line jumpers. I always make friends with those around me and we normally close ranks as opening time nears. I have problem with throwing an elbow into someone's ribs if they try to cut in front of me.
  12. Standing in long lines Shivering out in the cold Best day of the year!
  13. Many stores are now opening Thanksgiving evening. How do you feel about that? I've seen people protesting it on FB and in news articles online. If a store is opening at 8 p.m. Thursday night will you be there waiting in line prior to that? It's kind of ruining the experience for me. I love Thanksgiving and I enjoy that time with my family. I also love Black Friday shopping. I didn't mind spending the day with my family and then head out around 10 p.m. to get in line(although I preferred the days where I could head out around 3 a.m.). But I don't want to have to head out at 5 or 6 pm to get in line. I'm not going to do it. I'm sure it'll mean that I'll miss out on some stuff but so be it. I hope that there's enough backlash against it that soon things will swing back to later opening times. I don't mind if stores go live with their ad online on Thanksgiving. I actually like that. I can easily shop from home while I wait for dinner to cook or while we watch the parade on TV. But I'm not going to go out shopping in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner.
  14. I don't like that stores open on Thanksgiving. I miss the days of 5-6 a.m openings. That way there was plenty of time to eat my dinner and dessert, spend time with my family, get the little ones tucked into bed and maybe catch a bit of sleep before heading out to shop til I dropped.
  15. I hope you're wrong too! LOL I may be doing some last minute birthday shopping this year! Luckily, she's turning 4 and wants pretty much every single thing she sees on a commercial so shopping for her is easy. But here's to hoping for a sale on the Ring Around the Rosie Mooshka doll, Dora stuff, Ninja Turtle stuff, or a kid camera being on sale!
  16. Not until Nov 3? That sucks! My daughter's birthday is Nov 4th and I usually shop the Big Toy Book sale to get stuff for her birthday.
  17. I've only picked up a few things far. My daughter's birthday is the beginning of November so I usually focus on that first.
  18. I didn't realize that. That sucks. I live in NJ but I am about 5 minutes from Delaware which has tax free shopping all of the time. So I guess I'll just go back to more brick and mortar shopping in DE.
  19. Their ad says all toys from Fisher Price, Playskool, Little Tikes, Barbie, Disney Princess, etc. will be 50% off. But the site only brings up select items. Not all of those things are showing as 50% off. Almost none of the Crayola stuff ends up 50% off and a lot of the other stuff isn't either. WTH!
  20. I went and checked out the ribbon at Michael's and their selection sucked. Almost everything was pink, purple, peacock blue, lime green. Those are NOT Christmas colors!
  21. I am ridiculously excited! I love Kohl's and the fact that it's one store I can knock out of the way early.
