  2. I don't think anybody but wal-mart price matches. I know K-mart does not.

I think wal-mart covers anything but another wal-marts ad. in other words in states like Wisconsin where things can not be sold below cost you can not bring in an ad from a state where they can go below cost. makes sense I guess but I sure wish some how they would get Wisconsin to change that law.
  5. Our store started to do the ticket thing on the last couple of big things to come out in Electronics. What they did I believe was hand out tickets starting at 10 pm to people who were in line for the item. They then were free to walk around the store. I do believe they were still suppose to stay in the store but they did not have to stand in line at that point. So it may be something you will be seeing. Last year for the laptop they did that at the store we went to. We were handed a piece of paper with a number on it and were then allowed to walk around the store. You had to stay in the store but did not have to stand in line. Then at midnight when it was time to give them out they did it by who was #1, and so on. So it seems like it may be an individual store decision.
  6. the one last year was a compaq presario and it was available to buy at 12:01 November 5th. I first heard of it on this website.
  7. Has anyone heard. Like last year they had the laptop computer on sale on Nov. 5th. I got that one for my daughter last year. The hardrive went out on it but I had bought the extended warranty plus it was still under warranty anyway. Hp was very good about the whole thing shipped it to them they put in a new hard drive and shipped it back it was only gone a week. So we have been very happy with that laptop. Just curious if they will start gread deals earlier again like last year.
  8. People there is a chance that the leather coats and cashmere sweaters were there alright its just that they had them with all the other softlines stuff and they were not marked or signed to show they were on sale.

I like to shop in Wal_Mart I don't shop in Target. I am sorry but I just don't understand why wal-mart wants to be target and they are not happy with being who they are wal-mart. My brother lives in Eau Claire Wisconsin. There is a super wal-mart there and there is a super Target there. Guess which one has the most customers and the most people shopping at it??? I know I have been there. Wal_mart that is who...... Why do you think Target has a better enviroment???? I don't think so. I buy wal-mart clothes I don't buy target clothes. Sure I have gone in shopping to Targets but I usually come out with nothing. I know they say Wal_Mart is trying to be like Target. I just don't get the why part of that. If I wanted to go shop at a Target I would go shop at a Target.
  10. Ye Ha!!!!! We do get the $4 generic drugs!!!!! What they have done is the ones that would be below cost well those are priced higher but the ones that we can get without it being below cost we still get them for $4.!!!! Yes!!!!! They still need to change the laws about selling below cost so that we can do that though.

Thing is Wal_mart needs to take into account that they started with the rollbacks and the sales early. So those sales like of the laptops and the tv's that are rollbacked are not counted in the Black Friday Sales. Personally I think they should have had all the sales on Black Friday and not switched it to where they did the laptops early. JMO
  12. Alot of the main blitz items and the secret items were in the action alleys. But the robers were just in the middle of softlines there was never any kind of sign on them at all to even leave people know they were on sale. I wonder if we sold any of them. The hot wheels cars were not out the idogs were not out. The $2.50 towels and $14.00 sheet sets were not out. They had to go look for those and bring them out. It was just very unorganized. I was shocked at how it was. When our store would close for Thanksgiving Day everything was always out and where it was suppose to be on Wednesday Night or else no one left the store til every last thing was found and in its place. Heck it wasn't just the customers that didn't know about the secret items half the people working at the store didn't know anything about them either.
  13. true they could have done that. me I was done working at 10. heck we were taking the stuff out of the boxes from 7pm on thanksgiving night and putting the stuff on pallets so it could be shrink wrapped. Now me I am thinking that stuff should have been done way before 7 pm on thanksgiving night. Other years when we were just a store and not a super center the stuff was always ready to go on Wednesday night but then the store was closed on Thanksgiving Day. We didn't use to leave til everything was where it was suppose to be and checked off as being there. Now the store stays open and it seems it doesn't get checked off.

My point is also that alot of the folks who shop at Wal_mart do not have credit cards alot of them probably couldn't get credit cards. Alot of people would be way to much in debt if they did. Taking away layaway definitely hurt them alot. In my city we have a wal-mart and we have a k-mart. Well there were alot of cars at k-mart. K-mart still has layaway. Me I have credit cards but then again I am someone that never used layaway I always used credit. But there are people who do not have credit cards and don't want them.

The thing is just like there are people like my daughter who may I add is only 15 years old who will only wear certain clothes from certain stores and would never buy those clothes at another store. Alot of this is to fit in I mean kids are like that its called peer pressure. But.... just like those people are that way there are alot of people like me who would never buy those more expensive clothes. The only thing I am willing to pay alot of money on is shoes and that is because of how my feet are. I would never ever ever pay $35 for one pair of blue jeans NEVER!!!! There are alot of people out there like me. There are probably alot of people out there who do not even know that Target and Boston Stores are owned by the same company. I would never buy my clothes at a Boston Store unless they were way way discounted. If Wal_mart wants to have a store for upscale then they need to make a whole new store totally seperate from Wal_mart. But they need to leave Wal_mart itself be itself!!!!!
  16. that is what I am thinking is what happened at alot of stores in reading people post about stores not having things. Also let me say the ones complaining about quantities it is that way at all stores on Black Friday that supplies are limited. It is unfair to come down on Wal_mart for that one. I think the layaway thing is what hurt. Alot of the people who shop at wal-mart do not have credit cards and it would probably be a bad thing if they did. This pushing credit cards on people is not going to work anymore then the pushing upscale on people is going to work. All they will end up doing in alienating the people that made them what they are today. We had lots of stuff that was not out on the floor as it was suppose to be on Black Friday morning. Lots of things that they had to go look for and then bring out. My thinking is it was on the truck. But the main thing was that those who worked overnight on Thursday Night did not take the blitz ad and the secret items ad and make sure that they were all out on the floor. Normally with a tab things are marked off so they know that everything is there. So yes it was very disorganized.
  17. those saying that their wal-mart did not have things. Ours was missing things at first also did they went to look for them. But ours did not do the truck that came in on Thanksgiving night. My point being with the secret items they may have been on that truck.

If it isn't broke don't fix it. In my opinion wal-mart is making a big mistake in trying to take it upscale to wealthier customers. Do not do that. You will lose the customers you do have. If wal-mart wants to sell things to wealthier customers then they need to create a whole new store with a new name. I can't believe they don't get it. Its what bag the thing goes in. People who shop upscale do not want to buy something and have it put in a wal-mart bag. When I was younger you could find the same sweater in two different stores. One being a discount store the other being one of those fancy malls stores. The one in the mall cost over $30 the one in the discount store cost around $10. The only difference is the bag it was put into. Me I love wal-mart. I buy everything at wal-mart and I would never pay the money that my daughter pays for those clothes at stores like Pac-sun, American Eagle, Abercrombie. Just like she will not buy blue jeans at wal-mart. Its the label and its the bag. A huge part of it is the bag it is taken home in. I know that sounds dumb but sadly its the truth. If Wal_mart wants to appeal to upscale wealthier customers then they need to branch out with a whole new store new name everything. You can not put new more expensive brands in wal-mart and expect it to work. They can do this. Look at the main company that owns Target. Target is for normal folks. I consider Boston Stores more pricey. They don't try to put Boston Store stuff in Targets. You want to appeal to upscale people then come up with a new store. But you keep the wal-marts for those people who have made wal-mart what they are today you don't dump them.
  19. when I left work at ten last night the black friday items were all still the same price. Usually our store sells them at that price til they are gone.
  20. ours price matched no problem I saved $50 on movies.
  21. (Subsequent to the initial publication of this story, Toys 'R' Us informed CNNMoney.com that the company was notified by its supplier late Wednesday that there "was a high probability" the retailer will have T.M.X. Elmo in its stores over Black Friday and the weekend.)
  22. no it is not the same Garth Brooks stuff. This year they are dvd's of live concerts.
  23. I am thinking of using my extra 10% off on this tv so I was checking it out on wal-mart.com one thing I found interesting is this. Also sold in many Wal-Mart stores. Prices vary. Have you notice things say that before?? I mean normally prices are the same aren't they?? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4698017 I quess I am just hoping that there are going to be alot of rollbacks and clearances.
  24. that would be one a week til Christmas starting Novermber 1st. plus a blitz ad.

    Tickets?

I have to say I am just amazed at how unorganized some of the Wal_Mart stores are. There is no reason for all that chaos. Heck at our store they always give out tickets for the big things and for new game systems. They hand them out at 10 pm when something comes out at midnight. Heck when we had lines for the play station 3 in the morning our store took them out donuts and coffee. They got to come in to lawn & garden at 6 pm. When it was for the Wii they got to come in at 8 pm and were given chicken tenders and potato wedges. Had no problem with either one of the game system. You can do things nice and orderly or you can do them chaotically and stupidly. Just please do not blame the company Wal_Mart for what happens it is the individual stores it is not the whole company. It is the people running the individual store. You tell me how a person is suppose to get a 42 inch tv with out a ticket. It isn't exactly going to fit into somebodies cart now is it??? And last year in some store they were throwing the laptops to the customers that is plain stupid!!!!! But it is individual stores it is not Wal_mart the company.
