  1. Although I'm Catholic, I like to leave my decoration up until Orthodox Christmas, Jan 7. I keep a few items out all year. Willow Tree Nativity Scene & a Cookies for Santa plate in the dining room and a Merry Christmas candle holder in the family room.
  2. Mine have been up for about a week now. Holiday dishes were switched out Nov. 1. Yeah, a bit early, but I have a lot of decorating to do. I have one in the living room and another in the family room. Once Thanksgiving hits, there is too much going on, I like to have the house decorated early, so we can enjoy it & not be stressed out that everything needs done in a hurry.
  3. Santa gets all the credit here. I dread when the day comes when he doesn't.
  4. The description does not give much info about durability or which age it would be most appropriate for? Does anyone know if this could stand up to a 7 year old?
  5. Never hid merchandise @ WM, but have moved a few Tommy & Ralph Lauren items from little boys dept to the Women's dept and found them several weeks later. I was so happy to learn that not only were they marked down 25%, they were also the sizes that I needed.
  6. Nope, my sister has Thanksgiving at her house every year. We all bring something to help. I'm making a cheese & pepperoni tray. I have Christmas Eve at my house, usually 25 people.
  7. Our SuperCenter WM has always been open on Thanksgiving. We go around 2am and hang out until 5 am when they tear the paper off of pallets with the door busters.
  8. Even though the ads are awful this year, I can't wait to get started. I LOVE the excitement.
  9. Mine does too, it's nice because they never have the door buster stuff in their respective departments.

    Guitar Hero 1 or 2

Does anyone know if you can plug in 2 guitars and play together?
  11. We usually finalize our plan Thanksgiving evening. Most likely we will start at Walmart (price match as much as we can), Target, Kohls and finally end up at the mall.
  12. There's just one logical explanation for the horrendous ads - the monkeys on the careerbuilder.com commercials took over. Here's an idea - because the deals are so bad this year, let's boycott BF this year - Retailers will be panicing by noon and restrategising for the rest of the holiday season -- We'll start seeing the deals that we were expecting for BF by the following weekend.
  13. Right there with you. I'm not excited about any of the deals I've seen this year. But I will still be out at 5 am. Merry Christmas :)
  14. For the past 8 years, we've done white inside & out. We are adding blue this year.
  15. If you are going to BB plan on getting in line around 11 pm and making it an all nighter-Last year our local BB had a line curving around the building @ 2 am. They also took the fire codes into consideration, so once the store reach it's posted capacity, they limited the # of shoppers - (2 came out, 2 went in). I can only assume it will be worse this year because of the PS3 and Wii both newly released.
  16. My father in law is 73 - last year I made him a calendar on imagestation.com with family pictures, birthdays & anniversaries. He asked that we do the same for him again this year. :)
  17. I refuse to do returns or price adjustments on BF- If I know my kids want something I'll buy it at regular price, then again on BF. I'll return the one @ regular price later.
  18. I thought Walmart has always matched competitor ads? I match prices on every visit.
  19. Not excited about any of the ads for video games-Does any body know if Guitar Hero is one player or 2, can you plug in 2 guitars?
  20. Giant Eagle & Get Go have doubled their fueling offer - Now it is $0.20 off for every $50 Gift Card that is purchased - YIPPEE - I am using my credit card (to get their incentive, then pay off of course) to buy gift cards and I get discount on gas. Perks for money I was planning to spend anyway.
  21. They are relatively close for the most part, but I prefer to shop at my favorite stores - although there is a Target right down the road from the Walmart that we will start out at, we prefer a different Target - We will be all over South Western, PA.
  22. I have been shopping BF for 15-20 years now - The one thing that drives me nuts are the grumpy shoppers. Every year, I am honored with some crab (usually someone's husband) behind me in line grumping about the long line, how busy the store is, blah-blah-blah, anything to just complain. (My soap box) Come on, you know every year BF is day after Thanksgiving - it is no secret that the diehards are out early waiting in line to get our kids whatever they want from Santa- WE ENJOY IT, don't kill it for the rest of us. (off my soap box) What do you think - What drives you crazy year after year?
  23. Order to the madness?? I am a big fan of Target, last year register lines were crazy - then I got a call from a girlfriend who said she couldn't believe that there was noone in line at the first few registers. As people were coming out of electronics and toys they got in "the line". Lines for the last 3 registers stretched to the back of the stores, while the other registers had few to noone in line -The fairway to the register was completed jammed. Target employees were just standing there, not directing shoppers at all.
  24. Gotta agree, the pad for the game system is the way to go. I was able to get 2 dance pads & the DDR game at Sam's for $49 several months ago.
  25. PSP @ Walmart for $169 is a great deal--too bad I'm not interested in one.
