Just spoke to 5 different managers at WM's around me
Gporter34 replied to megnsamsgrace's topic in 2006
True, you can pm items that are on sale, but the items on the "blitz" at WalMart for BF are usually in special packaging or a different size. If it is the same exact item in the same packaging, they will pm. But it is rare to find the toys or electronics that will be on the blitz ahead of time. Hope this helps. -
What is the most unusual way you wrapped a gift?
Gporter34 replied to momof5plus1hubby's topic in 2006
I just wrap the gifts normal and then put an ornament on the bow so that when the kids are grown they will have all of these ornaments from each year. -
We have a birthday on Christmas Eve(DD will be 13) and hubby is Dec. 26th. For her we always have a birthday party around noon on Christmas Eve. Nothing Christmas is involved, just birthday. We do the same for hubby the day after Christmas. It definitely makes the holidays more hectic adding two birthdays.LOL She has never complained because we always let her choose a weekend before Christmas to have a sleepover so that she still gets a party with her friends.

Well, that would definitely cause a lot more confusion, that's for sure!LOL

Maybe your WalMart is preparing for a natural disaster!LOL

I agree with Gator Pam, my all time favorite is the Norelco commercial with Santa going down the hill on the razor. But I also like the M&M's commercial where Santa and the M&M see one another and faint!LOL

Next weekend will be when we do the outside of the house, if it's nice. This weekend has been rainy and a little cool. So, I did all of the inside decorations.LOL But by next Sunday they should all be in place. I'm actually running late this year, they are usually up Nov. 1st. I love Christmas decorations and I just always put them up early.

I don't blame you for not wanting to go back. I'm not going anywhere today!LOL It's pouring down rain and cold right now and I have two trees half way decorated with garland, wreaths, and everything Christmas strewn from one end of the house to the other!LOL
-
I agree. I think it's sad that so many kids nowadays don't have that same innocence that we had when we were growing up. They want to grow up so fast and miss out on all of the magical things that make childhood so great. I love Christmas and am probably more excited about it than my kids. I wish that they understood that there is so much bad and evil in the world today that they should take the time to enjoy the "real" magic like family and all of the wonderful things that the holiday season brings with it.

The kitten we had a few years ago loved to sleep in the tree. She was small and didn't bother anything. On the other hand, our dog loves to knock the ornaments off of the bottom of the tree. We have to put the cord up high also so that he doesn't chew it up. Even the new baby (5 week old mini daschund girl!LOL) is trying to mess with the tree. It's like having toddlers all of the time!

I am sure that there is a Santa, if there wasn't, who has been eating the pumpkin pie and egg nog that we leave out for him on Christmas Eve???!?!?!
-
I would be mad, too. I only go in our JCPenneys if they are having a great sale or on BF to get my snowglobe.LOL That's it for me. I missed the sale this time, forgot all about it and I hate that I did, my sons wear alot of the SouthPole sweatshirts and hoodies, too.

I am soooo happy to get this ad! We got a Fred's last year right before BF and I love it. They have great deals year round, but their BF deals are really nice. I think I will have to check them out for the steam cleaner and vacuum cleaner. They are nicer than the ones WalMart has on BF!IMO

Well, hopefully no one who doesn't like Christmas decorations will see my house anytime soon. I think it's a personal preference and I wish I could decorate for Christmas all year. I love the lights, the tree, and the spirit of it all. The movies, the music, the parades, and the concerts. I am running late this year due to the hours that I am working, but this weekend is the "Official" Decorating Weekend for us.

Yep! Bummer! I really had a great time in the chat room last year.

My favorite Christmas memory would have to be going into th woods with my Mom and my Grandparents to pick a tree. We would mark it with a red ribbon and then a couple of weeks before Christmas we would go back and cut it. I go overboard by most people's standards every year to make sure I leave all of our kids with great holiday memories, however, they could care less, they just say I get on their nerves with all of my Christmas stuff!LOL
-
I like all of the ones I have, but I think my favorite is the small squirrel that I put in the tree every year in reference to my favorite Christmas movie, Christmas Vacation.LOL
-
I bought my son the Durabrand stereo two years ago and one for the girls' room last year. They have both been reeally good stereos. If they have them again this year, I will probably get one for my room.LOL
-
We decorate more than anyone on our street, but we have some beautiful neighborhoods around our town who really go all out with the decorations. Hopefully I will be able to get more creative as the years go by.LOL
-
Hmmm...I am wondering just how much it will be marked down for the Blitz?!?!?!
-
We used to leave out milk and cookies, however, I heard that Santa was tired of that, so now we leave out pumpkin pie and egg nog!LOL
-
We don't have a KMart or an Ace so I am not disappointed yet. I think I am a little spoiled because WalMart was the first ad leaked last year and I am wanting it BAAADDDD!!!!LOL
-
I will only get things for others if they are physically unable to go. I have found that if you say you will get things for others on BF, there is no end to it. I tried that before and before I knew it several people were asking and saying,"Since you are getting something for so and so, will you pick up some things for me?" and things like that. I will pick things up for someone who is getting things for me at another store though!LOL That's a great trade off IMO!

Teachers Gifts-What do you get, how much do you spend?
Gporter34 replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in 2006
We have five kids in school and the total number of teachers is around 35-40. No way will I be buying gift cards for that many teachers and hopefully their teachers will appreciate whatever I can afford for them and realize that while it would be nice to get a $20 or $25 gc from the kids, that may not be possible for everyone. -
I want one for around the tree, but I don't like the Christmas ones that I have seen lately. They look cheap and awful.
