  1. Not to go against the flow, but I have a king serta that was from a Mattress outlet place and it is about 5 yrs old with no problems. My wife and I both love it and haven't had any issues. Quiet, even during certain times! and doesn't sag. We have been happy with it. One thing with mattresses though is that they are made regionally, its cheaper than shipping them everywhere. (At least thats what the sales guy told us.) Could it be possible that it depends on what factory it was made in? I always like to buy my mattresses cheaper as long as they are comfortable and replace them every 5 to 7 years. A mattress thats used everyday takes a lot of abuse. Plus you don't realize it because the degradation is slow to where you don't notice. I couldn't imagine sleeping on a 10+ year mattress.
  2. In buying an Oreck or Dyson you are buying marketing. I don't want to say they aren't good vacuums, however a lot of people have said they are overpriced for what you get. Look at the consumer reports best buys located above or consider Sanitaire. I saw a dealer do a presentation that sold both types and the Sanitaire was cheaper and more powerful than the Dyson. Thats just my opinion. Hope it helps.
  3. Any of these showing up on shelves yet? I still can't find any in my area!! When is the next big shipment due in? Any info would be appreciated.
  4. They bought out Famous Barr in KY. Maybe thats their plan...gobble up everything then close it all!
  5. As someone who did ALOT of research before buying one with my wife (notice with!) I would recommend either buying a bargain basement one for 200-300, or spend the money and spend 1 - 1.5K on one. Anything else and you will probably wish you didn't purchase it. We wound up buying a Janome 9700 and got it for $1500 which was a great deal. Someone bought it new then returned it without using it. They sold it to me for the price of a demo machine. There are a lot of offers online as well, but be careful because having that dealer support is critical. A good place to find some info is sewforum.com although it is sponsered by a dealer that sells machines online. Check out the Brothers as well, they are a little cheaper and are running a $100 rebate until the end of the month. Go to their website for more info brother-usa.com and look for the sew-a-thon. Hope that helps!
