Pricing for 32-inch 720p (progressive) scan LCD-TVs are expected to decline to US$480 by November, with Black Friday specials possibly as low as US$299. This is down from an average of US$634 in June. For 42-inch Full High-Definition (HD) or 1080p sets, pricing in November will fall to US$628, down from US$856 in June. Black Friday specials could be as low as US$499.

Are "Christmas in July" sales really sales compared to prices on BF or the day before xmas or just a way for stores to put out their xmas stuff early or to get rid of stuff from last season?

the first post used to be pretty spot on, until Target started mixing things up a bit and now they don't always do things according to "schedule"

But Target and Kohls and Kmart don't have a ticket system either. How would Walmart know things had the potential to turn ugly? I'm going to say it again - you KNOW if you step on a person or an arm or a leg, you know that you are not stepping on just the floor, and if you step on someone and then continue to run to get a tv or whatever you have your priorities pretty screwed up, period! I don't care if someone behind you pushed you, at some point you have the ability to stop or scream or do something. How many people were on their phones at that exact moment telling someone "you should see this crowd..." or taking pictures of the crowd with their cellphones? I want to know how many of them hung up and stopped and called the police? And how many kept shopping?

sketchers & nikes last longer than cheaper shoes, they cost more but last longer, especially nikes my son outgrows and we pass them along to someone else they never wear out before he outgrows them, but for the gym shoes that you have to leave at school I buy cheap shoes because they get worn about an hour a week and are for the most part only worn inside and are too small by the end of the school year, but they still look pretty new

"door-BUSTER" does not literally mean "bust the door" I'm sorry, but you know if you stepped on a person or not, and anyone that steps on a person or a part of a person and then keeps on going to get a tv that's on sale or whatever is completely in the wrong! People get there later than others and then think that they have the right to push and shove and run to get things before the people that were waiting in line and got there before them. It happens at other stores too. I got shoved and pushed at the Old Navy sale recently for $1 flip flops.

It's always the same price there and you can never use their coupons on it, I think it's pretty much the same price everywhere.

But my point was that they will hold it for the rest of the day, and it's safe to do that.

It is not risky at all to purchase something and leave it at a store to pick up later, people do it all the time and not just at Target. (I just did it at Kmart last week and didn't pick up my dryer for 3 days) You usually have to show a receipt in order to pick up the item & if they can't find the item for whatever reason they would have to give you a refund.

I predict that on BF someone will post that they went into a store (not waiting in a line over night but just getting up and going to a store after they open) and then complaining that they didn't get an item that was in an ad, and then say that they are "never shopping at that store again".

That's what my ad says, but I went up to the customer service desk and asked and she said "you're fine" so I asked again if I had to spend $25 on groceries or just spend $25 and she said that my coupons would double, so I'm not sure what that means... I did spend over $25 but some of it was dog & cat food and my coupons still doubled. It's like they are trying a different angle every time they have the double coupons, they keep changing the terms/rules. I wonder what that's all about?

You can pick up at the store, there's a place to enter in a zip code and tell them which store you want to pick it up at.

But they included Webkinz which were rarely on sale.

Use a Joann's or Michael's 40% coupon. Not sure about Joann's, but if you sign up at Michaels.com they email them to you all the time.

I'd check and not just assume that

I think that's something you're going to have to check all of the home improvement/hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot...) near you and watch for a sale.
