when you do the potatoes in the turkey (or chicken) pan, i make sure to add extra butter to the pan and after about half an hour i check on them and make sure they're all in the juice and spoon more juice on top of the potatoes to keep them moist (if need be i add water if it's not enough). and test them with a fork to see if they're tender enough. just cook them till they're the way you like them. i usually do an hour sometimes a little longer. i'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

i use to collect the disney ones. each year after christmas i would take my son up and we would get 2 at 50% off. but being that they were the characters from the movies he and his little sister would take them off the tree and play with them and so now we don't have any.

i love the smell of a really tree but with 7 cats and a 1 yr old golden retriever that wouldn't be a good thing. i think they might like it a bit to much lol. thanks for all the comments, still looking.

i hear you, there's nothing more stressful then working so hard to put the lights on that darn tree then plug it in, only to have half the lights out. don't want to deal with that again!

i used to have a nice collection of disney ornaments, every year after christmas i would go and let my son pick out 2 hallmark ornaments, but with little ones in the house they thought they would be fun to play with and there went that. so now i'm doing just plain balls, but i think i'm going to go with the blown glass look this year i still have a small box filled with glass decorations and i'll just pick some more up, i like the blue garlins around the house and white on the tree. now all i got to do is make sure the dog stays away from it because this will be her first christmas, lord help us. lol

we need to get a new christmas tree, (thanks to our rabbit who ate the cord). we had a fiber optic for the last few years and it was nice. but after it's decorated it's hard to see the lights. so i'm thinking of getting a pre-lit tree, but not sure about it since i never had one. i'm worried that with the cats they may pull the lights out and then it won't light up. has anyone had this problem, if you loose a light do they all go out? i would be greatful for any help.

my dd is now 5 and she understands about christmas now so now we can't do this but we got away with it up till now, we would take her to a store like toys are us and see what she would go for and the stuff she would play with in the cart is the stuff she got if it didn't hold her attention for long it got put back. most of the time those were the toys she played with most at home. so you can try taking her to the store and see which one she likes the most ( be ready you may have to buy her something small just to hold her over till christmas) but thats what we used to do. lol now my dd wants everything she see's boys or girls toys doesn't matter what it is. it's just a constant "i want that" lol this year will be easier. good luck.

my son's bd is 12-06, he's right in the mid of thanksgiving and christmas so for 6 weeks i'm going nuts, and paying for it the next 2 months lol, i give him a party or we go to a toy store and he gets extra gifts his choice. i try to give extra notice to his friends so they can make it. we do the party decorations then after a few days we put up the christmas stuff.

i think it's the funny looking. it made us laugh, and if you go tothe thread "Cats - can I keep her out of the tree?" there a pic someone put in that shows a tree hanging from the ceiling, lol now thats funny. i'm wondering how they decorated it.

we have 6 cats and our biggest problem is the knocking off the decorations, they like to grab the garlin and play with it, the gifts never go under the tree before christmas eve and the yall get locked up in the bedrooms that night because one year they pulled off the bows and tore the paper. if your nerves can handle it, lol it's just a little extra work. lucky for me they never gone up the tree, but then again we don't use a real one

well last yr i cooked a chicken. it's just me and the 2 kids so when i do a turkey alot of it goes to the animals (our cats, the dog, and the cats in the yard). but this yr i'll probably do a small turkey since my boyfriend will be here. one thing i really love is putting chunks of potatoes on the bottom of the turkey pan an hour before it's done. as they cook they soak up the turkey juices and come out soooooo good everyone loves them. i've also done this with roasted chickens and thier just as good. just got to remember to have enough water on the bottom of the pan. along with the uasual stuff. since we live in NY we always watch the macy's day parade while i'm cooking. turkey stuffing (stove top) corn on the cob potatoes (from turkey pan) mash potatoes (dd don't like other ones) peas string beans candy yams homemade pumkin pies

i was about 8 and got up during the night to us the bathroom and saw my mom sitting on the livingroom floor wrapping gifts, i was so surprised that i forgot to use the bathroom and went back to bed. my son 12 never believed in him and my dd calls him "ho ho" from his laugh, she's 5. i have friends who's kids still beleive, but from what they tell me the average age is around 10, then the kids start to figure it out.

i got my toy catalog in todays sunday paper, i was hoping that the TRU big book would be in there too. i missed it last week, guess i'll have to go to the store and get one

i have said something when they gave back to much money because i wouldn't want the cashier to come up short and get into trouble, or if i catch them missing an item that they're ringing up i'll tell them because if you know that they missed it and don't say something then it's no different then if you stuffed it in your coat to steal it. it might be a mistake but your still walking out with out paying for it. if the stuff is on sale and you got it for a good price that's great, but if it's bothering you then you could always go back to the store and have it fixed. your the one who has to decide what to do.

my son is 12 and he asked for wrestling figures, cube world ($30 very good), star wars light sabors, the transformers are good, along with super hero's action figure. for girls i would say also the cube world or you can give make up, barbie,or bratzs dolls ( my 13 yr old niece loves these dolls). you can go into toys r us and put in the age your looking for and they give a long list of toys to choose from. you might get some ideas for there and the prices too.

Does anyone own one of the chou chou baby dolls?
lisamag replied to Jennifer0530's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
my dd asked for the chou chou doll for her birthday but i didn't care for the one TRU had at the time, but from your reviews i think i'll get it for her for christmas. thanks -
after talking to my mom she said the pepsi comercial i spoke of was a coke commercial and that it was trucks not a train. well either way it's the one i like, lol. does anyone remember that one? is it pepsi or is it coke?

i went into KB's to do some shopping and got my son the "cube world", this was back in sept and the guy said that they had to reorder them because they were going fast they had just gotten them in again. you get 2 cubes in a package and they go for $30. i was laughing my butt off just watching the stuff they were doing ( i wanted to open them and try it out... but it's a gift for my son). you can connect alot of them and they interact with each other or by themself. i also got the Barbie Twelve Dancing Princess (the three little ones) from TRU's. i still need to get the my little pony walker and the talking dora cash register they seem to be hot items. if you keep watching you can get some good sales now. i got the barbie dancers when they had a buy 2 get 1 free sale.

one of my favorites is the holiday train from pepsi, when it passes the towns the buildings light up with the christmas lights with the music paying in the back round. it just looks so pretty. and the folders is nice and having a brother who was in the army i know that feeling of a surprise visit. the polar bears are very cute.

What do you do to remember the true meaning of Christmas?
lisamag replied to Adamtanderson's topic in 2006
well since the bible don't give a date when christ was born i don't celebrate it for that reason. i try to live my life doing as christ wanted us to do everyday and it's a real shame that for alot of people this is the only time of year they remember him. -
all the items i bought are always in bigger boxes, sometimes they break the order up into several boxes, but i guess if it says it can't be gift wrapped that it might also be to big for a shipping box and you might want to go to the store to get it. or call and find out if it's to big for a shipping box. just a thought.

What Gameboy Games are best for a 4yr old girl?
lisamag replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
i got my dd winnie the pooh (she's 5), she also liked the care bears game, and finding nemo, along with the ones already mention. -
one of mine is when my brother came home from the army and we went shopping for lights and gifts for our mom. he put lights on everything, but it really looked nice. he set it up so that when you put on the overhead light the garlins hanging on the ceiling also lite up, and speakers behind the tree so that the music came from behind the tree. for christmas he gave me a stereo and some records. he didn't want me to know what it was so he took the records and made them look like a box. i wasn't aloud to touch it until christmas morning, when i opened the box it was empty because the box was the gift lol it was quite a surprise. when i saw the inside of the box was rapped i figured it out. but i got even that year i gave him a gold chain that i put into 3 boxes each one was smalled than the last lol. that yr we had wall to wall gifts don't think i'll ever forget that christmas.
