Getting cranky b/c it looks like they may be pulling a switcheroo - 'select' toys from x and y brands 50% off, rather than everything from those brands at that discount. Waiting to see if things update further. ETA: Ah, the fine print! They're not doing 50% off a lot of the 'online exclusive' toys. I have a Kohl's MVC card and the mailer I got had 2 15% off coupons, not the 15% and $10 off. What the heck?!

I'm not 100% positive it was 2 years ago (will have to check the archives) but there was one year when everyone must have been trying to get on the site at once, refreshing over and over, etc, cos the site kept crashing. At certain points it wasn't available at all; at others your entire cart would disappear. I think that happened to me about 8 times that night! It was obvious they weren't expecting the traffic they got and people were really frustrated. I persevered and got my deals, and the following year there were no problems!

Uh oh! Maybe you should attach some kind of padded strip to your forehead! I hope this one goes smoothly! I'm having flashbacks to the debacle of, what was it, 2 years ago? Oh the humanity!

I'm 99.9% sure I used a 30% off when I ordered online last BF. Everything wound up being insanely cheap. ...hmm, now I'm starting to doubt myself. Where the heck is that order confirmation email?!

The $15 Kohl's Cash thing has started.

I don't know about 'impressed' if you're used to HE stuff, but a lot of things are a fantastic bargain. It really depends on the specific item: I love their Studio line brushes (especially the flat powder brush) and blush, and Mineral line eye primer. Stay away from the eyeshadow palettes - in my experience most are really poor quality. Try makeupalley for reviews - I always check there before trying anything. Then again, if they have free shipping, you don't have a lot to lose trying a $1 (or $3, or $5) product.

I sincerely hope no one is camped out in the NYC metro area...it's cold and raining here!

Was just on Amazon and I couldn't find it...did they take it away for Black Friday? I just put some things my mom wanted for xmas in there last week. (Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere.)

Everything I was looking for was. The selection on a larger scale varies (like non-specific toys, clothes, etc) from what's available in most stores, but individual things named in the ad should definitely be online. As long as they haven't sold out, that is!

I'll definitely look into those Panasonics. That's what ours is (LCD though, not plasma) and we haven't had any problems with it.

Looking for a TV for my grandmother, 32-42", preferably a name brand. Will likely only be shopping online. Suggestions? ETA: 720 px is fine

I've done BF online for the last 2 years and was overall very happy with my experiences, but it's definitely hit or miss, just as in the stores. You need to have relatively fast internet, check regularly to see when sales go live (time zones cause confusion, and often the website doesn't get updated when they say it will), and be patient! It's also important to remember that hot doorbusters go FAST, same as they do in the store. Be realistic in your expectations.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed there'll be a 15/20/30% off code for cardholders...IIRC I used a 30% online last BF, making my deals insane.
