CostCo vs Sam's vs BJ's
Gator Pam replied to Great Dane Mom's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I only have Sam's locally, so that's where I belong. But I understand BJ's allows you to use coupons, and more than one coupon on a single multipack of the same item. If the selection, selling price, and membership fees are similar, this would be a big reason for me to switch if BJ's ever opened here. -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06
Gator Pam replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Welcome! ITA it would help but I don't buy all of the deals I report that I find, so I don't have the number on a receipt to refer to. And I don't write down the DPCI (which is what the 9 digit number is called) off of the shelf tag. Just perimeter perusing inthe past has gotten me tailed by security on occasion since the shopping pattern is so differnt from the typical shopper. I don't want to add writing down DPCI numbers has another reason to be followed. I truly don't think that's necessary, as all items will eventually go clearance at all Targets, if they don't sell out first. But, that is just MHO. -

Argh! I scanned the bocce set when I was there this morning, but figured the crochet would scan the same when the bocce set scanned at $89.99. Even I need to remember to scan everything I'm interested in sometimes. Great find. Those Eddie Bauer sets in the wooden crates are nice! -

This is a good point but town and state doesn't really make a difference in Target Perimeter Perusing. What makes a bigger difference is getting to know your particular Target(s) and how quickly they do markdown their clearance merchandise. Like sneakers, I only have one Target close by, the next one is about 45 miles away. I have come to find that my local Target tends to be behind on the markdowns posted, so I can start watching items I hear about that I'm interested in. However, I am occasionally surprised to find a non-seasonal item posted about on a board will be marked down as soon at my Target as I hear about it. Unless I know what I'm looking for and am watching an item, I tend to miss out on finding an unposted deal myself. Why? Because when you do only have one Target locally, many times there are quite a few Perimeter Perusers doing the same thing you are at the same store. So, the clearance deals disappear quickly once the markdown happens. I am lucky in that I live about three miles away from my local Target, and my work schedule is such that if I do hear about a mark down I'm really interested in I can run right over and see if my store has marked it down yet. But even then I do miss out on a lot of deals. -

I am so glad y'all are finding the newbie guide to shopping Target helpful. Keep in mind though, that 'perimeter' also means the endcaps of aisles in departments in the middle of the store that are not on the main aisles. For instance, if there is a partial wall between boys and girls clothes, there may be clearance endcaps near there. And, even if not marked in any way or on an endcap, scan anything that may interest you. Something may still be shelved in it's regular place and not marked, yet be on clearance already. Have fun and enjoy the 'thrill of the hunt!' -

Great finds everyone! I really wanted that Calphalon set, but it was long gone from the Gator Town store. -
DEAD - Target 12 pk Sodas - $0.68 after Coupon
Gator Pam replied to bravesrule62382's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Actually, if a regular Target carries the product, they will accept a Super Target coupon for the item. :) -
Kewl! I wish I had a cell phone so you could call me when you got close, but if you have an idea when you may come through I can try to be off the computer (still on dial-up) and wait for a call at home.
-
Kewl! Will you be coming by Gator Town on 75 this time? http://kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/hijacked.gif

Has anyone here ever done the samsclub.com auctions and gotten great deals? I only found out about the site this week. The auctions ending soon seem to be pretty high priced.
-
Do you know how much of a mark down that is on the Monopoly set? Or what the original retail on it at Sam's was?
-
This is why I pretty much only read threads on the web about Target. All the other major discounters appear to be store stock generated mark downs, not corporate dictated clearance like Target.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06

Have you scanned the individual toys you're interested in? Please don't trust the signage and stickers on the package. Anything at Target you're interested in always double check at the price scanner. -
Ah...OK. I saw that the Black Friday forum was closed, and had forgotten it had been merged into the Holidays forum. I'll post any upcoming holiday clearance in the appropriate forums. :::most likely offline, as I rarely shop online:::
-
This is the second time in a row I signed on to the forums and the Holidays forum is not listed. Have those boards been moved to another forum or deleted? I was looking forward to discussing Valentine's Day and Easter clearance over the next few months on those boards.
-
Well phew!! I also went yesterday, and the signage said 75% off. My CVS has installed a price scanner back by the pharmacy (yay!), so I scanned the 300 count multi-colored lights. When those scanned 75% off, I figured all of the merchandise was at 75% off. And now my van is in the shop again until at least 5:00. :::sigh:::
-
These are the scanned prices? Here in Gator Town, most of the toys are still stickered at 30% off, but are scanning lower, with many already at 75% off. Several holiday themed dishware and Rubbermaid containers at Gator Town are still stickered and scanning 30% off. However on the AOL board some posters are saying their cashiers are manually adjusting the prices to 90% off. YMMV.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06
Gator Pam replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I have found on the seasonal markdowns that I have to go as soon as the markdown happens. If I wait until the second day of 90% off, there's usually nothing left. -
Man, I really wish there was more than one Target in my area.

That's exactly how I feel about the tree skirts I got for $3.99.
