  15. We went for our annual trip to Branson, MO last weekend. If you've never gone, this is definitely the time to go. The crowds are not at all bad and there are alot of great Christmas shows and displays. We ran into Mrs. Claus while we were shopping. She was definitely the picture of who I had envisioned as Mrs. Claus: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/secrease731/027.jpg At Silver Dollar City, they have quite a few live shows. Our favorites are the Fa-La-La Follies (Cowboy comedy) and Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". While we were in line for Fa-La-La Follies, it started to snow. At night, they have a tree-lighting ceremony that has lights timed to Manheim Steamroller's "Carol of the Bells" and a parade (which got cancelled due to weather). Here are a few pics of my DD trying to catch snowflakes and of the displays (including the tree with a couple of different lighting sequences): http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/secrease731/049-1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/secrease731/056-1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/secrease731/070.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/secrease731/069-1.jpg So, does anyone else have pictures to share?
  16. Done with: Christmas cards, buying presents, and wrapping (my last delivery should be here tomorrow and it's from Santa, so that'll just get put into her "Santa Sack" with everything else). Since DH and DD are off for Christmas vacation, they're in charge of getting the house straightened up and buying the groceries (hopefully, that'll be done no later than tomorrow). I'm baking (4) pecan pies - 2 on Friday night and 2 on Saturday night. I promised DD we'll make some sugar and gingerbread cookies, so we'll probably do those Sunday morning. The only other cooking I have is casseroles, so that will just be done the morning before we leave The only other thing I HAVE to do by tomorrow is pick up a few stocking stuffers (mostly snacks/candy).
  17. I like to be surprised on Christmas. DH on the other hand, is the worst! Even though he doesn't snoop, he likes to count his presents under the tree and gives presents early (and call them "family presents"). I can never help smiling though ... I'd rather marry a Big-kid than a Scrooge
