  1. Where do you get the 40% off coupon for Michaels? I would have never thought to look there.
  2. My son is also into Thomas. I noticed that our WalMart has gotten in a lot of Thomas stuff. The pricing is about the same as TRU, maybe a little cheaper.
  3. Is anyone in the Lubbock TX area out there?
  4. I don't want to sound dumb, but what did you mean by this?
  5. Driving down the highway to the next town @ 2 a.m. thinking that you are so ahead of others. Only to be passed by other BF shoppers trying to get there too. Nothing like seeing carloads of (mostly) women racing down the highway. Our State troopers could probably meet there monthly quota on this one morning with BF shoppers.
  6. I bought the Hummer ride on vehicle for my son last week. It was already at the ad price.
  7. we were able to go shopping on BF together. We are all so excited about it. At home my family thinks I am completely crazy. I think I would have blast to go with some that is as excited as I am.
  8. I was just thinking.....Only two full work weeks. And two paydays away. lol
  9. Are they hard to install?
  10. I would always check my email as soon as I signed on to my computer. Now I find myself checking out this website first. So VERY addictive!
  11. I did the same thing last year. I bought my 6 y/o son the GB SP, but I bought my 4 y/o the Leapster. Then they got the VSmile together, but my 12 y/o got the PS2. My 4 y/o plays the Leapster, but prefers the GB SP. This year he will get the GB SP. Then all three boys preferred the PS2. Looking back, I should have just bought them all the GB SP and the PS2 as a joint gift. Would have saved my money and a lot of fighting between the boys. From experience, I think you son will be okay with either choice.
  12. I have 4, 6 and 12 year old boys. The older two have the GB. But my 4 yo tries to play it any chance he gets. I am buying him one for Christmas. I like the GB because you can take it with you. It makes road trips so much better. Even the Doctor office is quieter. They have games that are appropriate for the younger kids also. But I don't think you will go wrong with either one. My boys also have the Leapster and V-Smile.
  13. With the ages of the boys, you may consider getting them all the SP. I have boys (12, 6, 4). My two oldest have the SP. The youngest has the leapster. The youngest wants there SP all of the time. If they all have the SP, they can share the games. You would not have to buy Leapster games, SP games and so on. In our house, we have community game cartridges. My 4 year oldwill get the SP for either his B-Day (12/18) or Christmas. That way they all have the SP. No more fighting. No get me wrong, they all play the leapster too. But if I were strapped for money I would do the SP's and different games. You can get some really good deals on games on BF or even now for that matter. God Bless you for taking in those boys. My nephews are being raised by my parents. "Your" boys may not have received many gifts in the past. They may not expect anything much and probably will be extremely happy to just open a gift. They will be happy with whatever you do. Good Luck.
  14. My MIL. She always goes overboard on my boys and DH. But I usually get a key chain or candle. I wish she would just save her $5. It is kinda insulting when my boys and husband are surround by gifts and I have a small key chain. Especially when my parents do the same for me as they do for DH.
  15. Most things in the stocking and all of Santa gifts are wrap. I wrap in Santa paper for the Santa gifts.
  16. I think usually they require 10% down. I put the Hummer 12v on layaway for my boys yesterday, and it was only 10% down. Layaway is the best hiding place for Santa gifts. But you have to have it out by Dec 16. But then I only have a few days to worry about them finding it. lol
  17. I bought this last year a few days after Christmas at WalMart for $40. I would not have given more than $40 for it personally. I have 3 boys (4,6,12). They liked it okay but it was pretty flimsy. It is tall. my husband is 6'2" and it was quiet a bit taller than him. Needless to say the electric parts are not longer working. It took me most of the afternoon to assemble it. Good Luck!

    PS 2

My son is 12 too. He asked very day if the replacement cord had come in. He was so let down when it didn't work. Now I am making him wait til BF to see if they do have a good deal on the PS2 before I will let him use the warrenty money to buy a new one. Good luck with yours.
  19. We usually have a outside lights up by now. We are a little behind. We just recently moved and have to have more outlets installed outside. My DH goes overboard with outside lights. We don't turn them on until Thanksgiving night. We usually put the tree up BF night. Can't wait.

    PS 2

Ours was doing the same thing. We got the replacement part, but it still did not work. So I just contacted the TRU warrenty. They must have had a lot of complaints because I got my check in less than a week of sending in the game.

    PS 2

I did purchase the slim design. I am glad I took the warrenty. Do they still make the original design? Even my DS wants the "fat" one this time.

    PS 2

Plus you should be able to get a package with games or a free accessory on BF. I bought one at TRU last year on BF. It game with something free. I don't remember what it was. But I purchased the warranty from TRU. I sent the PS2 in a few weeks ago because it wasn't working. A few days ago, I got a check in the mailf or $160. So now I guess I will be buying another one this BF. That $16 warranty definately paid off.
  23. I bought the V-Smile last year for my boys. I had a VERY hard time finding the games. Everyone was sold out. Also, try to find an AC adapter. The large console does not come with it. You will go broke with buying batteries. I noticed that WalMart stocks the adapters now. My WalMart even has some of the older games on clearance for $11. But it is a great investment. Good Luck.
  24. Depending on how big you want. We bought a 64" Sony last year. It was kinda a last minute purchase but I don't recall any BF ads on Big Screens. I would just keep an eye on the circulars between now and then. I noticed that my WalMart has some on clearance recently. Good Luck.
  25. The layaway line at all of the WalMart stores in my area usually wraps around the outter edges of the store. I would absoluting avoid layaway if at all possible.
