LOL! That's fabulous. My DD4 keeps asking when Daddy is going to get little. He has also asked for a picture. He thinks that as he gets older everyone older than him gets younger so that when he is an adult all the adults he knows will be kids. Too bad it doesn't work that way!

Sat Oct 10th Old Navy Doorbuster $15.00 Puffy Vest
Sandi852 replied to angelic680's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I believe so. I have used the % off on all sale items, so I don't see why not. Used it last night on the 2 for $15 items which made for a great deal. -
Agreed! I think maybe we have the same DVD pile from last year!
-
I'm thinking that Target might shake it up a bit this year and not do their usual 2-day ad and offer doorbusters this year.
-
That would be very interesting. I would definitely have to consider that!

My Walmart just changed from a regular store to a 24 hour Super Center. This should be intereting. I'm hoping that most people won't understand that yet. There are no signs anywhere yet that say they are open 24 hours so maybe that will work to my advantage.

I'll be there!!

I was thinking the same thing. I don't have a buddy to shop with so it usually takes until 5am to get out of Kohls. In the past I have left Kohls, grabbed some coffee and headed to Target to get in line. Looks like I may need a new strategy this year. Maybe this will allow me a little more sleep!

I'm going to be sneaking the moon sand into the trash this week! Hate that stuff!

I have been hearing lots of complaints from friends, family, co-workers, etc about Christmas stuff being out already. Personally I love it. I spend lots of time in Target checking out what I want to get at 75% off! You can't blame the retailers for putting it out. If they get an early sale of something, all the better for them. Their product certainly isn't making any money sitting in the back room.

Peelie is on its way. Got the card also and then got the typical magazines style advertisement with the peelie. They were stingy this time and I only got 15%! -

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
Sandi852 replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
DH snagged a $22 Icoaster at the Macedonia Ohio store. He is not a deal finder, but I gave specific instructions. He was amazed. He wasn't sure what else to look for. He said he was in a hurry to get out of there because there were so many people in the toy dept. DS3 wants on of these for his birthday, and at $22 I have no problem getting it for him. -
I just can't leave this alone! The guy watching TV just screams monk! What is it about the red one? The other colors aren't so bad, but the red one just makes me ROFLMAO. I probably shouldn't make fun. . .its going to be like 6 degrees here next week and I might not mind so much looking like a monk.
-
We LOL everytime we see the commercial. The red ones make us think of monks.

Home Depot in Medina, Ohio had only a small section left but I managed to get two packages of candy cane rope lights for $3.99 each. I have been looking everywhere for these. I also picked up a nice wreath for my front door for $4.49 and a couple of large containers of green, red and gold shatterproof ornaments for $2.74 each.

What are you hoping to find on clearance?
Sandi852 replied to guilliam's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Yes! That was my first stop the day after Christmas and I loaded up. DH just looks at me like I'm nuts, but doesn't complain since they're like $0.50! -

I have a strange obsession with gift tags and I love buying them after Christmas on clearance. I have a whole drawer full of them and always get more after Christmas. I know that logically I can never use them all since most of the time there are like 50 or so per package, but I can't help myself! My new favorites are the ones with the little strings. These make re-using gift bags really easy. -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009

Strongsville Ohio store had 75% off of snow pants and some winter coats. The snow pants were in boys sizes 4-20 for $4.24. Coats I saw at 75% off were 2T-5T. Not all the coats were 75% off, but they had a pretty good selection. Christmas still 50% off here and hardly anyting left. No trees, wreaths or outdoor decorations. They still had a ton of those ornaments in a box. -
I think that this is just the way Kohls handles their pricing. I would never pay full price for anything there and I know that on some Saturday during the month I will likely find what I am looking for at least 50% off with an additional cardholder discount. Macy's and JCPenney do their pricing the same way. Everything is always on sale and if it isn't the pricing just doesnt make sense. This is likely the product of numerous expensive marketing studies that have shown that people buy when they are given a "sale". Their pricing is inflated so they can advertise big percentages off which in turn drive customer traffic.

Glad you got the apology you deserve. I am a mom of 2 boys who have to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes. My oldest is 6 and doesn't like to go in the women's restroom with me anymore and my youngest is 3 and likes to comment on EVERYTHING that's going on in th bathroom. Stuff like Mom, why does it stink in here? Mom, what was that noise? Most of the time I am rushing out and not making eye contact with anyone! Love the family restrooms! Just curious. . .how old was the employee that was so rude to you? I have had some really poor customer service lately from the high school aged employees. I hate to make a generalization, but lately it seems like I have gotten to deal with every cranky teenager working in retail.

Black Friday Sales up a modest 3% despite Recession Fears
Sandi852 replied to Carazariah's topic in 2008
November sales being down overall makes sense. Part of the weekend after thanksgiving (that Sunday) will fall into Dec for most retailers. The week after thanksgiving last year fell into November and this year falls into December with the shift in thanksgiving. I do number crunching like this for a living and we always see the shift of sales from Nov to Dec when thanksgiving is late. No matter how close to Christmas thanksgiving falls, it still seems like thanksgiving is the trigger to start shopping. I am hoping that retailers do OK this year. I expect them to be down, but hopefully they aren't down too badly. More job losses to come if that's the case.
