Sorry if this is in the wrong area, but I'm trying to suss out deals for Sea World (FL) and Aquatica (their new waterpark/opens March 1). For Sea World only, the best I've been able to find is $49 for kids and $57 for adults (each at a different Web site). Sea World online has a $80 special for the two parks that's unlimited admission for two weeks. I'm going the first week of March. I think the $80 deal is pretty good; but I'm wondering whether any Orlando residents might have seen any better offers as Sea World tries to ramp up excitement for Aquatica. I have family down there who could definitely take advantage of any brick-and-mortar offer. The $80 special deal has to be done online a week in advance, which means I'd be locked in before we get there and wouldn't be able to take advantage of anything better. Oh, and although I grew up in Florida and know the area pretty well, I'm always appreciative of any new tips and tricks about events or attractions that weren't around 20 years ago! Thanks to all Floridians!

My 6YO daughter's backpack is giving up the ghost -- zipper gone, one strap broken, pull handle coming off -- after one year. I don't plan to spend $20-plus every year for her, so I'm figuring on investing in an L.L. Bean backpack -- when it breaks, you can send it back, so I think the extra money is well worth it. Can anyone advise when the best time to buy one is to take advantage of any price break? The one I'm eyeing is $65, which is only three years of crappy backpacks at her current level of abuse <g>, but still, awfully expensive. I don't see any codes right now. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether they routinely go on sale at the end of summer or something. If so, I'll wait.

I didn't consider ANY prepaid phone that had that $1 a day thingie. At that rate, it's like buying a plan, and not at all worth it. Official Photo Prints Deals, Codes & Discount Offers Thread

I was looking for it also to report on my progress - you're talking about the one regarding the Amazon connection, right? I couldn't get the B1G1 calendar offer to show up in my shopping cart; I e-mailed back and forth twice and couldn't get anyone to really help, then today I called their toll-free number and got a helpful guy who logged onto the same Amazon/shutterfly splash screen, saw the B1G1 offer, and also couldn't get it to take, so he just deducted the price of one calendar from my order and I was good to go. Highly recommend going this route if you can't get it to work. Log into Shutterfly through this link to start: amazon.shutterfly.com -

Thanks Shopping Mom, but we had the Little Touch and it just didn't work too well, plus I really don't want to invest in a whole 'nother round of cartridges and such (we already have the regular LeapPad, plus the Leapster). I'm just looking for a self-contained unit. Elena, I will check out the Hot Wheels laptop; am worried about its recommended age, though. Amazon says it's 5-8 (at which point, I may as well get the Leapster)

Hi guys, my son constantly wants to play with my daughter's Leapster, but he's really too young for it. I have preK games for the Leapster and they're really all too advanced for him, though he likes to noodle around with them. I don't want to get him his own Leapster this Christmas - saving it for next Christmas. In the meantime, he also loves her little fake Barbie laptop, which does almost nothing and isn't at all educational. So I figured one of those learning laptops would be a great idea for this year. But which one to get? Can anyone recommend the best one for about $30? I don't want one you have to hook up to a TV, or one that works with a real computer ... just one of the "play" laptops that is suitable for a kid who doesn't read yet. THANKS!

I like tracfone -- coverage is better than ANY traditional company up here where we live in the boonies (I can get reception in my house, which I'd never been able to do before -- had ATT, Nextel, Sprint and Verizon) Minute plans are fair, and we got this promo deal where we bought 800 minutes and got double minutes for life -- that means whenever we buy more minutes, they're automatically doubled. Added bonus: I've REALLY cut down on my cell phone usage now that I watch that little minute counter! My phone bill was $70 at a minimum every month and half of it was fees...

Did your local Target use their new checkout line on BF- it SUCKS!
kren replied to thearmstrongs's topic in 2007
Saw firsthand the difference between the two styles of lines -- at my Target, it started out as disorganized lines to all registers, snaking in different directions, with nobody able to move through the front of the store because of carts in every possible aisle and between clothing racks, all in line. That didn't work at all. After about 20 minutes, Target instituted a single-line system. I don't know how they eliminated all the other lines (I was checking out at that point -- maybe they let everyone in another line check out first?) but they compressed everyone into one line and had someone stand there and direct you to the next open register. It seemed to be more smooth after that, AND .. it was incredibly easy to get around the store since all the auxiliary lines vanished. -
Yeah, Brad, what they all said. Best place on the Internets for saving money is right here!

Well good grief. That's the last time I wait outside a Target on BF!!!! Thanks, guys!

At the risk of seeming like a wet blanket (and I love the BBW sales too!) -- antibacterial soaps are notsogood for us, since a bit of bacteria is a good thing and these products may be increasing superbugs resistant to antibiotics! I try to grab the non-anti-bacterial cleansers; they're just as effective...

% off worked but I checked on the phone with customer service & the codes aren't stackable. Still, I grabbed a five-level garage playset closeout $30, THREE pairs of Converse Chucks for two kids and my hubby that ranged in price from $12 - $34 (all way cheaper than the "sale" price @ Converse.com) and a shirt for me for $5. Thanks!

L-Max games play on your TV. But they also play on the Leapster, just like on the L-Max Leapster. When we first bought the L-Max, I used to obsess over whether the games I bought were L-Max, but after the initial thrill of TV-game-playing wore off, my daughter never uses the TV feature of her L-Max anymore anyway, so I just buy games and don't even check to see whether they're L-Max or not. They all work on the Leapster, so it doesn't matter (I wish I hadn't spent the extra $$ for the L-Max....:)

*** Official WHAT DID YOU GET? / YOUR EXPERIENCES Discussion Thread ***
kren replied to JeffDowney's topic in 2007
Line at my Target in Pa. stretched the entire length of the building by 5:30. At 6 they opened the doors and at least 100 people tried to rush the front of the line from the warmth of their cars, where they'd been hunkered down. But yay, Target! They had pushed shopping carts along the curb as a barricade and security guys were making sure they couldn't jump the line and people were yelling at them and I got to run over someone's foot so they couldn't get in front of me. I have never seen such a crowd. And it wasn't that huge a sale, either. I got what I needed with no trouble. Meanwhile, at Best Buy, the first people in line had camped out since Wednesday. Yes, Wednesday, not Thursday. -
FYI, anyone else looking for it, it's half off at Target today. Yay!

Those coupons are always only for regular-priced items. The best you can do is 40% off all Thomas today -- BF (no coupon needed)... and throughout the year, use your weekly 40% off coupon to buy one item at a time (during weeks when they don't have a crummy 20% off sale, as that would then count as non-regular-priced, thus voiding the coupon.) It's a long, slow process.

BF ad link has changed to "shop now" but there are no deals to be found. Go figure.

"With Love" is the name of it; my teen stepdaughter has requested it for Christmas. It's a bit pricey @ Amazon ($55) -- can anyone recommend cheaper places to shop for perfume and/or codes for this? Thanks!
