  1. You can get great deals on these throughout the year at the outlet, just not now. I've got about five Converse boxes hidden in my closet, for my kids to wear years from now :) Good luck; sorry I can't be more helpful.
  2. Picked up all five MM 10-packs at my Target this week:) It was my first time even looking for them, and there they were, standing proudly among the 15-packs! I giggled!!
  3. I edited my msg, Gritz, sorry about the confusion. It's not the wrong forum...
  4. Sorry, I had the TV in my cart at BB.com It looked like an online deal to me. I didn't buy, though. It's expired now anyway, apparently.
  5. Sharp 32" 720p Widescreen LCD HD Television, model no. LC-32SB24U, for $397.99. With free shipping http://tinyurl.com/6y27zd
  6. this is a great deal. i paid $24 last week w/ a 40% off coupon. grrrr.
  7. I get a book done every year w/ MyPublisher. I got identical books done the first year (five years ago) with MyPublisher and Snapfish/Shutterfly (can't remember which one) because I had free book coupons with both. I wanted to compare ease of use, service, quality. MyPublisher was better quality, so I've gone with them every year since. If you can wait until after Christmas you'll get great discounts, no matter who you go with. MyPublisher just ended a 50% off promotion; I get four for the price of two, which takes care of all the parents/grandparents and leaves one for us for memories -- no more scrapbooking burden! If you really want quality, I would also suggest checking out mpix.com .. it's a pro site that recently began offering photo books. (I can't afford them there though <g>)
  8. Not to mention that Bean replaces them -- no questions asked -- if something ever breaks on 'em.
  9. depending on the age of your kids, you could save diaper wipes containers and use them for the little pieces that are always getting spread around the house. then i agree, just get the totes and use them -- advantage is you can store the totes in the garage, keep just one in the house, and rotate every month or so. then the kids think it's christmas once a month! suggestion: after christmas, the big storage totes all go on sale at home despot & lowes for about $4 apiece....that's the time to stock up!
  10. Do you have an A.C. Moore nearby? Almost every week there's a sale ad in the Sunday paper with a 40- or 50-percent off coupon in it. I use that coupon all year to buy K'Nex sets there. The only restriction is that it's 40 or 50 percent off a regular-price item. So if K'Nex is on sale that week (usually it's only 25% off) -- you can't use the coupon. HTH
  11. For the OP, here's a link that may help you research budget DSLRs: http://photo.net/equipment/budget-dslrs/
  12. i have a dSLR -- canon rebel xti -- it's two years old and i love it. i paid $1K for it and the updated version is selling for under $700, i think. i would highly recommend it, especially for a woman, because it's a smaller, lighter camera than the equivalent nikons. i've seen reviews by men who gripe about how small it is, but for women, it's a perfect fit for their hands. if she has any old lenses from an old film setup, she might want to take them into consideration. i had old canon lenses and they all work on my digital slr. i would think your mom would be fine with the kit lens at first, until she gets used to things. a better lens could be next year's present :) i also recommend B&H. cheaper than any brick-mortar store you're likely near. very good service as well, and they know what they're talking about.
  13. I also had the $10 off $10 item for Bon-Ton and could not find anything for free, or even close to it! Yeah, sure, they want you to use the coupon on their full-price stuff, but you'd have to be nuts to do that. I finally found a pair of cheap sunglasses that were 10.99 and I waited in the line and she scanned them and they were on sale down to $4.99 so i couldn't use it. i wasn't about to waste more time going back to try and find another pair of them - target was calling me, with no restrictions on their gift cards!!! i agree -- those coupons are a complete waste of trees.
  14. have you checked out Wireless catalog? There's a printed one, but they're also online. This is a link to their books/audio/video section: http://www.thewirelesscatalog.com/wireless/Books-Audio-amp-Video_1BA.html
  15. How cool, I got the pair with FS just now. THANK YOU!!
  16. At JCP for the snowglobe. Went to Bon-Ton for the $19.99 down alternative comforter (all sizes) - marked down from $120-$160. To Sears for the $9.99 men's/women's jeans and $14.99 sweater. Got an old GBA game that'll work on DD's DS for $9. Went to 5 Below & got 5 Leapster games for $5 apiece, 2 Lego Knights for $1 apiece, 5 old PC games for $5 apiece, and DD's stylus three-pack for the DS for $3. Stopped in Old Navy but the MP3 players were long gone so I went next door to BB and bought Game Party for Wii for $9.99, the iTunes $10 gift card three-pack for $25, and another old DS game -- Looney Tunes -- for $14.99. Drove to Staples, got a 4 gig CF card for $17.99, drove to Target and picked up an SD card for $8.88, another Wii game -- the Rapid Rabids or whatever it is -- for $39, a camera starter kit for $8.88 and that's enough. I saw plenty of Westinghouse 26" TVs left, and plenty of the $88 dual-screen DVD players. Seemed like everything was still in stock at most places.
  17. Sorry I just saw this -- Five Below had Leapster games for $5 today. Not a huge selection (I think there were six different ones) but it might've worked...
  18. They call it "blitz" within the company, don't they? I'd think that says a great deal about what they know will happen.
  19. Drat! FS only on orders over $75. With shipping this is $28 for me. But thanks, it's a great price...
  20. fyi, this deal is available in-store at a ton of camera stores. details on rebate and list is here (for some reason it came up huge on my screen): http://www.adorama.com/pdfs/rebates/sandiskx_011709.pdf but there also are quite a few complaints about the whole rebate process here (scroll down to the reviews). it's got me thinking twice -- it seemed like a great deal before i read the reviews: http://www.adorama.com/IDSCFE316G30.html
  21. I think there's a Wii Sims game at Target on BF.
  22. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/dap_10153_12605_DAP_DATG+Specials?adCell=A1 IT'S UP!
  23. Does anyone think the vtech will go lower? It's 43% off at amazon.
  24. actually there are quite a few negative reviews also. i was seriously considering this one, but i think i'll pass ...
  25. yeah, i also really wanted to end up picking the didj. but the limited games was a problem, and i also figured she would be learning with the DS, just not as obviously. i don't get her shoot-em-up games, obviously. i get her games that a) are highly rated and also rated E and have a lot of deductive reasoning and the like built into the gameplay. there are *some* educational games for the DS, btw, and i will be picking them up this season, hopefully. (search amazon for "educational games ds" for a list) and remember that gameboy advance games play in the DS with the included adapter! so you can also pick up educational games @ garage sales for peanuts...
