  1. Yeah, I think a lot of P&S cameras have this option - my DSLR does not, so it requires software...
  2. Does your DD have any handheld gaming system now? I guess not.... I personally would start her with the Leapster but I can't honestly compare b/c I haven't any experience with the Didj. I started my daughter at age 5 with the Leapster and she *loved* it. Very intuitive and easy for kids to use, lots of educational games. Didj is the progression system for kids like my daughter. But now that she's 7, we have gotten her the Nintendo DS. The Didj looked great, and she had a great time playing it in the store -- but there's a really limited selection of games right now. I mean *really* limited. That was the clincher for us. So if DD has no experience with any system, go ahead at get either one -- she'll be happy. There are tons more games w/ Leapster at this point, though.

    sale Video games

For the games *under* $30, can anyone tell me whether any of the DS or Wii games listed are any good? I know the games above $30 are usually highly rated, but I haven't heard anything about the cheap ones listed here.
  4. hey! i posted this an hour earlier and nobody said anything. i feel unloved and unappreciated
  5. Sony 32 in. (Diagonal) Class LCD Integrated HDTV (720p), BRAVIA® model# KDL-32L4000 Samsung 32 in. (Diagonal) Class LCD Integrated HDTV (720p) model# LN32A330J1DXZA TIA, len!
  6. Sony vs. Samsung -- any clear winner? Price would be the same....spex are about the same also.
  7. Does Kmart ship to store? Or would I have to pay shipping on those monster TVs? (I see TVs listed as an exclusion to the free shipping promo)
  8. You can do that with a lot of retailers. Payless shoes is one I use all the time -- though I'm not positive you can do it online. AAA website has a list, I'm sure.
  9. OMG, I love this thread!!! My DH's sister and her hubby always buy my kids the loudest presents ever -- they have no kids, and I think my brother-in-law gets evil delight out of our expressions! The worst he ever got was this Chevy SSR race car -- about a foot long, bright yellow, with a VERY loud rock'n' roll selection and lots of screeching tire noises and vroom vroom noises. I just checked online and couldn't find it anywhere. But I recommend a really loud, really sturdy car with lots of loud engine revving noises and rock and roll. Oh, the Sit and Spin with rock music is also really really annoying!! And the Barbie guitar with the Britney Spears songs. Can you imagine "Oops I Did It Again" 50 times in a row???
  10. No clue on those models, but Samsung generally gets much better reviews on quality and reliability. A good place to start, without getting into really technical sites, is just to go to Amazon and search for reviews on those models, or even just on those brands.
  11. I see lots of little stuff I like but it's all spread throughout the stores. No one store is standing out for me -- I don't shop at Wal-Mart so that's not an option, even though the ad looks like the best of the bunch. I'm disappointed in the TVs, and figure I'll be buying that online after BF, when the stores get *really* desperate ... LOL. But Sears, Radio Shack, CVS, Target, Old Navy are likely stops for me. Can't handle BB for what they're offering.
  12. Rats, Marcster, you had me all excited -- it's INTERNAL!!! Drat, drat and double-drat. (But thanks anyway -- it *is* a great deal, just not what I need).
  13. Kind of OT, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread -- anybody else take advantage of the Starbucks sale this week? Buy two 12-oz packs for $7 apiece (couple of bucks off regular price) and get a $5 gift card. Such a deal, if, like me, you suck down Starbucks like water!
  14. wow, they're getting slammed. way slow servers. but the stuff is there in my location, so i'm gonna persevere.
  15. i can tell you what *not* to buy -- the chocolate gold coins! there was a melamine scare w/ coins made in china just before halloween -- i wouldn't buy any of them at this point.
  16. I think I've decided not to camp out all night for a TV. The deals are just OK, and I've seen just as good deals already, both online and in-store ... why waste the night freezing?
  17. OK, what does non-anamorphic mean? Does this mean the 16:9 widescreen TVs make them look bad?
  18. That price seems about right. I got a 500GB WD external from Target last BF for $79. It's been completely problem-free.
  19. rats! i had no idea! yes they did... http://tinyurl.com/6mpq4o oh well, i guess i keep searching. i don't want warranty issues.
  20. Marcster, I'll show my age and say I remember building a PC with a 20 MB hard drive. That's right, megabytes. And it cost close to three grand, even with me building it!
  21. It's the Olevia, 720p, No. 232T. Regularly $499. Anyone have anything to report about this TV? I think I read decent stuff about Olevia. And my time is worth $50 ... I wouldn't have to camp out all night to get a $400 TV....
  22. D'you know if this is in-store only? And if it is, by some miracle, online as well, d'you have to be a member if you're shopping online? Thanks!
  23. BigSlama, are there any TVs?????
  24. Brandy, if you are in an area where there are A.C. Moore craft stores, they usually stock K'Nex and just about every week they have a 40% or 50% off coupon in the paper. That's how I stock up on my K'Nex!
