  1. took my receipt for three winter balaclavas back in today to get price adjustment (they *finally* went 75%) and got $14 back on a $21~ purchase. yay, target!
  2. I also agree that here in northeast Pa clearance is a joke. Lingerie and workout clothes have been 30% for two months, as have the neat leg warmers and funky socks that I have my eye on for my daughter. The photo albums and scrapbooking are still 30%, and while winter mittens and hats went 50% last week, full-face balaclavas are still only 30%, and I got an employee who just said "Yeah, they're only 30%, sorry, they shouldn't even be on this shelf." (But where else could they go? THEY HAVE SUMMER STUFF OUT!!!) Our global bazaar stuff disappeared between 30% and 50% -- the 50% items were a forlorn collection of two chairs, a table and mismatched tcotchkes sitting atop one area rug, and that was it. But I did get three MMs and a ton of cheap snacks for the kids so it was worth the trip.
  3. Not working for me either, and I didn't find out until I'd entered my credit card info. I *hate* that...I closed the session/window without submitting the order, but I sure hope I don't get a nasty surprise on my bill. Anyone have any experience with this company before?

    Lowes

    can't find the link either...
  5. Has anyone gotten the coupon for the free Target bags lately? I have a huge stash and wanted to send them off, but did want to make sure the promo was still valid. Also, d'you think I can send, like, 20 in one envie? Meanwhile, here, the Foodtown lets you cash in their greenpoints for the reusable grocery bags (1K points for one bag)... I don't know if that's chainwide..
  6. those tooth tunes are something like $5.99 in target!! wow, i wish i had one of those near me in Pa...
  7. there's also an earlier post about this being in people mag, which is around a lot longer than a newspaper <g> ... you could try the library if the issue is already off the stands. (it's the one with jessica simpson on the cover, the poster said)
  8. I know this probably doesn't help OP, but on the off-chance anyone out there is building a house (I know -- in this market!!) -- I heartily recommend spending the ~$800-$1,000 for a central vac system. We are in the 10th year in our house and the system is still going strong, though I had to replace the hose last year. Emptying it out only once every six months is truly wonderful. I *hated* crappy vacuums and have been very happy with this system...I know I would've spent way more than $1K on replacement vacuums over the past 10 years! just FWIW.
  9. here's the semi-monthly warning not to EVER shop from this outfit. they will steal your CC info and charge you up months later!! search gotta deal for several threads on this subject.
  10. no downloads for mac users I wrote to them and they wrote back and basically said, "yeah, sorry, we don't offer bupkus to Mac people.... maybe some day."
  11. Guys, CVS has a deal this week where if you buy $20 of P&G products you can get Mad2 for $5. With this coupon, you essentially get it for free (that is, as long as you're buying products you need/use anyway :) )
  12. just checked -- not in Wall St. Journal, but I found it in Philly Inquirer. It was not in the smaller Pennsylvania papers.... Thanks, OP!!!
  13. how big is your local paper? i don't know whether the smaller papers would get a national coupon like that....
  14. arelf27, we also don't use plastic in microwave or anything but stainless. have you tried pyrex for the microwave? i'm pretty happy with that...(i also leave the cooking to hubby, but i'm the worrywart who insists on buying the good stuff and throwing out the bad stuff <g>)
  15. Dumb question, but I've never done the toy clearance before... when y'all talk about 75% are you talking about ALL the toys??? that would be awesome!
  16. Did not see any of those left; but I got gift bags for 29 cents and gift wrap for 19 cents, so it was definitely worth the trip!
  17. ooh, thanks! d'you know how much they were?
  18. sheesh, i'm having a total senior moment tonight. only excuse -- i'm at work and have no access to my receipt -- this is why i keep forgetting what i found!!! found in home decor/photo frames section a biggg unwieldy boxed set shadow box frames (photos in a floating frame), nice mahogany stain, decent sizes, and 10 of them in the set -- $9.98 down from $39.99. Great buy -- it was the only one on the end cap or in the aisles.
  19. I looked and look throughout the off-season and couldn't find anything reasonable that wasn't cheaply made. I finally started scouring Craigslist in my area and got a great deal on a quality set. I'd recommend trying that route if you need a set before the end of summer, since you're likely to be hitting full-price spring stuff at this point.
  20. Yup, I forgot, I found the Reynolds plastic wrap with all the pretty wrapped Christmas cookies illustrating the box, but no go -- it was back to regular price.
  21. I ran into the same thing today -- all their Christmas PJ sets were -- get this, drumroll please -- 30 percent off!!! I could not believe it. I kept scanning them, going, "are they JOKING?" But yep, that was all they'd spring for. All Christmas stuff gone here in Pa. too. However, I found some beautiful gift bags over in stationery that had lovely frosted evergreens on them, and they gave me those for 24 cents (reg. $2.49). Don't forget the regular stationery aisles; there's still stuff squirreled away down there! I found a nice big fluffy bath rug "not in system" on the end caps and they offered it to me for $2.50 and I leaped at that! Got a pack of nice chopsticks -- six-piece set (12) -- for $1.48. Lots of housewares on clearance but not radical yet, so I'm biding my time. Toys still mostly 30% -- bah! I've discovered that my Target is really good at keeping up with tagging clearance. This means that I almost never find an item on clearance that is any cheaper than it's already marked.
  22. you're right. i didn't mention it. i wasn't clear. but she was. i don't use the term lightly. and sorry if it offended anyone; i'll be sure to pull my punches next time. :)
  23. Considering the service I got, I don't consider it uncalled for at all. Would you prefer brain-dead, apathetic, preoccupied, obsessed with her pose, gum-snapping teenager? Bimbo's just shorter. And if someone called my kid that and she was acting that way, she would deserve the insult. (Middle-aged housewife would be accurate, as far as I'm concerned, so not really name-calling. Now...if you called me a bimbo, I'd be mad....:) Just to be clear, I have voluntarily written an e-mail to Target this season to compliment an employee who was about the same age as the BBW worker. She provided outstanding service. I don't expect fawning servility, just basic attention to detail. When someone goes above and beyond, I am incredibly appreciative. When somebody doesn't make the most basic effort, I will take note of it.
