I personally plan more and spend more if I have a ad earlier. I think it helps the retailers in the long run. I am not about top try to plan everything if I wait for an ad the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I am simply too busy with Thanksgiving.

I am just curious to know if we have any influence over store or retailers by doing whatwe "do" here. I know the ads are always "leaked". I wonder if any retailers check us out for info or for ideas to improve shopping experiences, or even what types of products we all want and will buy. Are we important to retailers at all or a thorn in thier side?

I really don't know if it is a "really good sale price", but the reg. price was 19.99. I was keeping my eye out for a friend who wanted one..and she went to the store immediatley. Sorry I can't be more help!!

Radio shack has it on sale for $39.99, games on sale for $14.99!!

frys.com has a bundle with the Nintendo DS lite & 4 games for $209.00. Might be worth a look into.

I just got the pack with 4 of the 5x7" size for $1.97... and a pack of 8 hand or sock size for the same price. If it was BF and I I was freezing... I would give up $10 easily!!! Hows that for a fundraising idea!!LOL!!

I need to find a new place because our local resource had a tree at a local bank. One of the employees daughters family was a family "in need". The day before the gifts were to be collected , sorted, and delivered, the employee let the the daughter into the bank to "select" her kids gifts. Umm, I haven't donated with that organization since.

I use the runnermaid wrapping paper storage bags..not the boxes. I love them!!! My dh bought me 4 last year. I saw them at Costco Monday, so I might need a couple more.

I know of a few people who do vinyl lettering signs on wood. A few people are doing them on ebay as well. Try searching on ebay for signs, they often will list a customized sign so maybe a hat rack for you. I know here, people are putting the lettering on EVERYTHING!!! Walls, frames, windows, you name it. Good luck!!

Why do you think ads aren't coming out yet? I know they are leaked but I end up spending more not less by planning.

I don't know if I am dissapointed, or if my shopping needs have changed. So far I haven't seen anything I will be getting, but I have so much done already, that I am really picky. Here is to all of us waiting.. may there be something or a lot of somethings that we need/want AND can get our hands on!!!

If I remeber right, you can send in the birh certificate to name your baby. Buy one now, open it, fill out paper work and get it back by the holidays!!!

I saw it on our local news as well. It didn't say which stores, but none the less midnight!!!

Today I went to a craft store to check out decorations, and I found mini light covers that were simple balls, just like ball ornaments , but they go over lights. They are just a translucent plastic that gives a soft glow. Has anyone seen any before?

Actually when people find out I go out.. I hear more ridicule that anything. Seriously. I live in a small town where people DO NOT SHOP SALES!! All we have is Walmart- so we do get a crown that morning with it supporting around 70-80k people in the area. Nobody ever wants anything..they just act like it would be beneath them!!LOL!! I save money, they don't.

I have a rule in my house with older kids(18 &16) that the minute they say anything about someone not being real..he doesn't bring them any gifts!! They still write him letters and leave treats. My 9ds asked me today because one of his friends said something to him that "confused" him!! I lied, lied, lied andhad him a true beiver all over again. While I don't want my boys getting razzed at school, am I crazy to keep the magic? BTW, my "older" kids beieved until they were 12-13.

Obviously we all liked to "be prepared"..we are here!! Am I the only one who shops playfully until a certain moment(like now), and then panics about what is left..how much $$ it will take to finish,how much food I need to buy for the holidays, how many people still left to buy for blah blah blah? I am trying to not panic, waiting for the ads...but WOW it is almost here!!

If you decide to do it, than get all parents of nieghborhood kids to sign a waiver. Check into your homeowners insurance too. I had one growing up, but dh says "no way" for our little ones. Wehave already had broken arms without one.. I could only imagine what we could do with one.

I hit over 58 due a branchy family tree, friends, 5 kids, kids friends, employees and my co-workers. For the most part I really enjoy shopping for them all there are a couple "funsuckers" in the bunch though that are more obligatory gifts.

Keep trying or call. I had to really mess around adding it severla times, but I finally got it to show up in my cart for the 39.99. I called in at the same time.
