Does anybody have a recipe for Snowball Cake? My Mom used to make it every Christmas and it was so delicious. I would love to make it for my family this year. I remember it was made it a mixing bowl, had lemon jello in it and whipped cream, I think she used a white cake mix. When it was done it looked like a big snowball and it was so moist and creamy.

I went to CC and BB on 12/1 for 9am thinking that they would be open early for the holidays...nope, they both opened at 10:00am. They are right across the street from each other in my area. One would assume they would open earlier for the holiday season.

I am looking for a 37-42 inch tv for the family christmas gift. I was at BB and looked at the Insignia brand tv, the picture was crystal clear and bright. The sales person told me that "Insignia is BB own brand but is actually made by Sony" I find this hard to believe, does anyone know for sure and do you have any info/reports on the Insignia brand/ TIA

My favorite and easy holiday cookies Pretzel Turtles 24 small pretzels (traditional bow shaped) 24 Rolo candies 24 pecan or walnut halves Preheat oven to 300 F arrange pretzels on parchment paper lined cookie sheet place 1 rolo on top of pretzel bake for 4 minutes, while rolo is warm press nut on top of each candy. Let cool completly, cover in a air tight container Very yummy

Thanks Marc, I am glad I bought it then. MY son has been using the Navigator feature on his cell phone and it is less than stellar. If you get a phone call you have to start the whole thing over again. Plus I pay $10 a month for this service...I hope the TTLE does the trick:fluffy:

Hi I just bought my DS20, the TomTom LE unit from Best Buy today for $149..they were sold out everywhere around here and were also sold out on line. Is this a good unit or a bad unit? I have read some mixed reviews here..but nothing very specific. Has anyone tried theirs out yet? My son is a college student and is now student teaching..so he gets sent to different schools in many different places and he has the absolute worst sense of direction

Apparently you have never seen the documentary "The high cost of low prices" What an eyeopener, if any company treats their employees (esp women and minorities) worse than WM they should be ashamed. I was appalled at watching this show, you should see how they treat their foreign employees in China for example. I cried after seeing a hidden camera record an incident with an elderly black man (employee)...it was sickening:curse: I will still go to WM if I really have to, but after that I am a Target shopper for sure

I get the QVC insider magazine and the only coupons they ever have are in there. They are mostly name your own easy pay etc. You can try their website and check the boards, they may have some discount codes. Good Luck

Me too bought the deluxe seal a meal..used it 2x..it is messy and the bags are way too expensive...it sold at the yard sale for $3.00, including 2 sets of bags:eek:

My DS gf is an asst store manager at Bombay..they found out about 6 weeks ago the store was filing chapter 11, then they found out 2 weeks ago that they were in worse shape than originally thought. They are closing all US stores but not Canada... The store where she works is a Bombay Outlet with huge sales numbers but they are still closing. The liquidators have already come in and they are now in charge. They are still getting in shipments but will be closed for good in early January 08. There are no returns, no exceptions so beware. There are however lots of great deals to be had.

We open our Christmas stockings on Christmas night before bed. The kids always would complain that after they opened their gifts Christmas was "over" so for about the past 15 years or so..we have Christmas day and of course open presents in the am and eat etc but at night we open our stockings, one by one, slowly and then we know that Christmas is truly over. It always has given the kids something to look forward too..maybe candy..maybe a cd..maybe a scratch ticket...I try to make it new and different each year, maybe a theme, all music or all games or all food..it varies.

Best was a palomino horse I got when I was about 12. This horse was housed at a nearby stable and she was old and worn out but she was the sweetest thing ever. I kept asking my parents if I could get her and they kept saying "NO". I already had 2 horses of my own and my Dad had another. The owner of "Ginger" told me that they "were going to send her to the glue factory as she was useless now". I hated that man:curse: Well anyways on Christmas morning I had to go out and feed the animals and lo and behold there she was with a big huge bow on her halter. I was so happy, she lived about another 10 months and her last days were very happy and she knew she was loved. She was never ridden by any of us (she deserved a rest) but she was a great companion horse in the stable. I know she went on to Rainbow Bridge Worst..any Christmas spent with my ex-husband

On Thanksgiving we go to a newly released movie and then get Chinese food..I know different...but when DS's were little I had no family here but them and making a whole T-day dinner seemed pointless. We still do this and they don't want to do it any other way now. Go figure Christmas is usually Turkey or a Roast (whatever everyone wants) with all the fixings and you have to have Snowball cake with it for desert:2wiggle:

I am hoping to buy my DS20 a GPS for his car. He has a terrible sense of direction and this would be a huge help for him. He is doing some of his student teaching now and must travel to (and find) different schools in different towns etc. I have seen Magellan and TomTom brands but I have no clue what to look for. I cannot afford the best ones..but I was thinking in the $200 range. Do you think these will a BF item anywhere? It needs to be portable and just plug into the car lighter adapter. Do these have a monthly fee as well? thanks
