Black Friday is getting closer, I'm noticing more people trickling in to the forums .

We don't have one around here either. Looking at this catalog, it might be a good thing. I keep having to remind myself I'm done with the granddaughter! LOL. She's so fun to shop for though.

I checked last year's list (here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/topic/320532-black-friday-ads-from-the-past-dates-lists-scans/), and it looks like Bass Pro/Cabela's had 3 Alaskan Guide tents on sale for 25% off. Those are the only ones I saw. I checked the Acadamy ad, and the only tent they had was a play tent. Kind of surprising, really.

So many memories. A few years ago, we had received SO MUCH RAIN. And it rained all day Thanksgiving Day. There was about 3 inches of water standing in the parking lot at Walmart. I literally had to go buy a package of dry socks (I don't remember if I bought a pair of shoes also). It was a good thing Walmart was our first stop . Another weather related memory was from years ago, when the sales started at 5:00am. I dropped my sister off at Toys R Us, and the line went out to the street (I'm still not sure why they didn't wrap around the building) and left to go somewhere else. I'm not sure why, but her coat got left in my car. So she's standing out in the freezing temps, in the sleet, waiting on TRU to open their doors! Good times . Then there was the time...Oh, and another time...And then that one time...

It's October! Where are all the ads?

You have to use the upload url option. Your photo will need to be saved on photobucket (or another site, if you know of one), then use the direct copy link and upload it to your profile pic. Hope that helps.

My phone connects to my car audio 2 different ways, either by bluetooth or the charging cord. So if the phone is plugged in, I have to select that audio option for the Echo to work. I bet your car is the same way, so you might look at that.

I finall got my invitation for the auto a couple weeks ago. As for the new products, do you ever think Amazon is trying to play us? I mean, are they sitting in their meetings saying "Our people will buy anything we put out there. Let's prove it by coming up with some truly ridiculous ideas!". LOL. I mean, they aren't wrong. I bought that Echo Auto, knowing darn well my phone would already do everything that silly thing would do.

I'm hoping someone will have 12 months of XBox live for $35. For several years, I was able to get that deal one place or another, but the last couple years I've had no luck.

This is one of my fears (dreads) for all retailers. Everything is online, everyone releases their own BF ad early. I'm afraid within the next couple years another big tradition aspect of BF will be gone when they all quit printing paper ads. Having said that, I am aware that I contribute to the issue. If I shop at BB on BF, it's going to be online. The store is too crazy for me to bother going there.

Side note - how did you get the photo to show up without "Photobucket" across the middle? I know there are other sites, but I don't know what they are. I've used Photobucket for years, now all of a sudden when I try to post a photo it marks it. I tried imgur, but apparently I'm not smart enough to figure that out . Thanks!

Secret Santa is just like it sounds - a secret exchange of gifts! There's a MINIMUM of $10 before shipping. If you choose to spend more, please don't be disappointed if your partner doesn't. 2. Ornament Exchange is also just like it sounds - an exchange of ornaments! There's a MINIMUM of $5 before shipping. Unlike the other two, however, you send (a card) to everyone who signs up and you get (a card) from everyone who signs up! I don't generally budget for Black Friday either, but I usually have a good idea what I can get away with. This year the drawstrings are tighter than they've been in a long time, so I'm just hoping for some really good deals.

Ya, back in "the day" one of the best parts of BF was hanging out with the people in line with you at 3:00 in the morning.
