  1. I very much miss the "My recent posts" link under the Quick Links dropdown.
  2. Grumpycrab Wickedton Eh, I've been called worse.
  3. Yes, it will resolve itself when the credit is processed. Had a similar situation the other day at Long John Silver's when I charged our takeout order and the cashier didn't enter a $2 off coupon. She was going to void everything and start all over which is when I asked her to just give me $2 cash and do all the re-keying later. She asked the manager who agreed with me. It's good to remember we're entering the time of year when many of the people working retail are part-time and temp employees. For the most part they are not going to know how to handle many customer service situations. I make an extra effort to watch closely when things are being rung up and try to catch any errors right there. What you have in your favor is that if you are holding up the checkout line, a manager will come over at once and fix things so the people behind you don't go ballistic. If you have to go to customer service after the fact, it's hit or miss, and the manager is far less likely to hurry over to take care of a problem.
  4. I use tubes similar to these ones. It's very easy - dump coins in the tube, if you have too many you shake them out of the slot in the side of the tube. When the level of coins are even with the slot, you put a pre-rolled wrapper in the tube, turn the tube over, and the coins are wrapped. Fold down the ends of the wrapper and take them to the bank. It takes me about 15 minutes to wrap about $80 worth of change. If you have huge amounts of change, you'll want something that lets you dump the whole pile in and sorts it out.
  5. They say they do not match website prices, only local stores. And you cannot use a coupon with a price match. Link to their price match policy. However, you have nothing to lose by trying.
  6. Those are an item where cheap might not be good. A co-worker bought a cheap one and the photos look like crap, not to mention that if you view it at an angle it looks even worse. I know if I was going to buy one, I'd have to see it in person first to check the quality.
  7. Hello to a felllow 'Burgher! Doesn't look like anyone addressed your concern about buying for only three people. You might want to check each one out in advance to make sure they have the items you want to shop for, and that the sizes of the items will work for you. We only have two to shop for, and neither Sams nor Costco is effective for us because the sizes of the food items are too large to be convenient. And we don't buy enough clothes/electronics to justify the memberships just for that. But I'd be the first to admit that we're not much for shopping just to buy stuff.
  8. Set up a saved search on ebay so you get an email if someone lists one for sale. It's very unlikely you'd find one for sale at any given moment.
  9. Rebates won't go away because the seller gets all the benefits of being able to advertise a lower price, without having to actually deliver that low price to everyone. Most places contract with a rebate fulfillment company to handle the processing of the rebates. Did you know the rebate processor (RP) will guarantee the cost to the company for handling the rebates? The RP knows statistically how many people will claim a rebate based on the amount of the rebate and the cost of the product. Let's say XYZ Company wants to offer a $10 rebate on a $50 product. The RP estimates that will be claimed by 40% of the buyers. So the RP tells XYZ company they guarantee the maximum number of rebates will be, say 42%. If more people claim the rebate, the RP has to eat the extra cost. This might explain why your rebates are denied, then magically approved once you complain. It's easier to just deny rebates, then give in to the people who take the time to call. Another thing you can do if you can't get a denial straightened out is to take the copies of your rebate materials back to the store and talk to a manager. Sometimes they can make a phone call and clear it up.
  10. I see it searching for "baby coupons".
  11. I don't think you understand.. you can't look at the size of the battery, the battery goes inside....wait, that doesn't sound right... You don't use the battery... well, you do, but not like... oh, never mind.
  12. I hadn't thought about it, but you're right. They play many of the classic Christmas specials so often you no longer feel as though it's the one chance to see it. Oh, and magickallight, did you watch Paul Shannon send letters to Santa on the North Pole Rocket when you were little?
  13. I think bigjimslade found the best deal. I see a 8AM departure on Dec. 16 and a 10:05 AM return on Dec. 29 on Southwest (Love Field - LaGuardia) for $184. That will be very tough to beat at that time of year. The departure date has some flexibility but the return flight is only available on the 29th (for the $184 round-trip fare), so don't delay.
  14. Where are you traveling from? Are there other airports close by you would consider leaving from? And are there other airports in the NYC area you would consider traveling to? What is the earliest and latest date you would go to NYC? What is the earliest and latest date you need to return?
  15. You don't have your Private Messages turned on. Shipping to a residential address in zip code 60123 is $10.13 per roll.
  16. What is this "Reward Zone" card that is required for the coupon to be valid?
  17. I have some 30" rolls of 20 lb bond white paper which are 500' long (yes, 500 feet). Each roll is in a box (6.5" x 6.5" x 32") which can be shipped as-is. The boxes weigh 22 pounds each. You can have one or more for the cost of shipping. I can ship via FedEx Ground (no UPS). For reference, one roll shipped FedEx ground to Ohio is $7.90, Massachusetts is $9.66, Wisconsin is $10.20, Arkansas is $11.07, Oregon is $19.60. Perfect for making banners as long as you want, table/floor coverings that kids can scribble on, school projects, etc. If you are exceptionally anal-retentive and have a steady hand, you could even cut it up into sheets for your laser printer. It's the same type of paper. :) If you want to know an exact shipping cost in advance, send me a PM with the delivery address and whether it is a residential or a business address. [edited to remove reference to UPS shipping. Just found out that's not an option for me.]
  18. In a moment of complete insanity, I suggested to my wife that we shop at the Grove City outlets on BF a few years ago. I had no BF attack plan like you professionals do, I just figured we could go there for the day and do some shopping while the rest of the world was doing battle at the traditional malls and big box stores. Oh, what a mistake. The traffic was backed up at least a half-mile on I-79 just trying to get off the exit. It took at least a half-hour from the time we hit the backlog of traffic until we got a parking spot in the mall. Before I even got out of the car I was in a rotten mood. Don't think I'll be suggesting that again!
  19. No, it's not. But I don't think the clerk started it.
  20. Look down at the lower right corner of any post and you'll see this: http://www.gottadeal.com/forums/images/gottadeal/buttons/quote.gif Click that on the post you want to quote. You'll get a page with that post already quoted for you and you just enter your text below it in the reply box.
  21. If I was the employee, once I had someone say that to me, I'm done with you. I'm sure she wasn't happy about how things were being handled, but that's over the line. I'm not going to tolerate F-bombs being dropped on me, euphemism or not.
