  1. Thanks, I'll stop by to check it out on my way home.
  2. If she wants fast, cheap ink, and nice photo printing capabilities, recommend a Canon Pixma ip5000. They are no longer made, but the ink is "chip-less", so it's extremely cheap. There's a company (Adorama Camera, I believe) on Amazon that I've gotten 2 of them from, now. They are ~$150 shipped, but to replace all 5 ink cartriges is <$18 if she gets an aftermarket ink. For an AIO solution, the Canon MP780 uses the same inexpensive ink, but it's going to be closer to $200 up front.
  3. Color inkjet, preferably. If I decide to go with a laserjet, I'll give he mine.
  4. I bought my sister a Canon i455 for college, and now the printhead is shot. It was a cheap printer to begin with, so I don't want to spend $50+ to replace the printhead. If you can find one for a good price, let me know. Otherwise a cheap replacement printer would be good, too. I have a Samsung ML-2010 that I'm considering giving her, but it's kind of big for her little car to add to her move-in and move-out days.
  5. Here's the specs on the gold package.
  6. I order from them all the time and have never had a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Did anyone look through the entire list? Anything worth buying?
  7. I usually get at least 4-5x the cost of the book from the coupons. Definitely a smart buy.
  8. http://configure.us.Dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?CS=19&kc=6V620&oc=i6000S1 Go to Dell Home, add it to your cart at $899. Ripped from FW. $250 off coupon no longer works. - should have tried before posting, sorry.
  9. That's a great price for that! I wonder what brand of hard drive they use in the enclosure?
  10. Wow, they sure have come down in price since I got mine. The one at Newegg should be pretty good. I can't find anything that's much lower cost than that one.
  11. It's $2 with a 8 gallon or more purchase at the gas station near my house. I'm not real fond of their carwash, though, so I buy them in 10-packs at another station and get a $2 discount. It ends up being their $7 wash for $5.
  12. Where do you get your toner refill kits? I've been looking for some for the HP cartridges I have here at work, too.
  13. I'm going to get one. Every time I see this deal I think I should to save my "photo" printer's black ink. 4inkjets.com has the toner for $48, which is very reasonable for ~3000 page yield.
  14. Has anyone ordered one of these, yet? Do they come with a toner? If so, is it a "starter" toner that's only like 1/3 full?
  15. When the cows haven't chewed through our lines, we do.
  16. Thanks, I'll probably stop on my way home tonight.
  17. Nice, I may pick a couple of them up. Thanks.
  18. Sometimes the Kodaks do last and work well for a long time, but I've also seen a lot of people get rid of them because if quality issues. I guess you could get an extended warranty on it if you wanted the Kodak.
  19. Can you go up $5? If so, this Canon is far superior to those. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16830120181 If I were you I would avoid HP and Kodak at all costs. They are good for about 1 year, and then the images tend to start getting bad because the sensors don't last. If you need to use Walmart, this is your best option in that range. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4324489
  20. According to Corpun in the tech forum, Best Buy will have a Toshiba for $499 this week.
  21. Keep your eyes open. The SD400 and SD500 are going out of production, so I'd be willing to bet there will be some good deals on them.
  22. Don't you have a work address. I'm still considering...
  23. For US sims, they only sell prepaid ones for T-Mobile. Telestial sells Cell Phone companies sims as a service to travelers, basically. A lot of international businesses use them to buy phone time when they travel.
  24. Telestial is one of the biggest provider of prepaid SIMs in the US. Look here for US prepaid: http://www.telestial.com/sim_bridge.php?COUNTRY_ID=US
  25. If he currently uses T-Mobile, he can just purchase a prepaid SIM (basically just paying for air time) and put it in his existing phone.
